Nothing to complain about. I went on to play the bonus chapter and its all black. I can hear everything but the picture is completely black. I tried tapping ahead to see if I got into another room if it would be black but I don’t know if I’ve moved or not.. just black.. was looking forward to it:( I’ll change my review once fixed UPDATE I managed to get past the black screen by going into the options and everything else, went back out of the game, closed it, came back, and it then worked.. that is for a few minutes until I got to a puzzle that I was having a rough time so I left it for later. Went back to do it and all of my data has been erased. Won’t let me start at the bonus chapter and wants me to start from the very beginning.. so unfortunately I cannot change my rating. Still 3 stars because it’s a fabulous game..when it works. **Developer response:** Hello! We are extremely sorry to hear this. I’ve tried everything to “pull” it back up with no luck. Usually I end up moving backwards instead of getting my inventory boxes back. It seems the only way to go forward is to restart the program all together but once I pick up a new item it disappears again. All I see is the word “inventory” but when I try to tap or pull it up I just move backwards. I can’t move forward unless I restart the program, which is time consuming and truly a pain in the butt! I generally have no complaints about the gameplay or sound, HOWEVER, it’d be great if the inventory display would stop hiding every time a new item gets added to my inventory that I need to use. It started doing this and every time it does I have to exit out of the game and relaunch it, if there’s a way to fix this I would love to know how. Please remember we are playing on mobile, so our screens might be pretty small. It would be better to have a button to leave a scene or puzzle and not having the game respond to a click just above the inventory. It was really annoying to exit a puzzle when I was just trying to find something at the bottom of the screen. I play on a new iPad with no home button, so dragging stuff from the inventory meant that I was continually switching to another app. Once again, allowing us to select something in inventory and then click in the scene would avoid this issue. Lastly, we need more help with the last puzzle. I watched a video and even the person making the walkthrough failed the last puzzle. In my case I accidentally hit the screen during the introduction so I had no clues what the correct answers would be. Even if I had seen all of the introduction, I doubt that would have helped. Hope you make more F2P games! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Same inventory problem a year later. *2023-09-27, version 1.0.1* Developer was made aware of this game-halting issue a year ago by two separate players, and they still have not corrected it. I downloaded this app last week and continue to lose access to my inventory after just a couple of minutes of playing. The only fix is to completely restart the app. When 2 of the 21 reviews (now 3 of 22) complain of this same problem, I think it warrants research into a solution. Story might be nice, but other issues with gameplay, like the choice to require dragging inventory items to places in scene to use them (most other games like this I’ve played simply allowed tap to select item to use, then tap to select where to use it). This choice causes conflict with the ability to drag up on iPhone for quick access to phone functions. After dismissing that function screen, the game flashes black for a moment, making you wait to retry the item. ### 1/5 — Inventory keeps disappearing!! *2022-10-17, version 1.0.1* Would be a great game IF the INVENTORY didn’t keep disappearing off screen 🤯😡 I have been playing for 15 min and I have rebooted 4 times so far to reset the onscreen inventory but it still keeps going away leaving just the word “Inventory” at the bottom! Nothing I do,including tapping on the word or checking the MENU will make it appear again. I replayed it multiple times to experience different endings, and each ending was very interesting. I prefer these games where you don’t initially pay but could proceed to purchase hints if required. I find these games more challenging and difficult to solve rather than just pressing a help button if a difficulty is met. I cannot speak too highly of this game and look forward to more games of this type.
