I watched the ads to get coins and gems and then a countdown appears. Though, the last few times I went back to when the countdown should be zero and I should be able to watch ads again, it just restarted the countdown for another 24 hours. However, I am only able to play for about 15 mins at a time because it doesn’t take long to use up the energy. Even if I paid £5 for gems, I would only get another 15 mins out of it so the amount it costs doesn’t balance well at all for the time I would get to play so I just wouldn’t do it. Sadly looks as though I’ll find another app with the same mechanics as I always skip through the story so I can get to the levels hence making the game short. As well as that, I have accumulated so many coins but have no clue what to spend them on. I can’t find anything that accepts coins in the app so if that could be clarified that would be great. Does it take watching ads? Paying for access? No idea, the game doesn't tell me. It was nice to know I wasn’t going to be stopped from playing the game, unlike most other games that use an energy system. Just seems like you’re trying to encourage players to spend money to play longer - just another greedy money grab. ### 4/5 — Fantastic but the new update slightly ruins it *2023-04-07, version 5.1.2* I love this game and have sunk loads of time into it- everything is very polished, the gameplay is fun but not repetitive and the story is well written and engaging. The newest update has some good quality of life stuff (i.e. earning coins from levels and the same with stars) but the new energy system is something I’m not a fan of. It limits how much I can play and the amount that you can buy in the store is pretty minimal- I’d love for this feature to be reworked (maybe make it so story levels need energy but the photo ones don’t?) or completely removed back to how it was. Don’t get me wrong, I love this game and will definitely continue to play often, but the limits imposed by the new system will sadly lower the amount considerably. ### 4/5 — Long wait between games *2023-03-17* I love the game. But when I finished the first investigation, it took weeks to get enough points to start a new investigation. I’m still not sure how to earn enough points to continue. I ended up sitting out the game while I got a point each day. I almost deleted the whole game! **Developer response:** Greetings KoalaCaye, Thank you for your review. We understand that the game might not have the most obvious user experience. Good news: why we are working on a major update (ETA: a few weeks) that will - hopefully - fix your issue. Meanwhile, here are the different ways to earn stars and unlock new episodes: - "Pull" a photo at the shooting range with tokens earned from completed episodes or with the daily rewarded ad (everyday you can watch an ad to get a shot) - Play all 10 levels of your unlocked photos - If you have enough coins, you can directly purchase photos. Ads in question display lewd fox girls with seductive catchphrases. Even better, I can sell my data just so they aren’t exposed to that! WOW! ### 1/5 — Caricature of Caribbean People *2023-03-15* I found the game entertaining until later in the first investigation when Ted and Pepero appear as witnesses. Ted is a poor, stereotyping interpretation of Caribbean (specifically Jamaican) people and their language. His use of patois is terrible, he frequently says “mha-aan” (mon), and the game implies he smokes marijuana to “keep him irie.” I found his character offensive and not entertaining at all. I couldn’t get past the dialogue and deleted the game. **Developer response:** Hello BobbyBih,Thanks for sharing your opinion. We understand that the first episode of the game won't please everybody. Usually with stories and especially characters, it's either love it or hate it. That's why we have built a "skip" button that can be used until reaching the next episode. I’ve been playing this for well over a year now but all of a sudden there is a limit on ‘energy’ so I can’t play more than 5 levels without having to either wait or pay. Also the number of adverts has been doubled. You know the old saying, if it isn’t broken don’t try to fix it? Perhaps you need to take note of this. You have turned a five star game into a 1 or 2 star game through your greed and profiteering. Then this came out and I fell even more in love! I hope that more stories are coming! Now I love it and it’s part of my daily plays. The mechanics are great! I would like to see the row/column numbers larger because the bigger grids are hard to work with. Half of my mistakes are due to fat fingers. EDIT (January 2024): I see the devs are still coming out with updates. However, I’m as far as I can go in the game. Is this a known bug or error that others are getting? It’s saying that I haven’t yet collected all the stars. I was looking for a different come solving game with a similar name and came across this one! I’m so glad I did!! It’s one of the most played games on my phone! I have finished all of the games easy, medium, and hard on all of the stories! I even completed the side story on there. I can’t wait for the update to hit!! Truth be told about the music, we don't have our own music composer. Instead we purchase and handpick all the songs from a website (melodyloops if you are curious). The "Prodigy Math" game you mentioned probably had the same idea.
