### 2/5 — Doesn’t load controller to collection

*2025-04-01, version 1.0.201*

I tried to add one of my controller’s to my collection but it’s been stuck on the loading screen for about 5 minutes. I can’t tell if this is natural or a bug? If it’s a bug, please fix this.

### 4/5 — Can’t type in search bar

*2025-02-19, version 1.0.201*

I can’t type in the search bar because it just crashes on me but it’s such a cool product :(

### 4/5 — App is decent enough

*2025-01-21, version 1.0.195*

I agree with another reviewer— tough crowd. But my experience with the app wasn’t entirely smooth regardless.

Eventually I managed to scan in the CRKD Atom I have to my collection, but only after a few failed attempts first. I think it’s just a matter of knowing where your NFC sensor is on your model of phone. When in doubt, look it up and try again.

Something I thought was a bit weird was how this app records video reactions to rarity reveal. I guess I would have cared as a naive kid, but as an adult I think it’s a bit silly. To each their own though. I just like the clean controller designs.

### 3/5 — Cannot tap scan device

*2025-01-05, version 1.0.195*

App seems decent enough to navigate until you look for help, trying to add my device to the “collection” and continues to give me an error message saying please turn on Bluetooth to tap device. Bluetooth is clearly on, this maybe due to the phone is new? Guess IPhone 16 isn’t supported?

### 2/5 — Connectivity issues!!

*2024-12-05, version 1.0.191*

Every time I try to remap the back and front buttons I lose connection within the app and the nitro deck + disconnects is really disappointing because I want to like this product.

### 3/5 — App is good, but recent update…

*2024-06-05, version 1.0.158*

But recent update with support for Nitro Deck + (which I have coming from my preorder) says that’s the app update is not compatible with my device. It then links me to the devices that are compatible, which includes my device funnily enough (iPhone 14 Pro Max). Please fix before I get my Nitro Deck + so I can scan it into the app and be happy :)

### 3/5 — Nice controller at least

*2024-05-23, version 1.0.144*

This app’s priorities are messed up in the absolute most hilarious loser techbro way. If you’ve ever thought, “man, I wish physical game controllers could adopt the same manufactured-rarity pyramid scheme economics of the extremely brief NFT boom” then this is the only app for you. If you don’t care about any of that nonsense and just want to remap the buttons on your CRKD controller, this unfortunately is also the only app for you. Other things of note: 1. it’s just a dumb BT controller. It shouldn’t be this hard to connect it to an app. Usually takes me four or five attempts to get it to stick. 2. The first time I got it to connect, it ran a firmware update and then crashed directly to the springboard in the middle of said firmware update. Thankfully everything is fine, but for a brief moment I was super worried about having to return it and lose my extremely coveted diamond rarity status. 3. What’s up with this logo? This has some serious “The CTO’s nephew is going to State University for graphic design next year” energy. 4. I’m sorry. I can’t get over the NFT thing so I’m going to keep roasting it: The thing is, the controller is actually really nice so the company itself isn’t an outright scam. Was this a situation where all you wanted to do was make quality hardware, but none of the VC ghouls would fund a single idea unless it had a Silicon Valley grift attached to it? Hopefully y’all hit that ROI before you’re forced to cram “AI” into your next product. 5. Screw it. I’ll just say what everyone’s thinking. It’s the Dead Kennedys logo. I’m sorry but your CTO’s nephew just made the Dead Kennedys logo.

### 2/5 — Create account doesn't work

*2024-05-08, version 1.0.134*

For starters. Why should I even need an account to update my firmware? 8BitDo doesn't force this sort of privacy invasion on its end users. There's absolutely no reason (other than selling your data - IE money) this should be required. That said it does work.

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless app to a good product

*2024-03-31, version 1.0.108*

I like the Nitro Deck. I almost never play the Switch handheld but this changed that.
But what’s the point of this app?
You put out a firmware update for the deck, but doesn’t have Mac support. You have an app with NFC function, but can’t update the deck with it.
And who is actually registering their nitro decks on here? Cryto bros? What makes you think I care to register an accessory to a 7-year old console that already has rumors of a successor?
Don’t bother getting this app unless you get a warm fuzzy feeling having someone tell you that controller you bought is special and yours is the only one in the whole wide world.

### 1/5 — Why?

*2024-01-13, version 1.0.108*

I downloaded this application to see if it would allow me to update my Nitro Decks firmware without needing to use a computer. But it’s just a registration tool that wants access to the camera and microphone for no good reason.

### 1/5 — “Tap device requires NFC support” error

*2024-01-12, version 1.0.108*

Doesn’t work on iPhone 12

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No Thanks

*2026-05-25, version 1.0.343*

So I have to spend over $100 to buy a guitar controller that has app integration for some features, then I can only have access to those features if I create an account? If it was about adding value, it shouldn’t require a login. I’m not agreeing to your usage permissions and giving away my analytics data. Thanks but no thanks. Make it available without a login!

### 1/5 — Wtf permissions?!

*2025-12-30, version 1.0.319*

It asks for permission to record the screen and system audio; there is no rational reason for this permission whatsoever.

It also asks for Bluetooth permission, even to register non Bluetooth devices. Not necessary but does allow the app to build a location profile!

Don’t install this app it’s spyware.

### 1/5 — Frustrating experience right from the start

*2025-10-21, version 1.0.279*

I couldn’t even get past the login screen. I’m SO tired of apps forcing account creation just to access basic features. I want to interact with the product—not hand over personal information before I even know if it’s worth it.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth doesn’t work

*2025-07-27, version 1.0.241*

To register a controller you need to have Bluetooth on and it asks you to turn it on, but even when it’s on the app doesn’t recognize it, which makes the app useless, please fix this

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-06-26, version 1.0.201*

Total garbage all. App doesn’t seem to work. I’ve turned on Bluetooth and paired it with my NEO S, but the app repeatedly gives a pop up saying turn on Bluetooth. There’s no work around. The app simply doesn’t even recognize the Bluetooth that it requires. So the whole process of tapping the iPhone to the back of the crkd controller to register the device is dead. The app cannot even recognize that the phone is connected via Bluetooth already.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2025-06-21*

### 1/5 — NFT controllers lol??

*2025-02-22, version 1.0.201*

Ridiculous app that requires logging in and device pairing to account in order to change controller settings. I will not be buying from this company in the future

### 1/5 — Seriously?

*2025-01-21, version 1.0.195*

I had an account now I don’t apparently. Trying to sign in with a different Google account is impossible with their stupid auto log in every time I press Google.

### 1/5 — Issues with connect the app with the Nitro Deck +

*2024-12-27, version 1.0.195*

Recently got the Nitro Deck + for Christmas and when I tried to program using the app, it would not sync with it and constantly received “Connection Lost” messages.

### 1/5 — Worthless app

*2024-11-18, version 1.0.178*

This app has no worth at all. I purchased a controller to use with my phone. It works on less than half the games I own. The app has no features for on screen button mapping to help with games that don’t support controllers. All you can to is shop and check out social media for the company. And my controller won’t show up in the app. Waste of time.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — WOW

*2026-05-21, version 1.0.343*

I didn’t think a guitar controller needed an app and it’s just perfect. But I wish the app was on pc cus the app is slow and doesn’t work well cus in my area

### 5/5 — Worked great

*2026-02-22, version 1.0.327*

I don’t understand the negative comments because my set up was easy and went smooth. Nice app for an ever nicer product! I love my atom controller/key chain!

### 5/5 — Very functional, very useful

*2026-01-20, version 1.0.327*

Does everything it says it would. Just a plain good app.

### 5/5 — So Cool

*2026-01-06, version 1.0.319*

I Love this app

### 5/5 — Easy to Use

*2025-08-12, version 1.0.241*

I set my guitar up in minutes, and it works flawlessly.

### 5/5 — Cool experience

*2024-07-29*

Love the collectible nature & the new updates allow to you to customize your controller settings

### 5/5 — Great app with more to come.

*2024-06-05, version 1.0.158*

I love this company and the products they sell. The app works amazing with the Neo s and soon the nitro + which I don’t have yet. I do wish I could move and sort my devices as I want. But that’s the only complaint. My favorite part is the ranking.

### 5/5 — Tough crowd - the app works great

*2024-05-03, version 1.0.134*

I’m here to bring some joy into this review group.

I purchased a Neo S controller and the app works seamlessly. It kind weird it wants access to your video, camera, and photos so that it can make interaction video while you look up your devices rarity but… you don’t have to do any of that and can skip it if you want. Through the app, I’m able to tweak and tune my controllers vibration, trigger sensitivity, button layouts, firmware update, and more. It’s nice having deep links to the product manual and store page. I’ll be using this app much more because while you can do most of these actions using a combo of button presses… the amount of button press combos is absolutely insane and tuning your controller via the app is so much easier.

### 5/5 — Nice

*2024-04-09, version 1.0.108*

Nice new features and integrated shop.

### 5/5 — 5 Stars for Nitro deck.

*2023-10-27, version 1.0.104*

Love the Nitro deck. Iv started playing more on my Nintendo Switch since iv got the nitro deck. Would love to see thumb sticks in the shop on the app so I can try the other ones out. Iv got the white deck which came with the one pair on it. How long will it be before we can buy them from you? Not long I hope😭 Great job guys👍👍👍
