But it’s very limited in its mechanics and user options - no character viewing options, lacks fast forwarding/skipping through battles that have already been complete at least once, locks you in the current screen battle without any option to switch between other possible tasks. Worst of all, there appears to be no development of new character. This is my second time coming back to this game after about one year and nothing has changed or been added to provide variety. Fun game with beautiful artwork but overall gives a short lived experience. We want more. Please put some time and effort into expanding the games and improving it - no doubt you make enough money on the in-app purchases, so please put some effort into supporting you paying players and giving them an enjoyable experience. Was already not having fun, but the final nail in the coffin was the forced tutorial. ### 4/5 — Don’t listen to the biased reviews *2022-08-07, version 0.0.14* Some users are rating this game badly because of the genre it falls in. If you don’t like gachas, just don’t play this game. Giving it a bad review because you simply don’t like gachas is unfair to the developers who put the work in. I’m a proud gacha player and critic, have played numerous titles in the past and continue to play multiple ones today. Having said that, I can tell you that this game is good, it’s fairly promising. It’s got surprisingly good voice acting, decent pixel art, high-resolution character splash arts, (what seems to be) 60 FPS by default, good-enough grammar, a clean UI and aesthetic, and a decent amount of polish. You can tell this is a high-effort title, not just a cash grab. That said, the game is not perfect. A way to inspect characters’ skills on the hero screen is necessary, but I found no way to do so. Perhaps the summoning rates could use a raise. A detailed settings screen would be useful too, let us manipulate dialogue text speed, FPS, and other goodies. It’s very generous with how much rewards you receive from start to endgame. There are points where it does require some grind to breakthrough your units and obtain resources to upgrade gear, levels, and cultivation. These aren’t the worst Gacha rates I’ve seen I pulled a UR on my third 10x that I obtained for free. The story is decent and the voice acting is average. This is an excellent time burner as you can run out of stamina quickly even after you recharge it on the grind. Pros: Generous to F2P, Decent Story, Fun Atmosphere, etc. Cons: Crashes every so often, The chat system deletes messages, The grind can sometimes wipe your stamina. **Developer response:** Thank you for your detailed feedback, summoner. Been playing for a while and I have reached top 100 in pvp without spending. The game is very generous with a lot to do. But, open chat doesn’t work, PMs don’t work, and it’s all deleted even if you think it might have. This is KILLING player retention. Fun factor is average for an Idle RPG. Few ways to spend real$ is crazy. ### 2/5 — It’s gacha. So done with gacha. *2022-08-02, version 0.0.14* It’s a medium effort gacha game. Essentially a money pit for a lightly animated 2d picture (“hero”) It is mostly auto idle play, so zero skill or interactivity. Literally just a cash grab. Who plays this crap?! Update response to developer: My suggestion to improve? Find another monetization model besides gacha. Market is saturated with them. You are not going to steal customers from Genshin Impact, so why waste time trying to beat them? While you’re clicking the store will automatically update and rearrange itself and if you’re mid spam clicking because they won’t let you bulk exchange (and you are doing 50+)you will accidentally spend all your currency on the random new max cost item threshold you just hit and be left with a random item you likely didn’t want and in my case can’t even use and no currency. Glad I didn’t waste more time here because honestly the game is pretty bland to begin with. (ft. the Longest Tutorial Known to Man) *2022-08-16, version 0.0.14* Got an ad for this game on Twitter featuring some dude named Kyle, so of course I send him to the group chat and we clown on both his name and character design, he looks kind of like Sora from Kingdom Hearts so I start drawing some dumb art of him as Sora for the amusement of my friends, but halfway through I think, “y’know, I wonder what fans of the game think of this dude”, so I Google him, and the only thing that comes up is one dude on Twitter clowning on his name. Then I Google “Cross Summoner: R characters” and there is not a single mention of Kyle on any list. So I download and install the whole game just in case he was very recently added and dear god the tutorial dragged on for so long. When the game first started and threw me right into using the gacha for the first time without even any intro cutscene and barely any character dialogue I thought it was going to be a whirlwind early game to get me into the whole thing quick. Nope. It made me play 7 levels without getting to make any choices about whether or not to level up characters or look at menus or think for myself, it’s all just tap tap tap, tap here and the colors and shapes appear on the screen and the character does a cool attack and wooooooowwwwww. I was tired of it all after the second level. Did I really need to play the first 7 levels without getting to look at the levels beyond using the gacha once and leveling one character. Could I have hit any other button at any point or would I have broken the game. At least it let me choose when to use my special attacks...... after level 3. Anyway I get through the hellish slog of a tutorial to look through the gacha preview (which does, admittedly, have a nice ui) and guess who isn’t there? Kyle. So as a last resort I look at the games official Twitter, thinking maybe, just maybe this guy is a character who has been announced but not implemented in game just yet, and the ad was just a teaser for the appearance of the illustrious Kyle (though you’d think if this were the case it would turn up in my Google search). Not a single mention of Kyle on the game’s official Twitter. In fact, it was at this point that I found out that the game launched 5 days ago and so there was no way that they’d be implementing new characters so soon. So I am left with many questions: Who is Kyle? Why is he in the Twitter ads? Why isn’t he in the game? Can the game be sued for false advertising if Kyle isn’t in it? Why did I make a full drawing of Kyle as Sora from Kingdom Hearts? I have resigned myself to not knowing the answer to any of these questions. 1 star, no Kyle. [EDIT: Have checked again and according to the fan wiki Kyle is now in the game. Don’t really want to check for myself because I don’t know if my progress in the game saved and the thought of going through the tutorial again makes me a little nauseous, so I don’t know if it’s a rotating gacha type deal (where they advertised Kyle when he wasn’t actually in the gacha for some reason?) or if they added Kyle after I left this review for some reason. Not changing my rating because, again, the tutorial was such a slog and I cannot stand games with lengthy tutorials with no option to deviate from it, but Kyle is now apparently there. The fan wiki calls him Karl once in the article though which is really funny.] ### 1/5 — Bad game *2022-08-06, version 0.0.14* - Gacha system is horrible - 120 shards for an UR (UR Shards are very hard to get, either pay with real money or through gachas) - The game has VIP system, which is not very f2p friendly. - Animation looks boring ### 1/5 — This game is trash *2022-08-03, version 0.0.14* The rates are so low. You get shards from summons!!! And it takes 120 of them to get a UR and 80 for an SSR. Generic gameplay. Game jumps right into the game with no backstory. You start out with a free R summon and it’s the weakest rarity. What is that crap? I said 0 pulls except for free ones they offer, and only use the free units given. Which is only four R rated units. Its been a few days and I’m still progressing rapidly. Yes I have only 4 units on a 5-slot team but I’ve been easily able to overcome any obstacles with a very little bit of farming. The game would be much easier if I did use the SSR units i have, but now it’s becoming more fun to NOT use them and try to overcome the difficulty.
