Needless to say, when I came back to redownload the game for nostalgia, I was severely disappointed when I found out the game was now owned by Crunchyroll. As easy it would be to give this game a one star review just because it’s now behind a paywall, I’m not giving this one star for that reason. No, I attempted to play the game, and this is what the review will be about. 1. The Paywall This is one of the easier things to criticize the game about, the fact that the once free-to-play game is now locked behind a paywall, and completely inaccessible unless you have a Crunchyroll account. Not only does this decision anger the fans of the original game, this decision also turns away any new players who do not want to make an account just to play a rhythm game. While I understand the business decision to do this, to acquire new people to sign up for Crunchyroll, this may be the worst way to go about it. The fact the game is unplayable unless you have an account creates the embarrassing image of a desperate company begging for new people by plastering their brand on an already well-made game. If this decision must be done, then I wouldn’t have recommended to go about it like this. Either republish the game with no sign-ups, and instead full of ads about Crunchyroll in order to get money that way and possible new sign-ups (not the most humble of choices, however), OR republish the game with an option to X out of the sign-up screen, allowing people with Crunchyroll accounts to play the game ad-free, and people with no account to still play the game, except with ads. 2. The Credits While this isn’t a major issue compared to everything else, me and many other fans of the original Sweet Sins 2 find it disrespectful to Platonic Games, the original developers, that they’re sidelined with their creation of the game to be replaced by advertisements of Crunchyroll. 3. The Coding This has to be one of my biggest complaints about this version of the game. Now, I understand that coding is very difficult to do, however there is no good excuse when the entire game was already created by a different company, the coding well made and everything. As I began to play this new Crunchyroll version, it seemed okay at first, however something I noticed was that the screen that asked for a rating had < Color=#53D8FF›Sweet Sins 2
