Full of bugs, impenetrable IT babble instead of clear user interfaces, lacking critical functions you’d expect of a modern crewing app. Astonishing that a company the size of CAE can produce such a poor product. My mum could do better than this and she still has a vhs video player. ### 1/5 — Dear oh dear *2025-03-23, version 4.6.1* You need to sack the team, this app is an embarrassment. It maybe all bells and whistles behind the scene but for the user it’s atrocious. Crash after crash after crash. Auto acknowledging changes then having no idea what the changes were. Who designed the GUI, even a child would do a better job? I’d give it 0 stars but it won’t let me. This app is some form of sick joke to get people to subscribe for Roster Buster. ### 1/5 — Shambolic *2025-03-08, version 4.6.0* If you have to force close the app every time you want to log in that says it all about the quality of the app. Regardless of the features that may or may not be enabled, this is just a bad app. ### 1/5 — Stability Update 2 weeks ago?!? *2025-03-02, version 4.5.4* Edit: There’s been a stability update two weeks ago so why do I still have to reset the app after each use??? I also noticed that when changing the times between Zulu and local in settings there is nothing to indicate which time has been selected on the roster. This WILL cause delayed flights come the clock change. How is this not being addressed?! -Cannot see crew assigned to simulator or training duties. App crashes between uses when allowed to remain open in background meaning you have to manually close down the app between uses - no idea if this is affecting the delivery of roster change notifications? No crew photo, a very useful feature for larger airlines. The schedule view is very clunky and not user friendly, a list view with today at the top would be far better. The app often stalls at the sign in page requiring a forced reset of the app. Messages from crewing don’t seem to generate notifications. App keeps crashing and not stable. It doesn’t do what it supposed to do. ### 1/5 — Horrendous *2025-01-20, version 4.5.1* Words fail me on just how bad this is. ### 1/5 — Atrocious *2025-01-10, version 4.5.1* The app has VERY poor functionality. If you select TODAY, the app goes to the first duty of the current duty block - not today. You cannot have a day view. There is no option to select Local (for simulator duties) vs Zulu (for flights). You cannot select font size. You cannot see simulator crew. The dashboard maker crashes the app. Duty detail includes Sabre-like extraneous detail. Changes are marked as DROPPED, MODIFIED or ADDED, but due to the extraneous detail it becomes extremely difficult to spot the difference. You cannot add a personal note to a duty (eg for a simulator duty, what the duty actually is). EDIT: There is no option to give feedback or contact developers within the app (and they don’t respond/reply to these reviews). EDIT2: You can sync with RosterBuster. The bug is that you must deselect Connect to RosterBuster, then leave the screen (despite the toggle moving back to ‘Connected’, then close the app and restart the app. EDIT3: As others have said, FACE ID is not automatic. So when you go back to an open app it stalls on the notifications screen. The only option is to close the app, then select the app, then select FACE ID… ### 1/5 — At least try and sort out the bugs *2025-01-10, version 4.5.1* Can’t even get past the login page when the app is reopened. A very poor roster interface. A high school project could produce a better result. ### 1/5 — Way outdated *2025-01-09* One of the worst apps out there… ### 1/5 — Utterly Miserable Experience *2025-01-04, version 4.5.1* Never have I had the displeasure to use such a poorly designed, poorly functioning app. There is literally nothing good to say about this abysmal creation. The UI must have been designed as a GCSE project and should have been graded a U. And the fact that one has to subscribe to RosterBuster (a CAE product, incidentally) just to get your damn roster into iCal beggars belief. ### 1/5 — Absolutely Bloody Awful *2024-12-31, version 4.5.1* This app is absolutely bloody awful. It is entirely unfit for purpose. The app will crash after every access attempt forcing you to log in after every access. Roster update messages would require a legal degree to understand followed by another crash when trying to accept them! This is by far and away the worst roster application I have ever used; and I hope the team that signed off on this cataclysm of a system are very VERY thoroughly debriefed and retrained before being allowed into any company IT systems again. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Please end this suffering *2026-02-17, version 5.1.1* An app designed by some degenerates with no prior coding experience. I am seriously considering using my airline peer support program as this app is giving me anxiety and depression. You have to download RosterBuster in order to sync with your calendar but it doesn’t always work and can’t trust it. Thank goodness my company is ditching this mobile version and going back to the previous in house roster app. So much better. AVOID THIS! *2025-06-21, version 4.7.1* This app feels like it was coded during a coffee break in 2007 and hasn’t been touched since. Constant crashes, login loops, and an interface that looks like someone copy-pasted a spreadsheet into a browser. Half the time it forgets your credentials, and the other half it just… doesn’t load anything. Pray you never have to reset your password. Using this app adds stress to my day. AIMS was perfect. It’s not broken don’t fix it. ### 1/5 — If anxiety were an app, it would be this one. *2025-05-31, version 4.7.1* Crew Access isn’t just bad — it’s a sadistic experiment in human endurance, disguised as a scheduling app. It feels like a sentient spreadsheet that hates you personally, doggedly set on one mission to ruin your wellbeing. Logging in feels like trying to break into a government facility with a soggy napkin and oven gloves. Face ID fails, passwords expire and when you finally get in, you wish you hadn’t. The interface looks like it was designed during a hostage situation. Nothing is intuitive. Every confusing notification fills me with dread. I open this app like someone checking the results of a medical test they know won't be good. If I had one chance to travel through time and change the course of human history, I’d go back and unplug the developer’s computer. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2025-05-22, version 4.7.0* Hopeless, is this written by a teenager in their bedroom ? ### 1/5 — Not even worth one star *2025-05-15, version 4.7.0* This the worst app I used so far, unbelievable bad. ### 1/5 — Not Fit For Purpose *2025-05-01, version 4.6.2* My airline started using Crew Manager in November 2024 and the app is still not fit for purpose. Times are in local only and not selectable to UTC; what airline doesn’t work in UTC? The notifications are incomprehensible. Duty icons are meaningless. The company pass this back to CAE and just tell us to use the web version which, of course, requires online access. ### 1/5 — Flyguy *2025-05-01, version 4.6.2* Absolutely underwhelming app - not fit for purpose. No ability to see rosters in UTC, app crashes every time you open it, you have to force close it and re-open EVERY time.. shows the wrong crew whilst offline, if that is, it allows you access to your roster offline. It won’t allow you to see your current roster before acknowledging changes, the calendar interface makes it difficult to tell which month you’re on. The list goes on.
