### 2/5 — Needs an update!

*2026-06-23, version 7.2.5.14*

It is extremely difficult to find any products that actually still exist! Everything I search up is not on their and they are mainstream brands. Even dove is not on there! I want to become 100% cruelty free and this app is not very helpful with doing so

### 3/5 — Helpful

*2026-05-21, version 7.2.5.14*

Why not allow users to provide companies to the list?? Or at least suggest?

### 2/5 — Needs an update

*2026-04-19, version 7.2.5.14*

App looks like it was made in 2005. It desperately needs an update, doesn’t have most of the very popular brands that I search.

### 2/5 — Help

*2025-07-17, version 7.2.5.14*

I love the app, but it needs a lot of help and is not very visually appealing so I don’t gravitate towards it. It reminds me of some sort of web game site from the early 2000s in the worst way possible but I love y’all and I always am using your website instead.

### 2/5 — Limited

*2023-01-18, version 6.12.5.3*

Products are limited. Hard to find men’s products without sorting through female products.

### 3/5 — Missing Brands That Are On Website

*2020-02-22, version 4.1.1*

So I wanted to try the app since I’m always going to the leaping bunny website. The brand HASK is listed on the website but isn’t listed on the app. I’m confused, so is it or is it not cruelty free?

### 3/5 — Nice idea but the scanner doesn’t work on a single barcode

*2019-11-17, version 4.1.1*

• Tried it on 42 products in my bathroom.
Scanner was unable to find a single product.
• Tried it on about 30 barcodes on packages in my kitchen. Scanner was unable to find a single product.
• tried it on a dozen cosmetic barcodes in target. Scanner was unable to find a single product.

So the idea of an app to help me make purchasing decisions is great, but who has time to type in and enter every single product?
If I could scan each product before throwing it in my cart it’d be awesome - but so far I might as well just use any old app out there that lists brands because this one by the original bunny company isn’t very user friendly.

### 2/5 — Needs improvement

*2019-02-09, version 4.0.5*

I scanned some stuff from our medicine cabinet to see if they tested on a animals, (NyQuil, Bandaid etc)and it couldn’t find them.

### 3/5 — App closes when I try to search

*2018-06-10, version 4.0.3*

When I access Products and search, the app shuts down after I enter a few characters. Otherwise I like the app.

### 2/5 — No products seem to scan

*2018-05-05, version 4.0.3*

I’ve decided to remove this app and try Cruelty Cutter, because I’ve yet to scan a product and have it come up in this app. There are lots of smaller, new brands that I have since researched to be cruelty free, but they were not identified in the app. It’s kind of useless.

### 2/5 — Great concept, poor execution

*2018-02-04, version 4.0.2*

I was told about this app and love the concept, but so many brands I know some that even sport the bunny logo don’t appear in the app. For example Tarte, Pureology, Too Faced, NYX, Becca. Pureology is a vegan brand and company. Tarte actually carries the bunny logo!

### 2/5 — Crashes

*2018-01-20, version 4.0.2*

Lately this app has been crashing every time I try to do a search. Please fix this.

### 3/5 — Some features don’t work.

*2017-11-16, version 4.0.1*

App force closes with iOS 11 whenever I attempt to search for a brand. I get about 4-5 letters typed in and it just closes. Very annoying. Made me have to switch to a different app serving a similar “cruelty-free finder” purpose so I can search for stuff. Still worth downloading if you just need to browse instead of search.

### 2/5 — Concept is nice, but needs improvement.

*2017-10-31, version 4.0.1*

I understand that they are choosing to only do the bunny certified brands, but there are a lot more companies out there that are cruelty feee that I use. I don’t use anything not vegan, and none of my products showed up in the scan. I even searched for them and they came up there, but I had to go on a search. My yesto brand is a brand I own a lot of, and it’s on the list, but wouldn’t show up when I scanned any of my products. There needs to be major improvements on this app. I really like the general idea behind it, but it’s not going to be something I use. Its easier to just look on products for that bunny than to use this app.

### 2/5 — Does not have enough brands

*2017-08-08, version 4.0.1*

I love the idea of having this app while shopping and especially appreciate the scan feature. However, there are many brands not included in the database.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-06-11, version 7.2.5.14*

This app is garbage! It doesn’t work when I scan a barcode or put in the UPC code it just says error and it tells me to go to the brands so I do and type in the brand for it not exist!! Also most of those brands on the list, I’ve never even heard of! It’s a waste of time! 🙄

### 1/5 — Camera Issues

*2024-02-12, version 6.12.5.3*

The scanner never works because every time I open it the camera is never in focus so I can’t scan any products. Hope this gets fixed eventually!

### 1/5 — Great idea, awful execution

*2023-08-17, version 6.12.5.3*

I’d love to be able to use this to more easily find and support cruelty-free brands but the app is old school and awful. The scanner doesn’t work at all and the search is very clunky, let alone A LOT of super common brands aren’t even listed one way or the other.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t have any brands!

*2020-10-16, version 4.1.3*

I LOVE the idea of this app, but I scanned almost every item in my bathroom and it couldn’t find any of the brands. I don’t even use “unique” brands, everything I own I buy at Target. So I don’t get how this app doesn’t have information on any of them?

### 1/5 — I wish I could use this app...

*2019-02-19, version 4.0.5*

...but I can’t because it’s literally crashing every 4 seconds after I open it. #Delete

### 1/5 — Doesn’t read ANY label

*2018-03-09, version 4.0.2*

Everything I scanned came up as unknown including big name brand stuff like triscuits and DAIYA cheese even. Also scanned Pacifica dash wash and dermalogica lotion and none of it was found. The app could be insanely useful but it doesn’t work.

### 1/5 — Do they ever add products?

*2018-01-26, version 4.0.2*

This is a great concept, but I tried 3 products, and nothing matched my search. Who hasn’t heard of dawn dish soap? .... I’ll keep searching..

### 1/5 — Bad

*2017-12-11, version 4.0.2*

Every single time I’ve scanned a barcode it comes up with no results, what is the point of this app then?

### 1/5 — I'm not impressed

*2017-10-02, version 4.0.1*

The only thing good so far is that this app is for a positive purpose. It needs worked on when I try to type in a brand it crashes. I also seen there is different products but still lacks many other products. I think Cruelty-Cutter is a better app. I'm deleting this until it is fixed!

### 1/5 — Missing brands

*2017-09-15, version 4.0.1*

This seems to be the Leaping Bunny app, leaping bunny lists brands that are APPROVED by THEM. They don't list all cruelty free brands. It won't list brands that haven't partnered with Leaping Bunny and paid to be listed on their site. I'd rather have an app that lists all the CF brands.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — This is an amazing app

*2026-06-23, version 7.2.5.14*

I really love this app. The leaping bunny logo is something that I always look for when buying a product so this app makes it so much easier to make sure that what I’m buying is not harming any animals.

### 5/5 — Good

*2026-06-19, version 7.2.5.14*

I don’t like animal testing so I like this app it’s very easy to use

### 5/5 — My every day app

*2026-01-09, version 7.2.5.14*

I’m pretty sure I use this app every single day. It’s been SO easy to search brands in this app rather than go on the website all the time. I also like that I can scan a product if I want. This has been such a helpful tool while out at CVS or shopping at Sephora and I can’t remember a brand and I don’t have wifi access. 10/10 every cruelty-free girlie needs this

### 5/5 — Great idea, glad they have an app!!

*2018-05-30, version 4.0.3*

I am so happy to start buying cruelty free items from now on. I am glad that there is an app like this to look up organizations that are legitimately cruelty free and certified as such because it is so difficult to actually know whether a product is actually cruelty free, because lots of products say they are and they aren’t! Have to give it five stars for helping the animals and it’s free. Thank you :)

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2018-02-10, version 4.0.2*

I love this app. It has all of the products I use listed and it has helped me find products also. The low reviews seem to come from people that do not understand the Leaping Bunny cert. and they're not realizing not all non-animal testing certs are the same. Leaping Bunny is the only
one I trust.

### 5/5 — There's no valid reason for testing toiletries on animals.

*2016-07-12, version 3.0.4*

This app is extremely useful for determining which products are truly cruelty-free and which are simply a "feel good" subsidiary of a larger entity that still engages in animal testing elsewhere. It's quick and easy to use when I do my shopping at Fresh Market, Whole Foods, or Trader Joe's.

One small bug in this app. A product I scanned (Mrs. Meyer's Hand Soap, manufactured for the Caldrea Company) had a small, pink-ish square next to the leaping bunny logo. A blue square is mentioned in the key as being a non-compliant company, but no mention is made of the icon I found.

### 5/5 — Very trustworthy and Reliable!

*2016-02-22, version 3.0.3*

All of the companies listed in this app are the companies that have allowed Leaping Bunny to examine and inspect them and been approved of non cruelty.
Other companies like Too Faced and Urban Decay cosmetics may be cruelty free but they are not listed because Leaping Bunny has not been allowed to inspect them. I look for the leaping bunny symbol on all that I buy and I love each product I have used! Great App!

### 5/5 — Love this app

*2016-01-10, version 3.0.3*

I'm a new vegetarian and this is a huge help when I shop at non hippy stores :)

### 5/5 — Cruelty free

*2015-10-22, version 3.0.2*

Love it!

### 5/5 — Not confused

*2015-03-16, version 3.0.1*

An app that lists brands that are not tested on animals (cruelty-free)
