Terrible implementation, decent flashcards for solidifying knowledge. ### 2/5 — App does not work well *2023-06-06* Flashcards questions and answers are not matched. When you click show answer for question ten it shows you the answer for question four. There’s no way to quickly find the correct answer so you have to look through the cards to find it. Not sure why this isn’t already in the app because quizlet and every other notecard quizzing apps already have this.... 2) You should be able to quiz more than one topic area at the same time. Currently you can only quiz one topic area or all topic areas. What if I just want to study evidence and property? Merge with Quizlet and it would be perfect ### 2/5 — Missing obvious, easy to implement features. *2020-09-24, version 4.2.4* The cards have too much information on the back of them to make them truly useful as a flash card. So, the quiz me function, which breaks the cards down and asks me questions about them, should help, right? NO. You can’t get the app to quiz you on only your problem areas. So, for example, if I’m having a hard time with foreclosure and mortgage rules for property on the bar exam, I can’t make the quiz me function only ask me questions on those subjects. I have to be quizzed on every subject in property law, which is hundreds of questions. This ruined the app for me. Without this function, I only use the app for quick reference because the cards have too much info on the back. ### 4/5 — Real human voice please *2020-05-29, version 4.2* The content and structure of the cards seem to be on point. The app is generally easy to use and intuitive. BUT that computer voice that reads the cards is just horrendous. Please can we get either a better bot voice or just a recording of an actual human reading the cards?? The app immediately closes as soon as I open it. ### 4/5 — useful for solidifying knowledge *2018-06-01, version 3.0.1* I only recently got the app and am currently studying for the bar but so far I have found the cards are great and app is easy to use. Some reviewers mentioned that there is too much information on the back of the card but I have not found that to be the case— I personally prefer having more information than less and it’s just enough material for each term to help me nail down the concepts. I’m using barbri as a prep course and don’t like the cards that come with their course but dont have time to make my own. These cards track the information and material in my course outlines closely and supplement very well. ### 3/5 — Content is solid, app is not *2018-03-05, version 3.0.1* I am reviewing the app, as the content of the material is very good in comparison to other tools. The app lacks a few things that make them usable consistently. First, there is no way to bookmark where you are. With hundreds of cards, this is critical for ongoing studies. Second, the highlight function is near unusable. The select and drag is not normal. Something is wrong as it takes tens of seconds to try and get the right area highlighted. Critical for quick studying needs. Again, this is critical to quick study and practice. Third, it cannot remember anything from device to device. Although it knows I am logged into my phone and forces me to re-login on my iPad, it cannot show me highlights from the phone or ‘starred’ areas? Finally, unless I missed it, I cannot go to an area with all highlights. You can access starred areas and notes from the menu, but NOT highlights. This means that you need to star every card you put a highlight for this to be reasonable.... Come on. I need this to be quick, intuitive and reusable for the depth of studying being done. As a key selling point, this app should be easier to use and have better design. ### 4/5 — Please support the iPhone X UI *2018-01-16, version 2.6.8* Good app ### 1/5 — New update crashes on iPad *2017-06-29, version 2.6.7* The new update crashes on iPad. Every Time I attempt to open the app it quits. This is ridiculous. The bar exam is less than a month away and I can't access the cards I paid $99 for. ### 3/5 — Crashes *2017-06-29, version 2.6.7* Was working great until an update occurred and now the newest version keeps crashing on my iPod. Please fix this asap. Also while it is workable I dislike the highlighting function. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — 3 separate payments, no product *2024-06-05* I just saw that Critical Pass charged my credit card for two separate payments of $128 and a third payment for $233. The problem is that I still do not have access to the digital cards. The digital flash cards only go up to the 5th card. There is no way to resolve the issue in an efficient way and so I am left with leaving a negative review, which I hope would make them attend to the issue. ### 1/5 — No MPRE *2023-07-23* Latest update removed MPRE. This company keeps removing things or asking you to pay for cards you already paid for. It’s a scam. Make your own flash cards ### 1/5 — Bad Customer Service and Shoddy App *2022-07-01, version 4.4.4* The information and flash cards are great but you can’t use the app for review because after you do a quiz the review pane shows different questions that those you were quizzed on. And there’s obviously no other qualitative tracking so you’re left to guess at the ones you missed or keep track of them on your own. Why would you pay money for that? I explained the situation to the customer support and they simply stopped responding to me. ### 1/5 — Do not purchase - App is unusable *2022-06-18, version 4.4.4* There are 1450 questions for the MBE, but there’s no way to save your place, so in order to see all the cards you would have to answer all 1450 in one sitting! There is also no way to remove questions from the deck that you’ve answer correctly. These would be ridiculously easy changes to make, but without them the app is unusable. It’s really a shame, because the cards are good. It is mind-boggling that they haven’t figured this out. Until Critical Pass makes these easy changes to the app so that it’s actually useful, it is not worth purchasing. I’ll be asking for a refund. ### 1/5 — Love the physical cards, but app never works *2021-07-24, version 4.4.4* I truly love the Critical Pass flashcards, and I bought them full price specifically so that I could use the app. However any time I try to get passed the first few flashcards it reloads and wants me to log in or purchase. Every. Time. I tried to send user feedback, but that also kicked me out. Happened after an update (which I’m seeing is a problem for others as well) and there is no record of my account or email apparently so nothing can connect me to that previous purchase. I have no hope. ### 1/5 — Charged My Card But Gives No Access *2019-07-09, version 4.0.4* I’ve purchased the cards and purchased the app access (which I am not regretting). However, despite numerous exchanges with a customer representative (who has now ceased to respond to my messages) I cannot access the full set of cards on app. They insinuate that I must not be logging in or I’m doing something wrong. Fact is, I paid for a good and service and received neither. I’m trying to study and use this app because it’s convenient and necessary for the times I cannot bring my box of cards with me to work. This is unacceptable and I hope this will be fixed. The layout of the app itself and the content is worthy of 4 stars but the customer service and actual accessibility of the app is 0. If this is actually remedied I will update the review. Professional! ### 5/5 — Bugs fixed - great app *2020-06-08, version 4.2.1* There were a couple crashing bugs when I initially downloaded the app. I reached out to customer support letting them know about the bugs and they quickly updated the app. It works perfectly now and I use it every day as a supplement to my bar prep course. Now, 3 years later, I will be taking a second state's exam and I am confident these cards will help. Here's why-- 1. You can work on memorizing rules for the MBE/MEE anywhere, anytime. 2. You don't have to create your own flashcards. 3. Unlike some popular bar prep materials, Critical Pass arranges information in a concise way that reveals the interrelationships between subtopics. I wish I could explain it better; you just have to see it for yourself. Recognizing those interrelationships, or connections, helps you better learn the material. 4.
