This means when the phone is unlocked, it unlocks to go straight into the app, so you can’t catch anyone out as they can remove the data straight away

What you’re describing is actually the intended behavior of the app, as explained in the in-app tutorial. For the feature to work properly, the app needs to remain in the foreground when you lock your device, so that it is still active when the phone is unlocked.

If your goal is to prevent someone from quickly deleting data after unlocking the phone, you can also lock the Photos app or the photo album to add an extra layer of protection.
