The concept is good.  The RTS space battles are generally well done.  The difficulty is dreadfully unbalanced.  It is either no challenge on easy or practically unwinnable on normal (sector 1, fighting an enemy with more and higher level squadrons before you’ve had a chance to improve your ship).  There are too many lore stops (where you spend in game resources to get weak stories that don’t even progress the plot and nothing to help in the gameplay).  The overall story is shallow and (SPOILER ALERT) nihilistic.  FTL is a far better game

I can imagine this would be a great game on a computer or iPad, but it’s a waste of money on the iPhone. Can’t read any of the text (too tiny) and the graphics are too small to tell the difference between ship types and details). I lasted a couple of hours before deleting.

The over all story was amazing the conversation at the end with the emperor really wrapped up almost every word of dialogue. I read thus far the reveal at the end. I finally got my memories. Back was astonishing

Warum stimmt das Bildseitenverhältnis des Spiels nicht auf dem iPad mini; sprich warum ist links und rechts ein schwarzer Rand? Auf dem iPhone ist die Schrift teilweise ca. einen Millimeter hoch. Wer soll das noch lesen können!?

This game absolutely slaps. The low reviews are from weak willed admirals without a strategic bone in their body. I’ve gotten 50 hours of enjoyment at least. Every opponent requires careful planning. Completing every chapter with every ship on hard is a welcome challenge for true military strategists. 

Go play candy crush if you want a lame video game. This is a deeply passionate game taking huge inspiration from classic sci fi. Devs get my upmost respect. The Imperium they’ve created is unique in the genre. Idaho and the gang gunna save space king. Praise be to the OMNI!

Good game. Many FTL influences with some RTS-lite thrown in. Fun world building. Only request I would have is ability to zoom in on battle screen as units can be hard to identify

Game gets stuck trying to check for saves on Game Center, but won’t let me skip that screen. Closing and opening the app again just starts the process over. I tried disconnecting my phone from the Internet and turning on airplane mode and it still got stuck in a loop.

Also vorweg, das Spiel ist gut gemacht und durchaus stimmungsvoll, guter Soundtrack.

Mit FTL kann man es aber wahrlich nicht in einem Atemzug nennen: deutlich weniger Steuerungsmöglichkeiten, insbesondere kein Crew-Management, keine komplexe Taktik möglich bei Kämpfen. Zumindest auf dem IPad nicht sehr übersichtlich bei den Kämpfen, es kommt kaum Spannung auf. Die Upgrademöglochkeiten des Raumschiffs vergleichsweise nichtig.
Die Präsentation der Story ist extrem textlastig.

Würde es nicht mehr kaufen :(

The game itself is a hidden gem - love playing it on PC, appreciate the style, lore and game mechanics
Unfortunately, the price in AppStore is two times higher than steam, while the game runs below 30fps and in very low resolution on iPhone 15, which makes pixel art looking awful, and game controls - not smooth. 

It seems that no one really cared about optimization and that is really sad, considering how nice the game could be on mobile devices

Ich habe bei einer Anomalie Frigate Dreadnoughts bekommen - ihr Einsatz führt reproduzierbar zum Absturz (sobald sie das gegnerische Schiff erreicht und die 7 Sekunden Ladezeit abgelaufen sind). Das ist für ein durchaus überdurchschnittlich teures Spiel inakzeptabel.

/UPDATE: auch wenn das Spiel nominal auf einem iPhone läuft, die Menge an Text macht es echt unspaßig, da die Schrift sehr klein ist.

This game gets 5 stars and a review from me! 

The experience is amazing. Simple to learn and the game meta is a pleasant experience. 

You start at a certain point with your desired ship and officers and progress through a variety of small events in order to gain resources that allow you to make upgrades to your ship or purchases at a depot for new units and perks. 

You’ll need them as you progress through the map in order to reach the primary point where a difficult final mission event awaits!

Calm and slow paced storytelling make every chapter exciting to experience.

No micro transactions. Roguelite gameplay that builds death and respawning into the story. Both combat (main gameplay loop) and planet expeditions (mini games) are fun. Only complaint is there a long dialogue at the end of chapter 5 with no save in between. If you don’t finish the dialogue you have to fight the sector boss again. But that’s pretty minor.

I didn’t expected such a great game. They speak about “runs” so I was expecting an easy game that you would then play in different difficulties. But doing different runs is part of the main game. The story is great and the strategical part of the game challenging. I loved playing it!

Je ne me lasse pas de jouer a Crying Suns, jeu que l’on découvre avec plaisir au gré de son histoire tres bien ficelée et auquel on revient pour réussir les chapitres en mode difficile. Le jeu est déjà ardu lorsque l’on débute, mais on progresse vraiment au fur et à mesure des parties, et ca c’est un bonheur.

But I keep getting this bug where in battle the game just closes. I restart the app and I have to restart the entire fight from the beginning. It happens a lot, currently I’m stuck because I can’t get past this battle without it happening.
