### 4/5 — Great app, but annoying ads

*2026-08-25, version 4.58.1*

Ok, I know you have to make money. But seriously, the number of adds popping up when entering diary is really really annoying. You already have our data, and are selling it….why so many ads? Especially when the free version of the app is pretty limited.

### 4/5 — Too many commercials

*2026-08-25, version 4.58.1*

Otherwise my rating would be five stars

### 2/5 — Not available

*2026-08-25, version 4.58.1*

A bit confusing and not all the type of food I use is available.

### 3/5 — Good & easy app

*2026-08-24, version 4.58.1*

The only thing I can say that I hate about this app is that when you type in a single food, it should pop up first but instead you have to weed through 1 million other food products to find a single apple, fresh. The update changed it and I hate it.

### 3/5 — Very poor search, not for UK users

*2026-08-23, version 4.58.1*

The search function on the app is terrible. Search for ‘banana’ and you’ll get top results focused on banana-flavoured products. The brands are unrecognisable for UK users. Search doesn’t learn your habits and fuzzy search is hopeless. I couldn’t find some common foods easily even after a couple of weeks. If you eat ‘products’ and are Australian or American then maybe use this. If you cook them avoid.

The nutrition tracking is possibly useful. But the level of false precision is likely to be misleading because many of the foods have incomplete information. You end up with the wrong information in great detail rather than roughly the right information.

All of this would be forgiveable if the search was less terrible. But it’s frustrating and, worse, lazily implemented.

### 4/5 — Lifesaver

*2026-08-22, version 4.58.1*

Being on Cronometer for over a year has been a lifesaver for me & my health. It’s kept me on a steady track.
Just would like more assistance with what some other things the app has to offer, like food items suggested without the recipe to go with it.

### 4/5 — Good tracking tool

*2026-08-22, version 4.58.1*

Minus 1 star for the goofy ads

### 4/5 — Best out there

*2026-08-22, version 4.58.1*

There’s definitely a learning curve with this app and it would be so helpful if when you listed an ingredient just that ingredient came up first instead of having to dig through all the brand names to find it but other than that Once you learn how to use the app it is quite effective and becomes easier to use, but please change the searches so that a single ingredient comes up at the top.

### 2/5 — Weight

*2026-08-21, version 4.58.0*

It would be nice if more things were in cups for those of us who don’t have gram scales

### 3/5 — Helpful but buggy

*2026-08-20, version 4.58.0*

This app is helpful with daily planning. But it has issues. It randomly logs me out often, and gives error messages when trying to log back in. The only way I can find to get past this issue is to restart my phone. Then I can log back in without issue. I have been debating on upgrading to the paid version, but not so sure after this.

### 5/5 — Best Free tracking app out there

*2026-08-19, version 4.58.0*

Easy to use and shows every thing you need. I love the fact you can scan the barcode!

### 4/5 — Love it… but…

*2026-08-18, version 4.58.0*

This app is really good! But, after the update this week I’m experiencing a lot of crashes.

### 5/5 — A1 trackerrr

*2026-08-18, version 4.58.0*

I never ever leave reviews, nothing is ever good enough to leave a review. This is amazing. Easy to use, you can just scan the barcode of the food labels and adjust the serving you used and BOOM done. You can also add custom food and recipes. You can track everything so simply with one button clicks it’s amazing, you can also upgrade for more features but the free version is amazing as is, if you’re getting into tracking this could make it a whole lot easier!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Technical support

*2026-08-26, version 4.58.1*

The technical support department never got in touch with me regarding my issues. My sleep time was off by many hours. If someone had reached out to me to resolve issues I had no problem pay the $59.99 but won’t waste money on a paid app that I cannot configure with no help from support. Very dissatisfied and disappointed

### 1/5 — Stay with My Fitness Pal

*2026-08-19, version 4.58.0*

MFP is more intuitive, less buggy, easier to add food, and has thousands and thousands more products in its database.

### 1/5 — No option to enter calories directly

*2026-08-19, version 4.58.0*

No way to just enter ‘consumed 500 calories’

### 1/5 — No

*2026-08-18, version 4.58.0*

Buggy. Won’t work with a reputable VPN. No ability to photograph food for input.

### 1/5 — Intermittent greatness

*2026-08-18, version 4.58.0*

When the app works it is very useful in tracking calories with good interface and quality of life. Free features overall make for a nice package. And then the errors, lagging, app won’t open or load, can’t load recipes, won’t show previous data. Just broken mess at times out of nowhere. I need consistency if I’m using a tool and all of the positives don’t matter if I can’t rely on the app.

### 1/5 — Requires internet

*2026-08-18, version 4.58.0*

Seemed like a great app until I tried to log my evening meal, only to be given a '500 server error' - no data, nothing.

This is completely unacceptable for an app that should function fine without internet. Annoyed that I paid to support this.

Truly disgraceful.

### 1/5 — Siri Doesn’t work & Customer Service is nonexistent.

*2026-08-18, version 4.58.0*

I purchased the Gold tier subscription as a way to track my raccoon’s caloric intake. I am visually impaired, so being able to tell Siri what to log would have been very beneficial. The problem is, the app was just creating foods on its on and not using the foods I have listed and created in the Custom foods folder Example: I asked Siri to “log 15 Temptations” ( cat treats) The app logged 1 Met-Rx Big 100 Bar, Super Cookie Crunch. That is not even close to what I said. It was doing the exact same thing with his almonds. I’d say “log 3 almonds”. It would automatically log roasted and salted almonds even though the almonds I have in his foods list are unsalted.

I contacted customer support less than 2 hours after I purchased this app to ask for assistance. Then a second time after that. The third time I requested my money be refunded. It’s been over 3 days and I haven’t received a response from anyone. Just 2 emails that say, “Your support request has been updated”. I never received an email in response to my request for a refund.

So, if you’re wanting this app, so you can use Siri, you’re wasting your money. I paid to use that feature and that feature alone, but I am still just using the free version.

### 1/5 — Joke

*2026-08-17, version 4.58.0*

Apparently, baseball is NOT a team sport but they list wheelchair basketball. Unreal.

### 1/5 — The app deleted my account

*2026-08-17, version 4.58.0*

One day I went to open my Cronometer account and I had been logged out and my account apparently deleted. My email address appeared as no longer being associated with an account. Very frustrating since that means I’ll have lost all my data since creating an account in April.

### 1/5 — Waste of money.

*2026-08-14, version 4.58.0*

The app is full of bugs. Incorrect calculations and there is no ability to manually add calories. The photo scan is absolutely rubbish. ChatGPT did far better with meal recognition.

Save your money.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

Look no further

### 5/5 — Excellent

Excellent

### 5/5 — Amazing app and is convenient and is definitely better than other apps

*2026-08-22, version 4.58.1*

.

### 5/5 — Review

*2026-08-21, version 4.58.1*

I use Cronometer as I can track my macros and check that I am hitting goals for optimal health post chemotherapy

### 5/5 — Best one I have tried

*2026-08-21, version 4.58.0*

There are lots of small things about this app that I like. I've been able to synchronize it with Apple health. I can log regular food items each day such as my vitamins and my morning coffee. I can copy over a previous days meal. And I can easily add my own new foods.
I do wish it integrated with my favorite food delivery company, Tovala. Right now I have to enter all those nutrition details myself, and since their menu changes so rapidly, I end up having to add the details at least three times a week.
However, nobody else offers that integration, so it's not like they are falling behind.

### 5/5 — Such a help

*2026-08-21, version 4.58.0*

What a great tool to help organise monitor and manage food and macro intakes. Easy to use as well

### 5/5 — Wow

*2026-08-20, version 4.58.0*

I’ve had this app for three days and lost 3lbs!

### 5/5 — Gives me accountability

*2026-08-20, version 4.58.0*

The chore of keeping track is a pain but it keeps me on task. I even try to cheat but always end up doing the right thing. I’ve never drank this much water in a day.
Overall it’s helpful.
