## What is CTAS Triage?

CTAS Triage is a clinical decision support tool implementing the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) for adult emergency department triage, based on the Complaint Oriented Triage (COT) 2012 visual algorithm.

Walk through 156 adult presenting complaints across 17 body systems. For each complaint, answer a short series of multi-select questions about vital signs, pain, bleeding disorders, mechanism of injury, and complaint-specific findings — the app computes a CTAS acuity level (I–V) with a citation back to the source algorithm slide.

Clarity improvements to the modifier screens, based on emergency physician feedback.

- Vital sign findings are now grouped by dimension — Respiratory, Circulatory, Level of Consciousness, and Temperature — so you can scan one system at a time.
- Options within each group are ordered mild to severe, matching how severity is usually read.
- Pain screens now state the pain axis in plain language rather than CTAS terminology. The full CTAS term is retained in the breadcrumb and in "Why this level".
- Pain options are grouped acute first, then chronic.
- The Continue button now reads "No findings — continue" when nothing is selected, making it clear that recording no findings is a valid answer.
- A new References section in About links to the official CTAS source documents this app's triage logic derives from.
