And so respectful to the subjects and their families. But most of the episodes don’t show up with any photos anymore. Knowing the victims’ likeness makes the stories much more real and relatable. ### 5/5 — Great! *2026-06-01, version 3.3.0* Easy to use. Very nice to have all Audio Chucks podcasts in one spot. The filtering of the episode is great. Truly a game changer when you can visualize what’s happening & put faces to the names instead of having to search through months of social media posts. Also, obviously the ad-free is so nice for continuous listening. 4 stars instead of 5 simply for app development things that could be modified. There’s no general memory in the app, so every time I open it up, I’m brought back to the main page & have to re-filter episodes. Minor inconvenience. Mostly I wish there were more ways to filter/group/create a playlist of episodes. Sometimes I wanna skip certain episodes to go back to later, but the only way to clear it from my feed is to “mark as played” - aka grouping it with everything I’ve already listened to. Nor is there anyway to “star” (i.e. favorite/bookmark) an episode. App would be much more user-friendly & preferable to other apps if I had ways of marking/grouping episodes for easier reference later. ### 4/5 — Fantastic *2026-05-30, version 3.3.0* Live this app, love the team!! I finally decided to join the Fan Club for more episodes, no commercials, and a carefree way of listening. I love the concept of all of the productions in one app but it’s more of a pain/nuisance that I pay for. This app just needs some revamping. Trying to listen to a new episode and the app plays a previously listened to episode, or it jumps in at the end and I have to stop whatever I’m doing to try to make it work. At times, I attempt to play a different episode, but it continues to play the episode I am currently on. This happens frequently and requires me restarting the app completely. ### 4/5 — Good podcast (: *2026-05-20, version 3.3.0* I have just stumbled upon this podcast last week & I am mostly loving it!! I would say the ONE thing that is more annoying than the Ad breaks is Britt!! I have listened to 10or so episodes and I don’t think she has contributed productively once! She interrupts the host with a very high pitched, nasally voice, & a “pick me” attitude to add useless cometary. You can tell the host is not impressed at times and brushes her off like a child who is annoying but you still have to be nice to lol. The episode “Killer on the high bridge” is brutal for her interrupting with U S E L E S S commentary. Other than that great! ### 2/5 — App not same quality as content *2026-05-11, version 3.3.0* Audiochuck content is always top notch…. They need their app dev team to have the same standards! The app refreshes itself all the time even if you don’t close it AND it doesn’t keep the episode you were listening to up so you have to dig around for it every time you pause for a minute. Imagine reading a book and using a bookmark but then putting the book back in a sea of books every time you pause even for a minute. You guys were already good at telling the stories of those taken from this life too early and you’ve only gotten better. I’m so thankful for the crime junkie rules that have kept me safe when I was a fearless 18-20 year old and for the inspiration you’ve given me to pursue work in this field of getting justice. The episodes in which you talk about domestic abuse are so important. Not with the crime junkie app! An app where downloaded episodes can only be accessed if you have WiFi is absolutely laughable. I spent $20 on a monthly subscription to listen to episodes off line, on a plane, but i guessed i shouldn’t have assumed that the episodes that are taking up massive amounts of storage in my phone for being downloaded would be available to stream offline because they are downloaded. I would in no way had made this purchase if there had been any disclaimer that you cannot listen to downloaded episodes offline. Without realizing, I’ve been filling my phones (expensive) storage, just to not be able to accesses it because the app requires WiFi to work. The options are for first time here - sign up, or members log in. When I try to sign up, it says this email is taken but when I try to log in with the email is says your membership isn’t active…. So I went to the website and there, same thing. The only option is to email customer service…. Worst app ever. *2025-08-15, version 2.6.3* Ridiculous that I can only listen to this podcast with THEIR app, and the app is horrible. It’s not user-friendly in the slightest. If you’re trying to catch up on episodes from the beginning, have fun scrolling endlessly and not being able to sort episodes by date to download. Oh, and the 3 dots for downloading an episode are so close to the PLAY button that you can’t get to the options (with the 3 dots) without hitting the play button accidentally. Want to go back and try again? Sure, but it’ll take you back to the top of the list of episodes and make you scroll back years again to try to find your episode. When you invariably accidentally hit the play button again, you get to do it all over again! Lastly, pay to join the fan club but then still have all of the mini episodes unavailable to you.
