### 4/5 — Getting There

*2026-07-16, version 2.2.5*

Crew isn’t perfect, but no fintech banking app is. This one has met nearly all of my asks and the support team has been responsive about bugs and quirks. Updates come which have alleviated some of the pain points, but not all. It’s still cooking, and not surprising given that banking such a challenge to make easy, but it’s getting there. -1 star for some glaring lack of UX research & user friendliness. I hope they can figure these leftover things out and then i’ll be happy to recommend it to people that are much harsher critics.

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2026-07-05, version 2.2.5*

Crew is great for kids and adults alike. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because they don’t have an investing feature

### 5/5 — Best family bank. No contest.

*2026-07-04, version 2.2.5*

Simple. Clean. Fast and easy.

It does all of the right things. In app budgeting. Easy family funds management. Doesn’t treat you like a product (like greenlight).

### 5/5 — Good

*2026-07-02, version 2.2.5*

It is really good

### 5/5 — Works good enough

*2026-06-30, version 2.2.5*

Amazing way to introduce your kids to properly using their money

### 5/5 — Ok

### 5/5 — Great Bank

*2026-06-20, version 2.2.5*

Crew finance is a pretty good bank. Their customer service is top notch. They are always super helpful and patient with you. They’re always willing to answer any and all questions and work with you for any issue you run into. My favorite part about crew is the pockets ability and how they have the automation for savings. They recently made this new autopilot feature and it’s great. The only downside, if I had to point something “negative” out, would be my direct deposit only posts the day of my check. (Unlike most other banks).

### 5/5 — LOVE

*2026-06-19, version 2.2.5*

I have LOVED using Crew!

### 5/5 — The banking app of my dreams.

*2026-06-19, version 2.2.5*

The autopilot beta is pure budgeting MAGIC. Give it your bills, paychecks and monthly spending goals, and it puts aside just enough from each paycheck to make sure you are set. So much peace of mind knowing I have what I need set aside without any thinking in my part.

### 5/5 — Crew is awesome

*2026-06-12, version 2.2.3*

This is great for teens to learn how to use a bank account. Thanks Crew!

### 5/5 — Fantastic!!!

*2026-06-12, version 2.2.3*

I’m a Simple bank refugee (RIP, iykyk) and Crew is an outstanding replacement...dare I say even better? The automation, the rules, pockets, and virtual cards you can set up - all SO good. The only thing missing for me is a widget showing what’s safe to spend minus bills coverage, but I know that’s on their roadmap. Last but not least, their customer service is excellent. Their AI chatbot gives thorough answers, but most often the founder himself will quickly respond. Fingers crossed that Crew stands the test of time!

### 5/5 — Incredible teaching tool

*2026-06-11, version 2.2.3*

This app has been an incredible to teach my family the value of setting money aside and investments. Additionally, as a busy family of 4 kids, we do not have to add trips to the bank into our already crowded life. Automatically transfers and auto allowance splits are incredible. Highly recommend to any family wanting to prioritize educating their children on finances while they are young.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2026-05-31, version 2.2.3*

If you’re looking for an app that is proactive and incentivizes you save rather than spend, this is the app. I’m a financial coach and I have to say, this app does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to behavior change for my clients.

### 5/5 — I have been waiting for this

*2026-05-28, version 2.2.3*

Buckets. One card. Automations.

People like me need this!

### 5/5 — Awesome and easy to use.

*2026-05-26, version 2.2.3*

I love how easy it is to use! The autopilot feature is also great!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2026-02-17, version 2.1.11*

Does not go beyond the processing application screen keeps crashing.

### 1/5 — No customer support

*2025-04-13, version 2.0.0*

App will keeps asking me to open my email. It will not let me login. No customer support contact information on website or in the app!

### 1/5 — Locked account with any reason

*2024-09-30, version 1.1.1*

I’m depositing 500 dollars to Crew account , next day they write me on email , like my account is suspected activity and they frozen it, when I ask number or any proofs , they ignore me and take my money and didn’t send it back! This is scammers ! And all reviews are here is buying for advertising!!!!

### 2/5 — Limited features- no Zelle

*2026-06-19, version 2.2.5*

No Zelle option. Depositing money is somewhat complicated. Limited instant money options. Customer service is via chat. Overall Limited features.. it’s cool for toddlers if you plan on depositing a large amount at one time.

### 2/5 — Needs work

*2026-04-14, version 2.2.2*

Lots of great features, but the apps design is horrible.

### 2/5 — Good idea bad app

*2025-10-14, version 2.1.6*

Thought it was a smart idea to start the kids with a debit card but I can’t get the app to link my bank account. It just stays on the loading circle and never goes anywhere. I’ve tried on WiFi and on regular data and it doesn’t help. I don’t get past hitting the button to “link account”.

### 3/5 — Crew is helpful

*2026-06-29, version 2.2.5*

This app is very helpful because when I have money and I don’t have anywhere to put it I walk or drive to CVS and dad my money to my card and use it when I need to plus you can make titles for each thing you use it for. You can transfer your money to other people.

### 3/5 — Needs iPad interface optimization

*2026-05-11, version 2.2.3*

This app would benefit from iPad interface optimization. Not everyone uses their phone for budgeting. Currently, the app looks strange on the tablet

### 3/5 — Love the app, but crashes

*2025-11-24, version 2.1.6*

Best banking app, but stability is an issue. A banking app needs to be reliable. Please fix the crash on open.

### 4/5 — Almost perfect banking app

*2026-09-04, version 2.2.7*

I've been using Crew for about 2 months and it's almost everything I ever wanted in a banking app. First, it offers a competitive interest rate on a CHECKING account which is like unheard of. I love the pockets and the ability to assign custom rules so I can easily send money to my pockets before I'm even tempted to spend it. The feature to assign transactions to specific pockets is also a game changer (I haven't ordered a debit card yet but you can also assign IRL transactions to specific pockets with the card). My only complaints so far are 1) I had a bit of trouble setting up my direct deposit. This is likely less of a Crew issue and more just that they partner with a small bank. But the team is incredibly responsive (I sent an email and the CEO responded). 2) The Autopilot feature isn't quite there yet. I love it in theory. The reserve is a great feature and the ability to easily track monthly income, spending, pockets/savings, and surplus is very helpful. My main complaint is the "Upcoming Payments" section is not intuitive at all. For example, I had it set to send $200/month to my Car Insurance pocket every 2 weeks (on payday). I would expect the Upcoming Payments to list out those biweekly transfers (the day of the transfer, how much is being transferred into the pocket, and where it's coming from). Instead it lists one transfer for ~$91 and just says the plan is "on track" by a specified date. I get that that $91 doesn't equal $200/2 because sometime times there are 3 paychecks a month. I also get that it might not just pull a set dollar amount from every paycheck to leave as much spending money upfront as possible. I appreciate those features and would like to continue to use them but I can't if I use the alternative and set up a custom Payday Routine rule to transfer a set amount every paycheck. But as a user, I would like to be able to track and anticipate when and where the autopilot transfers to my pockets are coming from instead of relying on this black box "on track" message.

### 5/5 — Budget Lover

*2026-09-06, version 2.2.8*

I love this app! It has become my primary bank account. I love that i have different envelopes within my own back account.

### 5/5 — A better checking account

*2026-08-27, version 2.2.7*

Crew Finance combines high yield savings with everyday checking, so your money earns interest while you spend. In my experience, it’s a significant upgrade over Wells Fargo for everyday banking.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-27, version 2.2.7*

Great app, clean interface.

### 5/5 — Great for the kids

*2026-08-11, version 2.2.7*

Ever since we got this, it’s been great to be able to help our kids learn about budgeting and spending habits and also find opportunities for them to have an account that they can see their savings and be independent in their spending.

### 5/5 — Great Financing App for Families

*2026-08-07, version 2.2.7*

My mom and sister have set up a family together on here which helps with all of the transferring money around. I love that it give a good amount of interest a month and it doesn’t give some lame 1.50% APY. Mine literally give me 2.95% APY interest each month. I only have an allowance of about $30 a month and yet I’m still making at least a $1 a year in interest.

### 5/5 — Best banking app

*2026-08-04, version 2.2.7*

This is the only app that’s allowed me to get my finances under control. They’re always dropping amazing features as well. Just download the app, you’ll be happy.

### 5/5 — Good

*2026-07-20, version 2.2.5*

Good

### 5/5 — Simple, Qube & One Refugee Finds Amazing Budgeting App

*2026-07-14, version 2.2.5*

I’ve been through multiple migrations over the years, most without my approval. After some frustrating sacrifices with Qube & One, and their ultimate collapse/transformation… I’ve finally found the ideal solution for me and my fam.

Amazed at the balance between simplicity, full features & smart automations with a solid philosophical foundation and approach to banking & budgeting.

Bravo Gentry, Steve & the whole Crew crew.

### 5/5 — Future of Banking

*2026-07-11, version 2.2.5*

It took a while to get workflows set up, but it completely replaced how I budget for things.

Bill reserve/Autopilot is powerful. If you’re looking for a way to have money ready for your bills automatically, this is it. Name your bills (or select them from transactions) and include how you’ll fund them (paycheck, income) and it will fund those bills by the date they need to go out.

That by itself is worth the switch. But that’s not why I am writing this review.

Imagine you’ve set a budget on takeout for the month. Let’s call it a dining out pocket. You create a pocket (in their terms) for the month. You create a virtual card that you can use online that is specific to the pocket. Transaction automatically deducts from that pocket. Easy.

Didn’t create a virtual card? No problem, if you paid with your main debit card, you can categorize it after and it will deduct from the appropriate pocket.

Wanted to use your CC for cash back or miles? Pay the card with Crew and select the category and (say it with me now) it will deduct from the appropriate pocket.

Wanted to dine in instead? Select the appropriate pocket in the app that you want to use once you get the bill or are at the POS to pay.

It’s that simple.

And if you’re tracking your budget, something tells me you’d like to have some money working for you.

You can set a rule to round up transactions to go to saving or checking, etc.

But you can also set rules like I have for something like dining out: at the end of the month, anything that I didn’t use from the budget for dining out, goes into savings, the next day (the 1st of the month) it automatically gets the money transferred from checking.

I never feel the pressure or seeing my checking balance at $30, because I have (mostly) every dollar assigned to a role.

I could see Crew getting into other products like investments, retirement accounts among others, that other neo-banks are participating in and if they’re seeing this, I think it’s a wonderful idea.

I am so stoked being a Crew member.

### 5/5 — GET THIS APP NOW

*2026-07-10, version 2.2.5*

This app will revolutionize your family’s personal finances. I can’t recommend it enough.

It works great, they are responsive, and the principle of the app is solid. Being proactive with your spending, not reactive.

Get it. Get it right away. It’s free. No monthly fee either
