## What is Crownfront?

Crownfront is a fantasy sandbox MMORPG where players shape the world through trade, war, politics, exploration, and cooperation.

Explore a map-based fantasy world with simple tap-to-move controls — no real-world walking required. Gather resources, battle enemies, trade with other players, and build your place in a living multiplayer world.

BUILD KINGDOMS & WAGE WAR

Create or join player-led kingdoms, build alliances, compete with rivals, and fight for power in PvP kingdom wars. Your allies, enemies, and political decisions can shape the future of the world around you.

BUILD PLAYER CITIES

Work together with other players to develop cities and major trade hubs. Cities can become centers of commerce, community, and political power — complete with player-elected mayors.

A PLAYER-RUN ECONOMY

Crownfront’s economy is driven by its players. Gather resources, craft and trade equipment, move goods between markets, and compete for valuable items.

Rare and limited-edition gear can enter the economy in limited quantities, creating unique collectibles and sought-after pieces of Crownfront history.

PVP & PVE

Fight other players, battle creatures, defend your allies, gather valuable resources, and grow stronger through both competitive PvP and cooperative PvE gameplay.

CHOOSE YOUR OWN ROLE

Become a warrior, merchant, explorer, builder, trader, mayor, or kingdom leader. Crownfront is built around player freedom, giving you the systems to create your own goals and your own story.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 0.1.41 — 2026-09-27

- If your account is signed out everywhere (a password change, a sign-out from another device) or a member of the team ends your session, the app now says so and stops instead of reconnecting in a loop.
- Quitting the app on a phone tells the server you left, so your character is not held in the world for a minute afterwards.
- Construction keeps a non-interactive preview and shows "Finishing construction..." while the server confirms the completed structure.
- Pickups keep their original request while the result is uncertain, prevent duplicate taps, and show completion when the settled receipt arrives.
- Duplicate delivery of the same crafted-item receipt no longer repeats its item popup.
- Trade dialogs distinguish a purchase still being settled from a completed purchase.
- Music transitions overlap instead of inserting the random silence between tracks.
- Downloaded images are cleaned up safely when their screen or session closes, including downloads that finish late.
- Website player counters refresh while the page is open and distinguish unavailable or stale figures from zero.
- Concurrent website requests share one sign-in refresh instead of accidentally invalidating each other's session. Failed page reads keep a successfully renewed session; an unconfirmed refresh may safely require signing in again.
- City keys for different cities no longer share a single row in your bag under one city's name.
- Searching the in-game guide no longer closes the game. (Until the update, the website guide's search works.)
- Long sessions no longer run your phone out of memory. Map pictures of places you have left are now released properly - they piled up after a long stay in one area and made the game freeze, go black and close when you then hopped a few flags.
- Rings on the hotbar behave like rings in your bag: putting on a second ring fills your empty finger instead of replacing the first, taking a ring off removes that ring and not the other one, and jewelry cannot be swapped from the hotbar during a fight.

### 0.1.40 — 2026-09-24

- The Wandering Delves: cave mouths now appear in the world. Tap one and choose "Enter the Delve" to walk in with whoever is standing with you. Inside, each room has its own doorway deeper in and a way back, and a line under the Exit button tells you the wave, when the Gravemaw rises, and when a cleared cave is about to collapse.
- The five cave creatures, the Gravemaw (drawn boss-sized), its tremors and the "Sapped" status from Gloom Metal weapons all show, and Gloom Metal weapons carry their name.
- Parties: accepting an invite from your Messages joins the party and brings you to them right away. A new party strip in the top-right corner shows every member's name, health bar and green/red status dot; tap a name to view their profile or, as leader, kick them; tap the "Party" header to leave or disband.
- A reward now shows the moment the server confirms it, instead of after the next check of your bag. The number shown is always the server's own figure, so it cannot drift, and money owed back after a refund is no longer hidden as zero.
- The Companions menu updates immediately when a removal is accepted and shows that it is still processing. It keeps checking while open and recognises a companion deployed again after recall.
- A new Mayor can build a City House again. The Build menu hid the row from anyone who belonged to a city, but founding one makes you its Mayor without giving you a house.
- The city screen has a new "The Office" section: what holding the office commits you to, and the Mayor-only Resign button.
- Shield Charge only appears on the tap menu when you have learned it and have a shield equipped. Learning or resetting skills elsewhere is picked up within about a minute, without logging out.
- Your Joined date shows in the profile Info card, and an open profile refreshes itself while keeping your tab and scroll position.
- Map tiles can no longer corrupt the cache's size count or evict a tile still in use while the game is starting up.

### 0.1.39 — 2026-09-15

- Desktop: the game is zoomed out to show almost the entire walk circle (about 92% of it); phones keep their closer framing.
- Characters are drawn from the new artwork: skin tone, hairstyle and hair colour, expression, shirt, trousers and shoes, with armour, shields (now visible), weapons, masks and hats layered on top. Two people standing on the same spot no longer draw each other's gear over their bodies.
- The Looking Glass: tap one to open a full-screen mirror with Skin, Hair, Face and Clothes tabs and a live preview of your character; confirm to change your look for 1,000 crowns. Mayors find it in the Build menu.
- The Wolf Mask tucks under the Plumed Cavalier Hat properly instead of poking its ears through the brim.
- The Royal Breastplate is a full suit of armour now: it replaces your whole outfit on screen instead of showing your shirt and shoes around its edges.
- Changing a weapon or piece of gear no longer makes your character's gear vanish for a moment; the new look appears in one step.
- The game downloads gear and decoration pictures while it loads, so they are ready before you see them.
- After a teleport the view waits a moment for the buildings and creatures at your destination, instead of letting them pop in one by one.
- A building that turns out to be a different kind (for example a sign or a fountain) redraws itself correctly straight away.
- The Build menu no longer offers a Log Cabin, workshop, station, yard, Trade Hub or Looking Glass you (or your city) already have once you've walked out of sight of it.
- Inside your Log Cabin, tap the chest spot to build a chest (20 wood). Open it to store items from your bag (up to 500 kg) and take them back out.
- Music! The login screen has its own song, each continent (and the open ocean) has its own playlist that mixes in songs from the whole world, and a Cinderroc in your walk circle brings its own battle music. Songs fade into each other, and there is a short quiet spell between songs while you explore.
- Settings has a new Volume tab: master volume, music volume, and a switch to turn the music off. The music steps aside when you are already listening to another app.
- Songs download in the background the first time and stay on your device, so they never download twice.
- Inside your Log Cabin, tap the top-right doorway to walk into the War Room, and the War Room's own doorway to walk back. Your following companions come with you.
- In the War Room, tap the build sign to build the Upgrade Bench (100 wood, 40 iron). The finished bench then shows for everyone who visits.
- Tap your Upgrade Bench to open its upgrade card: every upgrade shows a level bar, what you have now and what the next level gives, its price and a Buy button. Buy is greyed out when you don't have enough crowns, a fully bought upgrade says Maxed, and the card fits on small phones.
- Your own hardened flags offer "Upgrade to Personal Tower" while you have a free tower slot (unhardened flags don't show the button), and a personal tower is drawn as a stone tower.
- If your account is signed in on another device, this device shows "Signed In Elsewhere" instead of reconnecting, with Play on This Device and Sign Out. Maintenance and restart disconnects now show their proper message too.

### 0.1.38 — 2026-09-13

- Tapping another player now offers Shield Charge once you've learned it, beside Attack Target.
- Placing decorations no longer gets in the way. The "Your Land" option is gone; instead, tapping empty ground you own lists each decoration you carry as its own button — "Place Banner", "Place Stone Lantern" — and taps that land on a flag, creature, resource or dropped item never offer them at all. Dig Here joins that same list as a direct button when you carry a shovel, so you tap the bare ground beside a tree rather than the tree.
- A greyed-out Travel button now counts down the seconds until you go green, and turns clickable on its own the moment you do. You used to have to close the menu and open it again to find out.
- The game no longer keeps walking a creature toward an old destination after the server has said it stopped — a missing update now clears the old destination instead of being ignored.
- The moment in time used to draw other players and creatures no longer shifts when something starts or stops moving, which was itself a small jump every time a creature changed what it was doing.
- Other players near the edge of your walk circle no longer disappear while they are walking. The app was deciding whether to show someone from where it had drawn them a moment ahead, so a player the server placed inside your circle could be hidden a few metres past the edge; now it uses the server's own position, so anyone inside your circle is shown and anyone outside is not, moving or standing still.
- Updates that arrive out of order are ignored rather than dragging a creature backwards, and a creature chasing something that teleports no longer teleports with it.
- Settings ▸ General ▸ Movement troubleshooting can record a short movement trace to a file on your device, to send in if movement still looks wrong.
- Windows now installs through the Crownfront Launcher: download it once, sign in, press Play — it keeps the game updated with small patches instead of a fresh 230 MB zip every release, opens the game already signed in, and shows the latest patch notes, dev blogs, announcements and server status from the website. The plain zip stays under Advanced on the download page.

### 0.1.37 — 2026-09-07

- Gifts from Crownfront arrive as mail with a Claim button. Tap it to collect; the mail then reads Claimed, and a second tap does nothing. Older versions of the app show the message without the button.
- When the realm closes for an update, the app now reconnects by itself the moment it reopens; the Try Again button still works too.
- A request that stalls (for example during a server restart) now gives up after 12 seconds instead of 30, so the bag and its buttons never sit frozen for half a minute.
- The companion order "Stand Guard" is now called "Halt": one word that means stand right there.
- On Android, the Back button now closes the topmost panel (a menu, the chat, a dialog) exactly like the Escape key does on a computer, instead of doing nothing.
- Rings and amulets on the ground show their full name.
- A Wooden Sign's text now floats directly above its own sign. With more than one sign in view, each further sign's text was drawn lower and lower, well below its post.
- Other players and creatures keep walking smoothly through short connection hiccups instead of walking for two seconds and freezing for two. Your game now walks them toward where the server says they are heading and gently corrects them when the next update lands, so a pause in updates changes nothing on screen.
- When updates arrive in a bunch after a hiccup, every position in the bunch is used instead of only the last one, and catch-up is a brisk walk, never a dash or a teleport.
- Building a flag, buoy, sign or decoration at the far edge of your circle no longer fails with "couldn't get close enough". The game waits as long as the walk actually takes.
- On phones the game keeps the connection awake with a tiny signal while other players or creatures are nearby, so power saving cannot bunch the world's updates together. Settings ▸ General has the switch.
- Settings ▸ General gains a Network section: your ping, how often world updates arrive, the longest pause in the last 30 seconds, frame hitches, and how smooth playback is, with an optional live readout in the corner of the map.
- Creatures chasing you (and companions following their owner) now aim at where you are, not where you were. During a short connection hiccup a wolf used to run to the spot you had already left; now it keeps following your marker as you move.
