At this point, I’d much rather just pay and not have to deal with any for the headache and disruption that the ads cause. Like seriously. This has yet to be fixed unfortunately. ### 2/5 — Great app but.. *2026-07-23* The app is great and very informative and has great practice test that you can use and learn from to make you prepared for the DMV written test. But the adds are too repetitive and for me in particular the adds stop me from moving on to the next question and sometimes they sit over the question or the “next question” button in an overlay format so if I click the “next question” button it’ll send me to a 3rd party link to the add on the screen. Which is very irritating at times because to troubleshoot the issue is exit out the entire app and reload it back up. If there was a predetermined way how the adds were displayed or even if there was a small fee to completely remove them entirely would be fine aswell. It’s an issue I do hope could be fixed soon. ### 2/5 — Cdl testing *2026-07-16* Whoever is the head engineer for this app you should fire them and get a new one that can help your program stop having the ads interrupt in the process of learning. Not being able to go to the next question or answer a question bear the ads assess in the way and you have to kit clicking the ads to get them off the screen is annoying. The material is great and I found this to be the best site but the bugs that’s in it dying make it worth it sometimes. ### 3/5 — Ad problem continues *2026-07-11* I read a review from a few months back saying that the ads that would populate in the app would take over the entire screen making it impossible to test, however the app developer commented a new update fixed the problem. THE PROBLEM IS STILL THERE!!! ### 2/5 — Ads are serious problem *2026-06-26* An ad will cover up the whole screen and you can’t skip it or get around it. I’m looking at reviews from February and it said that yall should’ve fixed it but still hasn’t been fixed. The questions seem accurate but getting interrupted every minute by these ads is frustrating. ### 2/5 — Ads getting in the way *2026-05-19* I see that this has been a problem. I also see that supposedly it has been fixed months ago. But I just downloaded this app the other day. Ads are horrible on here. You can’t click on an answer or next question without opening up ads. It works for a couple questions but then the ads take over the screen and you can’t do anything, just sit and wait. If it was a paid app with no ads I would defiantly pay for it, but as it sits now it’s not usable. ### 1/5 — Ads still take up entire screen and can’t be X’d out *2026-04-22* So, last night I used this app for probably 4 hours to study for my CLP, and I didn’t encounter any ads that took up the entire screen and couldn’t be X’d out. Then, today, I started doing an Air Brakes practice test, and got Like 3 questions in and a giant advertisement popped up that I couldn’t exit out of. So, I had to back out of the app and of course, lost my progress on the test. This is super annoying! To the devs: atleast make a paid add-on where you can pay for no adds. That would atleast make it somewhat better.. I have my CLP coming up and I’m in school 8 hours a day studying and coming home to do practice tests and study more on this app. Last thing I wanna deal with is wasted time on a practice test because of a ad that can’t be exited. **Developer response:** Please give it another try, the next attempt on removing these invasive ads is now in place and running full force. There is a possibility that you will not run into those full page ads again. We really do apologize for the inconvenience, and hope you rock your CLP tests. ### 2/5 — Ads *2026-04-16, version 2.3* Great app for quizzing yourself for CPL or CDL training. Absolutely horrendous ad placements. It is ridiculous. How the ads will take up half the screen there during a test genuinely you should feel ashamed of yourself for setting it up like that. Literally every 3 seconds some dumb chicken advertisement pops up and blocks the question and answers. Then when it finally goes away it’s back 3 seconds later. The amount of pop up ads that distract you from actually learning the test questions is completely ridiculous. I can understand watching an ad after you have completed a practice test to see your results. But during the test questions? Come on. I would not recommend this app to anyone. **Developer response:** Unfortunately there should be no pop up ads, no ads that cover the page, or hide the test questions and answers. We have found a solution, and are in the process of implementing the change, but it isn't a easy fix. Unlike the ads it covers the screen making it impossible to answer. There is no way to go back or anything so progress is lost. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Only forces you to watch ads, progress is impossible *2026-08-14* This app is marketed as a CDL question practice tool, but all it really does is force you to watch ads. Every time you try to answer a question or move forward, another ad pops up. Progress is nearly impossible. You can barely finish a single test in a whole day. It’s clearly built only for ad revenue. Zero real user experience, zero educational value. What you download thinking it’s a study tool is just an ad-watching machine. The developers clearly don’t care about users at all. With this aggressive advertising and constant blocking, the app is completely useless. Don’t waste your time or money — just delete it. Strongly not recommended. ### 1/5 — Ads galore! *2026-08-04* Immediately upon opening a test, on the website or in the app, you get bombarded with ads to the point you can’t even click the answer to a question, or click next question. Especially the New Orleans ad. Wow I have never seen so many ads on an app, or anything for that matter. I understand it’s a free app and you make money from the ads, but at this point it’s more like a spam app set up strictly to generate income from ads than it is an actual helpful tool. I’ll never recommend this to anyone. The app presents itself like a scam rather than a learning app. ### 1/5 — Great resource terrible ads *2026-07-28* I used to use this website to help pass my CDL and it was amazing.. I loved it.. but now I’m upgrading my CDL and I hate it.. too many ads. It makes it impossible to take tests on there because I can’t even read what it says or click on next questions. It makes me sad because this is one of the best out there.. I’m not using this resource until this gets fixed this is horrible. Y’all let a perfectly good resource go down the drain. You should be ashamed of yourself. ### 1/5 — HORRIBLE AD PLACEMENT *2026-07-23* The website is wonderful but I wanted to get the app so I could practice on my breaks at work. I’ll get to whatever test I’m wanting to do and I’ll only be able to answer one question because the next question button is literally under a giant ad. Again the WEBSITE is amazing the the app is god awful. I’d even be willing to pay for no ads but even that isn’t an option. ### 1/5 — Was Good For a While *2026-07-13* The tests are great and super helpful but unfortunately it doesn’t really matter when you cannot use them. The ads are so bad that it often removes an entire part of the screen causing the questions, answers, or submit/next button to disappear. Sometimes it’s all of these. Makes it completely unusable and there is no way to close the ads. ### 1/5 — Ads Pop up and don’t go away *2026-06-25* Honestly never used a app that claims to help you but when you start the questions they have ads that pop up and block the questions. You have to be the most patient person to be waiting till the ads want to go away then pop up 15 seconds later I genuinely can not use this app because of how many ads. ### 1/5 — Adds *2026-06-06* Fix the add I’m half way through one test and I get a add from some random bs and takes up the screen and I can’t click off of it I haft to stop what I’m doing question are accurate the ad just ruined it and I can’t take the test properly and focus on it, but I get an ad for sports clips. Screws it all up. Do anything about it there’s no option to click off of it I don’t even mind that there’s ads on it it just screen and you can’t do anything about it. It also consumes an absurd amount of data (gigabytes), which is very suspicious. Feels misleading and potentially fraudulent. Avoid. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Best free CDL study tool, period. *2026-02-26, version 2.3* 2-26-2026, none of the previous issues with ads exist. Crist is very responsive and helpful when there is confusion. Some of the questions/answers aren’t logical but do accurately reflect what you will see on the real test. There are several versions of each test and this will indeed help you pass every exam and endorsement test. ### 5/5 — Amazing minus ads *2026-02-09, version 2.1* Just took my general, passenger, and air brake tests and passed them all first try just from doing these. And i’m so appreciative of this resource literally being FREE! Thank you Crist Family :) ### 5/5 — No issues *2025-06-10, version 2.1* I just took the General Knowledge, Air Brakes, School Bus, Passenger, and Pre-trip test with no issues. In fact I had to walk away a couple of times and my phone screen turned off and I was certain that I would have to restart - but I didn’t. I was leery of the app because of the reviews. I have had no issues with the tests on the computer, but I wanted the ease of taking them on my phone. Especially when I’ll have to sit for hours in the DMV waiting to be able to take my test. I’m not sure if the bugs have been fixed or the bad reviews had another issue going on but I’d say give it a try. I’m thankful there is a free option as good as this. ### 5/5 — It helped me to pass my permit for the CDL *2025-03-09, version 2.1* After I did resigned with the bus operator job in November 2024.I’d start studying with this app and it really did help me to pass my permit.Now am studying for my CDL license ### 5/5 — CDL passed the exam *2025-01-23, version 2.0* I trained for a couple of days and passed the exam on the first try. UPDATE - app is still a not buggy but I have changed my rating because using the app enabled me to pass all three CLP tests and all three endorsement test. **Developer response:** We are working to stop the ads from taking over the whole page, and do apologize because it is not how we intend the app to behave.
