Too American! *2026-05-29, version 3.6.11* Great to use an Apple Pencil to fill in the answers but keeps saying “l” is a correct letter when it isn’t. However, $8 a month is crazy, esp when it doesn’t even save your progress? Exited out the game for a min and had to restart my puzzle. Also, you should have the ability to zoom in bc I cannot write that small. Take care! ### 4/5 — Good use of a pencil, fun crossword app *2026-02-18, version 3.6.9* This is a pretty good app for using your pencil that isn’t drawing or notetaking. Once you subscribe, which I did, you get a wealth of historical puzzles, which is really nice because it will take quite a while to go through them all. To that end, my suggestion to the developer would be to give us a filter so that we can see the puzzles that we have yet to do of which there are many. As well as filter for puzzle size and other attributes. Endlessly scrolling through the archives is a pain in the butt. It would also be nice if this were included in the family plan so that my wife, who enjoys the free daily puzzle because she can’t justify both of us spending a not insignificant amount of money on this app, could also enjoy its full potential for this cost. ### 4/5 — Good. Also pick between different levels (beginner expert etc. Also it would be great to have the option of choosing from which county you come from. If there were a variety of difficulties AND there were a (reasonable!) pay-once price to unlock all content, I would be interested in getting this for a loved one who loves crosswords, but as it stands , no. **Developer response:** Thanks for playing and checking us out! This does that, but you only get ONE very short crossword each day. No option to buy packs, only an incredibly expensive subscription service. If there were any indication that they would have better puzzles I might consider it. However, it is not worth it based on puzzle quality. I can only hope another developer figures out this technology soon, because while the handwriting technology is great, the puzzles aren’t, and the subscription price is exorbitant. **Developer response:** Hi Doc, thank you for playing and checking us out! Thanks again, and have a great day! ### 3/5 — Hit and miss *2025-08-31, version 3.6.5* Love the idea and the execution, but some puzzles are very basic or the clues are very USA centric, including the spelling. Obviously it’s not a UK app so that’s to be expected, but it’s a big hold back when it’s asking about brands or tv channels. Not really worth a subscription for me. ### 2/5 — Added dumb subscription *2025-05-29* I used to be able to go back and do the previous days crosswords for free. I hadn’t opened the app in a few months and when I did today I was greeted with an option to pay a subscription if I wanted to go back and do the ones I missed. Thanks again and have a wonderful day! ### 3/5 — Love that I can use the Apple Pencil but… *2024-12-14, version 3.2.2* I love that I feel like I can do a cross word with the Apple Pencil and especially when the supported apps are very limited. But absolutely hate that I am limited to one a day and cannot go back to a day that I missed because it didn’t realise it was past 12 am. I am a very poor so can’t afford the yearly/monthly subscription especially when I can port them into alternative software. Puzzles are else extremely short and my 10 year old can solve them until it comes to one or two that americacentric clues and spelling. The puzzles are relatively small and now that it requires a subscription without an upgrade to the quality of the puzzles it feels like a money grab. The puzzles look the same as when it was free (although now you can change the color palate I guess). I wouldn’t mind to support the app, but the price requested is steep for what it is when I had done many of the puzzles for free already. I understand that devs need support especially with creating new puzzles but this is not worth it. The use of Apple Pencil with the very accurate letter recognition is spot on. However, the paid subscription is NOT worth it and such a bad move from developer. My only gripe is the puzzle size, smaller puzzles during the week and now larger Sat-Sun puzzles. I’m almost done working my way through every single one since finding this awesome app a few months ago. It’s exactly like writing on paper, with total accuracy. The BIG problem is that you only get three very small crosswords per week - Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. You can get to some old puzzles, but not very many at all.
