Also, a ski resort app should be the last app you need to customize or log into. Issues include: -slow load time (esp trail status and webcams) -missing link to 7-day NOAA forecast -links in mtn report don’t work -event calendar date selection requires scrolling. Just show a calendar with dots. Old review (2022): Not sure why Crystal felt the need to release a new app instead of upgrading the old one. Adding a graphic or icon of current weather would be helpful: Ex 46-54” Base, 7” snow next 24 hours, 3” new. Current conditions ❄️, 😎, 🌧️ This should be the first thing people see when they open the app. ### 1/5 — The app is pretty much useless. *2022-12-04* Alterra Corp has really cheaped out on app development. Most of the links in the app just redirect you back to the website. They advertise on their Mountain update to order food via the app. Good luck doing that. Can’t even order lift tickets or anything. This is pretty typical of Alterra Corp. I’m sure if the app was responsible for making sure the CEO got paid it would function 100%. ### 2/5 — Going backwards? *2022-04-12, version 1.5* This app was so much better only a few months ago. ### 1/5 — Has-been wannabe ski area *2022-04-01* In over half a century CM never charged for parking and offered a first rate ski experience adored by its faithful clientele. Then along came a corporate buyout by Aspen business gurus Alterra. The day lodge got a makeover with tagger art, decor suggestive of the I-5 express lanes through downtown Seattle. Now CM charges for parking and has raised the season pass rate by a staggering 70% since last year. Here on the plaza on a sunny Friday afternoon enjoying the nonexistent après ski scene, where we used to dance to live bands. Now the fireside cantina window closes hours before the lifts do. To get a beer requires climbing the stairs to the bull wheel bar, but don’t bother asking for a pitcher. Those got poured out with the new ownership. As my wife (who has skied CM since it opened more than 60 years ago) says of the new owners, “They’ve cut the heart out of the Crystal Mountain community.” The terrain is still 5-star. The experience has been reduced to 2-star. ### 2/5 — New app is bad why change a good thing *2022-03-20, version 1.4* Old app was better more user friendly way more information. The actual snow is not recorded properly and sometimes there’s no access to knowing what trails and lifts are closed or open when on the mountain it’s supposed to be a helpful tool for those who wanna know if Northway is open or not.
