### 3/5 — Great in idea, but kinda janky

*2026-01-12, version 2.0.10*

I greatly appreciate the idea of an app for posting to Bluesky and Mastodon at once, as well as in general a posting-only app so I can make posts but avoid looking at my timeline.

However I have brought up the problem of Mastodon posts being capped to 500 characters several times. Despite being acknowledged as an issue since some Mastodon instances permit more than 500 characters, as of the current version, posts are still capped at 500 characters.

### 2/5 — Unable to Add Threads

*2025-08-11, version 1.6.3*

I like this app a lot, I’m able to post from Bluesky and Threads on my MacBook but when it comes to doing it on my phone, it doesn’t work.. I’m trying to add my threads account and all I get is a blank page.

### 2/5 — Simple, great UX but functionality issues and major bugs hold this app back

*2025-06-07, version 1.6*

Videos doesn’t seem to post to any platform. Tested with a 2 minute video that was successfully uploaded via each platform’s native apps, but would take forever (with no progress bar) and eventually fail to post to each of the three supported platforms using Croissant.

Posts with URL attachments will sometimes not load the preview, and when posting to Bluesky the post is likely to fail. Going back to the failed draft, adding a space and deleting the space and then retrying to post to Bluesky seems to push it through, but the need to post twice defeats the purpose of this app. Once these major bugs are resolved, I’ll be very satisfied with my license purchase!

### 2/5 — So. Many. Issues.

*2025-06-01, version 1.6*

I was happy to buy a license when this was first released but the updates aren’t dry frequent and there are so many issues posting. They are mostly with Bluesky but posting there rarely works. I’ve tried my regular user name and password and even used an app specific password and have experienced nothing but issues. On the other hand I have used another app for Bluesky and once I provided it with an app specific password it has never had an issue. Someone has figured it out but it wasn’t the more expensive of the two apps.

### 2/5 — Used to be great now broken, still supported??

*2025-04-28, version 1.5.7*

This worked great and saved me a ton of time for several months but now it won’t post to Threads and constantly crashes. Reinstall does nothing, I want to believe 😥😢🫠

### 4/5 — Does the job

*2025-04-15, version 1.5.7*

Previous issue was resolved and the app is once smooth and easy to use.

### 3/5 — Doesn’t open on Mac

*2025-04-02, version 1.5.5*

I want to love this app! The UI is so clean, it’s quick, and has a lovely vibe. It works great on iOS and iPadOS, but when opening croissant on my Mac (M2 Mac mini) it refuses to open, just says “Not responding”. Hope this can be fixed soon, thanks!

### 3/5 — Works fine on iPhone, not opening on iPad

*2025-03-27, version 1.5.4*

Easy to use on the iPhone, but on the iPad all I get is a white or black screen.

### 2/5 — Bon concept, mais buggé

*2025-03-14, version 1.5.4*

### 3/5 — Mostly does the trick

*2025-02-27, version 1.5.3*

This mostly does the trick consistently, but when it messes up significant chunks of work are lost. Quite a bit of lag on posting to Threads. Sometimes freezes on posting altogether, post appears in drafts on reboot but only restores one part of the post and wipes the whole thing from drafts, losing the work.

### 2/5 — Great, when it launches…

*2025-02-26, version 1.5.3*

I just get a white screen then the app crashes. Hope it’s fixed soon!

### 4/5 — Could use more macOS integration

*2025-01-29, version 1.4*

I was really happy to see that Croissant was available for macOS, but it’s really the minimum-viable Catalyst app.If it had a few Mac specific features like a global quick-post shortcut, menu bar icon, and a main UI that is slightly more optimized for a Mac, it would be just about perfect.

### 3/5 — Support for X/Twitter ?

*2025-01-22, version 1.4*

Is it something on the roadmap ? Integrating X/Twitter to the app ?

### 4/5 — Timeline Interaction?

*2025-01-19, version 1.4*

This is a cost effective way to have a write only interface for the supported networks. But, if I could interact with a covered timeline, that would be amazing! Worth 3x more $$$

### 5/5 — It gets me off social media

*2025-01-01, version 1.3.4*

It’s too easy to get sucked into social media when I just want to post an update. This simplifies it all.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — has become unusable

*2025-11-30, version 2.0.7*

this app used to be much better, but the transitions between views have become so slow it is entirely unusable

### 1/5 — Monthly Subscription

*2025-09-13, version 1.6.5*

They expect you to pay a rather ridiculous monthly subscription, to use FREE Mastodon, a FOSS service, as well as BlueSky and Threads, if anyone cares. I can see a 1 time fee for your coding work. Subscription, LOL. Nope.

### 1/5 — App é excelente, mas instável

*2025-03-28, version 1.5.4*

App está fora do ar há dias! Alguém consegue me ajudar?

### 1/5 — Stopped working for me.

*2025-03-12, version 1.5.4*

Only opens to blank white or black screen. Was very useful originally.

### 1/5 — Didn’t know I would be a beta tester

*2024-12-10*

I bought the lifetime in app purchase as soon as I downloaded the app because it would save me so much time but now. Every time I try to post it just fails repeatedly. Every service. So I have to copy the post from history and then post it to each service individually.

**Developer response:** If you’re having trouble, please use the Send Logs option in Settings to let us help you!

### 1/5 — Threads login issue

*2024-11-20, version 1.2*

Unable to login to threads, I type in my logins then it asks for a email code. Then just opens a Threads feed. Doesn’t add it to list of accounts

### 1/5 — ACTUALLY…

*2024-11-18, version 1.2*

It doesn’t let you post to multiple accounts without paying for premium, so it’s “free” nature is kind of misleading

### 1/5 — not free, no twitter

*2024-11-13, version 1.2*

still cannot find a free app that allows cross-posting on the three main text-based social media apps

### 1/5 — Cant do anything without subscribing

*2024-11-12, version 1.2*

You can post to one account without subscribing. Useless.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work with threads

*2024-11-11, version 1.2*

‘Incorrect password’ error repeatedly when logging in with threads. I reset my password, confirms it works everywhere else but this app. It’s just not a functional app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Approved by this French gal

*2025-09-17, version 2.0.2*

I mostly use mastodon, but also have a Bluesky account so I can keep in touch with friends only on that platform. Croissant makes it super easy to post (and thread!) on both platforms, and does it in style too. Very much recommended!

### 5/5 — Lovely

*2025-08-20, version 1.6.5*

Came back to this after trying other cross posters. Beautifully designed, well worth the yearly subscription price.

### 5/5 — So simple, so good

*2025-04-20, version 1.5.7*

This app is so dang good. It’s classic “do one thing well” with strong design opinions. Absolutely worth the cost of you try to post to multiple social platforms at all.

### 5/5 — Pratique

*2025-04-20, version 1.5.7*

Application pratique qui permet de publier des posts rapidement sur les réseaux sociaux.

L’ajout d’autres réseaux sociaux comme LinkedIn, TikTok ou Instagram seraient le top.

### 5/5 — Excellent Support from the Start

*2025-03-05, version 1.5.4*

I had an issue adding my account so emailed support, who immediately wrote back and helped! Top tier support and lovely design and feel of the app🎉

### 5/5 — Perfection

*2025-02-24, version 1.5.1*

It’s a streamlined minimalist dream. It’s nicer than the posting interfaces of most social apps. The only con is that it doesn’t get actually croissants delivered to you.

### 5/5 — Tasty

*2025-02-13, version 1.5.1*

Beautiful cross-posting. The only client I’ve tried that can sign into multiple accounts for the same service, like multiple Mastodon instances, Bluesky accounts, etc. Everytime I’ve used a photo, it’s worked with no problem and the alt text field is really obvious and easy to use.

### 5/5 — Watch?

*2025-02-05, version 1.5*

Can you make a watch version?

### 5/5 — A practical and functional cross-poster

*2025-02-03, version 1.5*

It’s 2025. You’re on Bluesky and Threads. Maybe Mastodon too. Croissant is an excellent tool to allow you to seamlessly post across all three. It supports alt-text and images smoothly. It handles hashtags properly. It even has some ability to tag accounts on each platform. Easily the best cross-platform tool out there!

### 5/5 — Refreshing and Simple

*2025-01-18, version 1.4*

I would love to see the software expanded, it does what it says it does, it does what it needs to do, and it does so very well in a incredibly pleasing and simple way. It’s easy to create something simple, but it’s very difficult to create something that is simple for everyone to use. This application is worth it.
