### 3/5 — Great but…

*2024-06-11, version 1.4*

I think this is such a good game. I really enjoyed playing it. But why the hell do I have to pay to carry on. It’s really annoying cause I thought this was a great game and now I can’t play it cause I can only play 6 games before it’s all over

### 3/5 — Bad fielding

*2024-05-30, version 1.4*

The game is pretty fun however the fielding is horrendous and the graphics are pretty bad.

### 3/5 — Convenient change in difficulty when buying the full version

*2024-05-07, version 1.4*

Loved the free version so much that I payed for the full version. Not quite sure why but the game becomes unplayably hard even on easy mode once full game is purchased. Giving me second thoughts about buying now

### 3/5 — International Squad Selection

*2024-04-30*

It would be awesome if the game allowed the "coach" of the National team to select players in the national pool (like Football Manager and FIFA type games), instead of just selecting from those that have played international games. And for the AI to select based of those topping the runs & wicket charts to be called up, not random players that have bad stats to be selected for national team. It is frustrating to have your players score runs season after season and never being called up to play internationally.

### 4/5 — Money

*2024-01-15, version 1.4*

It is a great game but you have to pay to keep playing which is kind of ridiculous

### 4/5 — A request for more customisation options

*2024-01-14, version 1.4*

Hello , I think the game is fantastic but I would love the ability to create my own leagues and tournaments too add to career mode with my own created players to truly personalise my playing experience. I would also like to see the ability to completely remove formats from certain career modes so they are not played at all across the board if I don’t want to play a certain format. My third request is that we are able to control associate nations and try to gain test status in career mode. Thank you.

### 4/5 — Cricket

*2024-01-05, version 1.4*

When does Cricket Captain 2024 come out ?

### 3/5 — Good game needs some work though

*2023-12-10, version 1.3*

It’s a great game if you love cricket but some things I noticed is that some players all of a sudden just forget how to play cricket even though in real life there are amazing. Another thing you notice it doesn’t matter how set a player is if you try and up the aggression they will get out soon after. The last point I will make is that it’s basically the same game every year with a couple tweaks.

### 3/5 — Too expensive

*2023-11-11, version 1.3*

Very good but too expensive for the full game and you can barely play any matches in the free version.

### 1/5 — No development or detail

*2023-11-02, version 1.2*

This game has so much potential. Stats are underwhelming from youth improvements to what makes a good leader - just to mention a few?! It’s jall guess work and hoping good players with good averages are produced. The graphics engine is laughable. The UI looks dated and messy. What a waste and what a shame. Save your money.

### 2/5 — Version now unrealistic

*2023-10-24, version 1.2*

Lovingly bought every year but this Bazball edition far too aggressive. I’ve just easily scored 264/3 on Normal in just a single morning session under very cloudy skies! Scores are all over the place, records constantly broken on a daily basis. Ireland beating Pakistan by 682 runs! Cricket doesn’t work like that. Very disappointed, so my advice, jump back on 18 to 22 like I have, they're far better, more realistic and loads more accurate.

### 3/5 — Boundaries

*2023-10-18, version 1.2*

The number of sixes being hit must be improved, often way too few are hit than is realistic especially for T20 and ODI.

### 3/5 — One big issue

*2023-09-07, version 1.2*

It’s a phenomenal game but you only get six games free which really bugs me because I would play this game for nights on end but I can’t

### 4/5 — Captaining the “A Team”/U19 Team

*2023-09-04*

I have an idea that let’s you captain the “A” Team of the squad. What I am saying is that we should be able to captain India A or Ind U-19. India A should be up and coming players for India that can play more cricket against teams like Eng A or Australia A. Now on the menu to add players to your squad you can block off people who are over 30 and people who have played more than 20 international games. This will help players get selected for the International Squad. Please add this

### 3/5 — This game makes no sense

*2023-08-31, version 1.2*

India is impossible to beat in a series and Aus are terrible England is bang in the middle, the rest are all bad

### 1/5 — Updated schedule is not available

*2023-08-22*

There is no updates schedule of World Cup 2023 and No updated roosters for worldcup! Fix thissss!

**Developer response:** Hi, we've just released an update for this.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Zero player detail

*2024-06-07, version 1.4*

Whilst they’re happy to provide all manner of insight into player tendencies, historical data and the suchlike, there is zero information as to the player abilities. I’m having to loosely base it off of salaries, as I have nothing else to go on. Given that this is standard across every other sports game I’ve ever played, this makes this game wholly inaccessible.

### 1/5 — awful game

*2024-05-22, version 1.4*

simple opposition for all 5 games a played got over 400 runs my team with root malan brooks lyth would get out for 150

### 1/5 — Unrealistic

*2024-03-26, version 1.4*

Bought the game for 4 consecutive years but I won’t again, nothing changes year after year and the scoring rates of opposition in one day and t20 matches are ridiculous and unrealistic. I understand it is a small dev team but the game is no where near good enough for such a large price (as AppStore games go) to be put on it

### 1/5 — Poor Poor Game, Nonsensical

*2024-03-02, version 1.4*

No rhyme or rythm to the game, the patterns of wickets are completely predictable and nonsensical, completely rigged and no way to have any influence on a win or loss.

### 1/5 — The same game repackaged

*2024-02-22, version 1.4*

… comes out every year

### 1/5 — Top G

*2024-01-31, version 1.4*

Paying 20 dollers for what was good untill you have to pay to carry on

### 1/5 — Don’t waste your money

*2024-01-07, version 1.4*

Almost feels as though they lure you in for the free trial, playing good cricket then you buy it and all that changes. Trying to play a defensive batting strategy and my players are playing reverse scoop shots, every time it seems I’m just about to get back into a match, for example having got to 200-0 then proceed to go 130-9 as if the pitch and weather has changed instantly. It’s unrealistic. Loads of potential but unplayable in its current state, and that’s without even going into detail for the white ball modes, even worse. Wish I could get a refund.

### 1/5 — I wish it was free

*2023-12-23, version 1.4*

At the moment I give this game a 1 star because it’s not free but it is a great I would give this game 5 stars if it was free I really wish I can play it but sadly it’s not free

### 1/5 — Bazball Ruined This Game

*2023-12-20, version 1.3*

Played this game since Ps1, noticed it in every game u play even if it’s Ireland vs Zim. Bowlers running at 8 an over in test matches is ridiculously. Even England in real life only did that againts Pakistan’s. tested the gam Aust vs India in test champs on every settin ve to norm. Hazelwood went for at best 6 an over and Lyon at best 8s. Against India in England is a joke at best. I know it’s a Pom making this game but having a aust team batting at three stars with Smith and Marnus top 5 test, and head, Warner, uzzie top 30 is a joke.

Also 6 youth players for aust cricket a year. There is a minimum 11 coming from each state time to up Aussie youth being that the aussies are the best in the world .

### 1/5 — It is awful

*2023-11-26, version 1.3*

This game is so unrealistic how has a team made 240 in a 20 over match and then in an ODI 100 all out, please just improve and make it more realistic.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good game but..

*2023-08-11, version 1.2*

Good game pls remove price tho kids like me wanna play more than 6v games

### 5/5 — Good but….

*2023-07-20, version 1.2*

I might actually buy this if it told me how much before I have to enter my password

### 5/5 — England 5-0

*2023-06-19, version 1.1*

Lots of improvements from the last edition, really nice shot animations that capture the bazball feel. Have only played an ashes so far just to try it out but looking forward to smashing some county too.

Would love them to introduce an attribute system (even a very basic one) so we could see how our youth intake stats grow over time.

Another solid entry overall, and for 10£ I feel like it’s hard to complain about the content.

### 5/5 — Quality as always

*2023-06-19, version 1.1*

Really like the upgrades to the aggression system, enjoying both limited overs and longer formats more than before. Players seem more accurate than before based on format. If you enjoy cricket then this is a must have game.

### 5/5 — The best cricket game on IOS

*2023-06-19, version 1.1*

For the genuine aficionado of the game - for the person who loves the 18 First Class counties and the eb and flow of red ball cricket - there is genuinely no better cricket game available in the App Store.

True success and satisfaction require the guile and man management of a Brearley or a Waugh, but you can equally enjoy it as a completely new player. It’s very intuitive.

It’s a game I go back to time after time. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Fantastic as per every year

*2023-06-19, version 1.1*

Once again they’ve improved upon last year. My favourite buy of the year!

### 4/5 — Game Options

*2024-08-15, version 1.4*

Some more historical series would be useful current lot is not good enough

### 4/5 — Make It Free

*2024-05-07, version 1.4*

Please make it free. Top tier game if it is free.

### 4/5 — Where are the classic series?

*2024-04-23, version 1.4*

The last couple of editions have omitted classic Test Series from yesteryear. Would not mind it being reinstated in Cricket Captain 24.

### 4/5 — I kinda just rambled and wrote down some ideas

*2024-01-24, version 1.4*

Things I’d like to see: Improved bowler rotations, especially in white-ball cricket. Issues with CPU bowling rotations: In one-day matches, the CPU often bowls a bowler for 10 consecutive overs, which is unrealistic. The rotation of three bowlers simultaneously, as seen in Mark Wood, Harry Brook, and Adil Rashid example, doesn't reflect real cricket. Spinners are rarely bowled in later overs of white-ball matches, affecting realism. In red-ball cricket, the CPU hesitates to bowl spin, even on spinning pitches. Fast bowlers are not rested leading into the second new ball, and there's confusion between part-timers and frontline bowlers, like Matthew Kuhnemann and Mitchell Swepson in a first-class game. How to fix: Implement pre-determined bowling rotations, improve CPU intelligence, and add rules for the CPU. Different rotations for various bowler combinations, with set rules for the white-ball format (e.g., not bowling the 1st and second over bowler between overs 65 and 80). Feature I’d like to see: Introduce bowler archetypes similar to batting aggression. Bowler archetypes could include: Pace Bowler Archetypes: Swing/Seam: More effective with the new ball (e.g., James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Jason Behrendorff). Death Bowler: Effective in all overs, harder to hit during death overs, excels at following plans (e.g., Chris Jordan, Tom Curran, Andrew Tye). Speedster: Slightly more effective with the new ball, best in short spells in red-ball cricket, can be expensive in white-ball cricket (e.g., Mark Wood, Shaun Tait, Alzzari Joseph). Spin Bowler Archetypes: Mystery Spinner: Spins the ball both ways, effective against batsmen with a strong pace bowling preference (e.g., Mujeeb Ur Rahman). Tweaker: Spins the ball significantly more than other spinners (e.g., Shane Warne). These archetypes could be combined (e.g., Mitchell Starc falling under both speedster and swing/seam bowler archetypes).

Also, make normal mode normal or change the name to hard. I’m convinced it’s physically impossible to win a t20 on normal difficulty.
