### 2/5 — Quit working

*2020-12-05*

This app was very helpful but it has quit working. I deleted it and reinstalled it but it is no longer finding my location it just keeps saying error.

### 2/5 — Information is Semi Accurate

*2020-09-05, version 1.3.3*

My location is New England, Nantasket Beach, Hull, Ma. The wave height is often inaccurate, 𝙊𝙛𝙛 line, or not reporting. Last week the wave height reported to be 1.3’. But when I checked the Hull Surf Cam it looked like a live stream from Hawaii. It’s still at 1.3 ‘ today.

### 3/5 — Tide Cycle Curve has Disappeared

*2020-08-27, version 1.3.3*

Have used this app for 5 years but now the sine curve showing tide cycle won’t appear. Have deleted and reinstalled app on both mine and wife’s iPhones to no avail.

### 2/5 — Tide graph missing

*2020-08-23, version 1.3.3*

love the app for surfing conditions but most recently tide graph no longer displays?!

### 3/5 — missing water temp feature on watch

*2020-06-24, version 1.3.3*

app is great, but no water temp available on watch version???

### 3/5 — Needs to be able to track your current location!!!

*2019-12-27*

It’s would be awesome if you could have it track your current location and give you the closest report ! Would be Epic !

### 3/5 — What’s the water temp???

*2019-07-13*

Pretty good app to see what’s happening in real-time. However, the water temp seems questionable. I just checked Scripps and LJ Shores (they’re literally right next to each other), and one is showing 70deg while the other shows 60deg. Unless there is extremely isolated upwelling (or downwelling) going on, I’d have to really question this.

### 4/5 — This is one of the few apps with ocean side stations near me

*2019-05-26*

Pretty good design, and one of the few with ocean side stations near me (apparently not all apps have the same station lists!). Wish it would show water temp on the watch. Also, I wish it were possible to see a more condensed view on the phone (instead of having to tap through to see wind, water, etc). It’s not perfect, but seems to be the best app in the category currently.

### 2/5 — Phone yes, Watch no

*2019-02-09, version 1.3.3*

Simple, but works good on your phone. Does not work on the Apple Watch. Since it is the only wave app that works on the Apple Watch, this is of course disappointing.

### 3/5 — Last update a year ago

*2018-11-22*

Is this app still being updated and did the watch part of it (the coolest feature) ever get revamped to update current swell reports?

### 4/5 — Clean and beautiful interface

*2018-11-15*

Minimal design experience which I love. Everything you need is there and nothing you don’t.... well almost...I don’t need to know the swell direction in degrees general direction is enough, I wager most other surfers, waterman don’t either. Would much prefer a water temp report in place of swell degrees. Other than that great app.

### 4/5 — Just Swell!

*2018-08-23*

This little app really works. It tells me just what I need to know for my local break and it’s easy to add others I keep tabs on.

### 4/5 — Good, but...

*2018-07-15, version 1.3.3*

Developers need to write code that enables a father tide prediction than 12 hours. Then I’ll give 5 stars. Also, it’s difficult to find the settings (gear icon). It’s hidden in the upper left.

### 3/5 — Needs updating

*2018-07-12*

Great app that works well with the watch, but it needs an update. For the past few weeks, the app hasn’t updated any of my saved beaches. Still showing 10.8 at Dillons with 0.0 period. That’s not right and I would really like a fix.

### 2/5 — What’s wrong with Apple Watch??

*2018-06-11, version 1.3.3*

Hi
Everything work very well on iPhone
But on Apple Watch impossible to have temperatures of water !!
And with series 2 and series 3 ...
so thanks to fix that quickly and I’ll put 5 after 😉

### 2/5 — Best surf app that rarely works

*2018-06-07*

This is an amazing surf app, that looks beautiful, and integrates with the Apple watch faces. The only downside is that is hardly ever works on the watch. Which is a shame, because that's the coolest part of it. It will work great for a while, and then not work for a few months, then it starts working again. Seems to be the common user experience for the last couple years. I sure hope they fix this sometime.

### 3/5 — Swell period is broken

*2018-04-11, version 1.3.3*

Swell period always shows as 0.0 Sec. This is likely a bug. Also the Apple watch app does not show the swell direction.

### 3/5 — Good App but hardly ever works on Watch

*2018-03-07*

We live about two blocks from the Atlantic so I like this app for a quick way to check the surf as well as the tides if I take the dogs swimming.

The only downfall (first world problem, I know) is it hardly EVER shows up on the iWatch. I have turned on location services, reinstalled, reset, sacrificed a goat, and done everything I know to do. It will sometimes decide to appear for a few hours and then return to a dash symbol and when I tap it, I get a message to “add spots to iPhone”...which I have... slightly annoying but I’ll probably keep using it.

### 3/5 — Won’t sync with iwatch

*2018-02-16*

Got this app to have a simple at a glance view of the swell at my favorite spots. No matter what I try I can’t get it to sync with the iwatch. Taken it on and off the watch. Reset the watch. Turned the app on/off on phone. Etc. works fine on phone but that’s not what I want it for. Just will not show up in the complication

Edit:you have to turn on the local spots and allow the location services in the app on the phone. Then it will show up. Poor documentation.

### 3/5 — Good but slow or doesn’t update as complication on watch

*2018-01-23*

I like the idea of this app but it’s slow or doesn’t update on Apple Watch. It always says to “add some spots on iPhone app then check back here “

### 4/5 — Great, but Okay on Apple Watch

*2018-01-11*

This is a great surf forecast app for me, at least. I look for a simplistic design that I can just take a peak at and know everything. This is the perfect app for that. What makes it even better is that it is compatible with Apple Watch. I surf extremely often and being apple to look at the face of my watch and know the surf report without buying an expensive watch built specifically for surfing is a huge plus. However, on Apple Watch, there is a small issue with it updating on the watch face. If you come across this problem you simply need to open the app and it will be fixed. If that does not work, try to reset the watch. If you are just looking for an app for your non-wearable devices, this is without a doubt your best bet. I have tried almost every app out there and nothing can stand a chance against this one. All in all, this app’s simplistic yet accurate design makes it rise above all others. Although, expect small lags on Apple Watch.

### 4/5 — Love it but not working on Apple Watch Series 3

*2017-12-27*

Love this app and been using it on my Apple Watch Series 1 flawlessly for a couple years. Yesterday I picked up a Series 3 Watch and the Watch app doesn’t appear to be working at all. I’ve uninstalled and restarted, etc. That and the tide chart/reports are the best things about this app. Hopefully it starts to work soon! 🤙

### 4/5 — Awesome app. Just needs a bit of a fix.

*2017-09-25*

I have a new Apple Watch with LTE and this up makes my watch a lot more useful during surf time. Everything is so good! BUT I wish a few things were different. The complication option, I think the next tide should be there instead of the period. Also, and most importantly, the complication doesn’t work half of the time. Please fix that. Thanks so much for making it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — CRNT

*2020-11-21, version 1.3.3*

No longer works?

### 1/5 — Wrong tide info

*2019-10-08, version 1.3.3*

The tide data is reversed and off by hours. I looked at the next beach (6 miles away) and the tide for there was 1.5 hours off from the incorrect tide at my beach.

### 1/5 — Does this work on iWatch?

*2019-10-05, version 1.3.3*

Just downloaded to use with watch, but the app doesn’t show up. Seems like a nice interface, and I was excited to use it but I can’t rate this app if it doesn’t work on the watch as it states.

### 1/5 — Like it when it works but rarely does

*2018-08-04, version 1.3.3*

Doesn’t load information.

### 1/5 — Surf App

*2018-07-16, version 1.3.3*

It’s seems to be stuck at 3ft for El Porto and 4ft for County line ???

*2017-08-26, version 1.3.2*

Doesn't work!

### 1/5 — No good for south Tx

*2017-06-29, version 1.3.2*

This app doesn't have some of the major areas for south Texas surfing spots.

*2016-10-21, version 1.3.1*

Doesn't work

### 1/5 — Richi

Not working properly: nothing is showing except the air temperature

### 1/5 — Still not useful period data for surfers

*2016-06-17, version 1.3.0*

Please change to dominant period instead of average period (which nobody uses). Thank you!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Favorite Apple Watch app!

*2017-08-12*

Favorite Apple Watch app by far. Always know what the surfs doing when I'm at work so I can plan for after work. Most used complication too

### 5/5 — Great for Apple Watch

*2017-06-28*

This works perfectly on my new Apple Watch. Simple and seems to be accurate for my local break conditions.

### 5/5 — Simple and Beautiful

*2017-06-23*

Perfect surf conditions app. None of the excessive clutter of the other major apps in this category. I'd pay more for this app.

### 5/5 — Really clean ui

*2017-05-14, version 1.3.2*

Super clean UI, great apl

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2017-05-04, version 1.3.2*

Working great so far!

### 5/5 — Great

*2017-03-19, version 1.3.2*

It's a great app. Good design and easy to read.

### 5/5 — Great!!

*2016-11-29, version 1.3.1*

Such a clean, minimal design that allows me to see everything I need and nothing I don't. I really like how I can see the swell direction compared to wind direction visually. And of course, being able to check the surf quickly on my Apple Watch is awesome. The watch app can be a bit buggy at times. Overall it's a pretty perfect app for a simple surf check. Thanks dudes!

### 5/5 — Problem solved.

*2016-08-27, version 1.3.0*

It worked great for 2 weeks, now it doesn't even say anything but location error and doesn't show me anything else. I've tried deleting and reinstalling same thing. Please fix the app and I'll fix this review. Thank you. It works again!!!! Thank you.

### 5/5 — So simple yet so perfect

*2016-07-14, version 1.3.0*

This has become my go-to app for checking conditions. The simplicity is what makes it so powerful. I can quickly check the conditions around town and know instantly what board to take and where to go out.

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2016-01-08, version 1.1*

The app is very easy to use,and accurate as well! There aren't a million things on the home page like Surfline.

If you're an Apple Watch user too, it's just as good there! Very easy displays to read right on your wrist! I love clicking on it and seeing the tide display they offer on the watch.
