## What is CrewContrails?

Contrails turns a pilot's work schedule into a live family flight view.

The pilot signs in, imports a schedule, and sends each family member a private, expiring invitation. Trackable flights appear on a realistic 3-D globe with public position, route, altitude, and speed when live data is available.

FOR THE PILOT
• Paste or scan your schedule; trips, duty days, and legs are parsed automatically
• Re-import a revised schedule any time — it just replaces the old one
• Add, edit, or remove an individual flight without re-importing everything
• Deadhead legs are understood and shown as schedule-only
• Review and revoke family devices or invitations at any time
• Permanently delete the Contrails household and all shared data in the app

FOR THE FAMILY
• Join from the pilot's private link — no family account or server settings
• See where the current flight is, what comes next, and when it lands
• Browse the schedule by day, city, and local time instead of pilot pairing codes
• Optional generic notification when a flight is landing soon

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No ads, advertising analytics, data brokers, or cross-app tracking
• The app never uses your phone's location — the only position shown is the aircraft's, from public aviation data
• Family responses exclude pairing details, tickets, OOOI, logbook records, credentials, and crew information
• Expiring invitations, encrypted alert tokens, device revocation, and an in-app deletion control protect the shared household

Contrails 2.5 (68) — the 3 September field report

FIXED — editing trips froze the app (iPhone 15). Saving a change to a flight, or deleting one, put the app into a loop that iOS eventually killed. Please edit a flight and delete a flight again; the app should stay responsive and the change should reach your family.

NEW — positioning flights show their number. A deadhead seat now reads with the airline and number ("DL 1126") instead of the word "Positioning". A ticketed seat whose airline the schedule never named reads "Flight 1126".

NEW — airline picker for positioning. When you edit a positioning flight and turn on "Positioning / deadhead", an Airline row lets you pick the carrier. Picking one lets the family map follow that flight. "Not listed" keeps the typed form working as before.

NEW — layover days on the calendar. Days spent away between one flight's arrival and the next flight's departure show a bed on the family calendar, and tapping the day shows "Layover · In  "city". Days at your base or Home Station stay blank. Please check that your own layovers are marked and that days at home are not.

Cross-device: if your family already had the app open, pull down to refresh once.
