### 2/5 — Jumpy

*2026-06-02, version 3.10*

I really like the company but your app gives me a major headache- it won’t stay still- it jumps all over the page. Meanwhile I’ll use the website

### 2/5 — Constant screen movement

*2026-05-02, version 3.10*

On the last couple releases the running timestamp is causing the page of items to bounce up and down . Cause seems to be that milliseconds don’t fit on the same line as timestamp and wrap to the next line causing the overall screen to move. This compounds and as you scroll down thru items the app becomes unusable. Format. iPhone 16e

### 2/5 — Great app but…

*2026-04-24, version 3.10*

We have bought some really good things off of this site and we really liked it. The last time I went to pick up items. One of the workers revealed that a bunch of people beat them out for stuff. It didn’t sit right with me that they were bidding against us. Because now I wonder. Can they see what I did bid? Are they running up the auction? For me. The app works fine. As long as you make sure you select shipping before you bid or pickup.

### 2/5 — Could use a few improvement

*2026-04-22, version 3.10*

No way to contact the person running the auction
No hyperlink or way to copy and paste the contact info.

Or worse the people running the auctions do not respond to emails.

Wouldn’t be nice to see a closed auction that you were watching to see what it sold for. So you can gauge the market .

Also perhaps it could search a favorited location for upcoming auctions

### 1/5 — Worst App ever

*2026-04-13, version 3.10*

Cannot make bids cause of awful sign in. Won’t take any of my info. Says my info was deleted but the app won’t accept any new information to reactivate. I am a dealer. I spent good money. I give up.

### 2/5 — Update No 2: Twitches and jerks

*2026-04-08, version 3.9*

It’s doing it again. 4/8 Please fix. While you are at it, please allow us to see the whole auction info/picture in the feed instead of having 60% of the screen taken up by white and a title?

Thank you for fixing this! Sooooo much easier to use and no more twitching! 🔥

Previous review! It is nearly impossible to scroll through the auctions because the constant twitching yanks the item you’re looking at away, and doesn’t stop. I can’t stand it. It’s like torture for your nerves and your eyes. Plus my phone gets burning hot from using it. Do you enjoy getting low ratings? PLEASE fix this.

### 2/5 — If you like logging in every time, this is the app for you!

*2026-04-06*

This app is so frustrating. It logs you out constantly, even when you say “remember me”. I have to log in multiple times a day, almost every time I open the app (and even in the website, so it’s obvious an issue with CTBids tech). Since I use Google to login, this means I have to go through pop ups asking for my Google account and then another pop up to confirm… it takes a good minute to just log in and having to do it multiple times a day when you open the app every time is a deal breaker for me. eBay keeps me logged in just fine.

### 1/5 — Still glitchy

*2026-03-18, version 3.9*

When scrolling the page is jumping with every second that ticks off the time. Some have said that an update for Apple fixed this for them but not for me. I have deleted it and reinstalled and it’s still the same jumpy pages.

### 2/5 — App is getting worse

*2026-02-15, version 3.9*

I’ve used and enjoyed CTBids for years but the app just gets worse every time it’s updated. While scrolling through the list of items, it jitters up and down. I assume it’s loading pics or ads but it didn’t use to do this and it’s nearly impossible to use. I think it started about the time you added a premium membership and displaying ads for unpaid accounts.

### 1/5 — Extremely Disappointed with CTBIDS and Caring Transitions Shipping Practices

*2026-02-13*

I am extremely frustrated and disappointed with the experience I had using CTBIDS and its affiliate, Caring Transitions. What should have been a simple purchase turned into what feels like a complete bait-and-switch. I purchased a $6 item and was clearly told that the total shipping cost would be $15 all in. After the purchase was finalized, I was then told shipping would actually cost $27. That is nearly five times the value of the item itself. This is unacceptable. When customers are told a total cost upfront, that number should not suddenly change after the fact. It feels deceptive and misleading. Hard-working people budget their money carefully, and changing shipping costs after purchase makes it seem like customers are being taken advantage of. The partnership between CTBIDS and Caring Transitions only makes this worse. If affiliates are representing the platform, then CTBIDS is responsible for how those affiliates treat customers. Passing the blame back and forth does not solve the problem. Transparency and honesty should be the bare minimum for any online marketplace. Instead, this experience left me feeling misled and frustrated. I will be NEVER use CTBIDS again, and I would strongly caution others to STEER CLEAR from purchasing. This entire situation could have been avoided with clear, accurate pricing and straightforward communication instead i have to jump through loopholes to get this solved. Very disappointed.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating unexpected shipping costs can be. Each Caring Transitions office that hosts auctions on CTBids is independently owned and operated, and shipping and handling is managed directly by the local team running that sale. We encourage you to connect with the local office that managed the auction so they can review the situation and work toward a resolution with you.

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2026-02-08, version 3.9*

While trying to go to a particular location and a particular sale, once I click on the sale I want to go to. It’s just a bunch of words and I’m getting nowhere. On top of that all the words are jumbled together and overlapping on your homepage.

### 1/5 — Twitches and jerks

*2026-02-04, version 3.9*

It is nearly impossible to scroll through the auctions because the constant twitching yanks the item you’re looking at away, and doesn’t stop. I can’t stand it. It’s like torture for your nerves and your eyes. Plus my phone gets burning hot from using it. Do you enjoy getting low ratings? PLEASE fix this.

### 1/5 — Terrible interface

*2026-01-26, version 3.9*

This could be awesome. But apparently whoever they have in charge of designing the app hasn’t actually bought anything from it.

Search has no filtering for distance, price, closing soon; or anything else that was available on eBay 20 years ago.

It’s as if they decided that they were going to reproduce the estate sale process with absolute fidelity. You show up with no idea what might be there, Hope to find something interesting.

As a customer on both sides (I liquidated a house using their services and have bought a few things) I’m appalled that they are leaving so much money in the table for both their customers and themselves. All the pieces are there but clearly they don’t have someone who knows how to design a digital customer service.

### 1/5 — Janky at best

*2026-01-26, version 3.8*

This app barely wanted to work before. But now I can log in using my Apple ID. I need to be able to login to that account but to no avail. Customer service is dismal

### 1/5 — Are You Paying A Developer For This?

*2026-01-25*

Genuinely a horrible app experience. After using it for years, I’ve watched it go from pretty lousy and lacking useful features to really dang bad but semi-functional to no longer even working. I cannot even log in via Apple. The ability is just gone and so I have no longer access to my account.

But don’t worry! I still get 20+ spam messages a day that won’t stop no matter how many times I unsubscribe. I worry that you’re paying a software developer to execute what is essentially elder abuse bc if you don’t know how bad your platform is, they’re taking advantage of that. ITS BAD. The ads. The spam. The thoughtless UI. I give up.

### 1/5 — Update?

*2026-01-22*

So we updated the app. Cool. But it’s still SO BAD. First, can’t zoom when on the main feed page, it does a weird center thing OR it clicks and opens a listing. Second, you all removed the city location of the item from the main feed listing, so do you want less sales? Like make it make sense. Third, allow for scrolling through photos on the main feed without opening the listing item. And fix the “click on photo to enlarge” bc that is ….. stupid. Four, stop making me login every 15 minutes if I click “KEEP ME LOGGED IN.” Fifth, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY STOP SENDING ME EMAILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now adding sixth, when making a winning bid - you don’t even know if you’re winning 😂😂😂 like men had to have designed this. I already know it was men. Seventh, notifications don’t work. If you literally click on the bell icon, nothing happens. So if you manually go to notifications on the webpage (not the app bc there isn’t one!! Go figure!!) it will say SMS notifications are turned on but they are not. So you won’t get a notification if you’re outbid.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We know that features like intuitive search, easier photo browsing, and real-time updates are key to a smooth bidding process—and these are all areas we’re actively working to improve.

We truly appreciate you shopping on CTBids and supporting seniors and their loved ones through life transitions. Our team monitors the site and app daily, and we’re committed to ongoing improvements based on feedback like yours!

### 1/5 — Email distribution list hell

*2026-01-14*

I've used the app for a year and a half and never had this particular problem before. It use to be that any time you bid on an item you were automatically added to that sellers email distribution list. Annoying as there was no way to opt out until their email hits your inbox and you can then unsuscribe.

However this changed back in December 2025. I bid on only a few items from 2 or 3 sellers and somehow got signed up for every single sellers email list. I have been getting multiple emails a day and no amount of unsubscribing makes them stop. From December 23rd until this morning January 14th I have received 55 emails for new and ending auctions that I never signed up for. And they. Just. Don't. Stop.

Not only does this particular issue need to be fixed, but people should have never been automatically signed up for emails just by bidding on an auction to begin with. There is no user setting you can turn off in the user account settings. The marketing email checkbox in my user preferences section has not been checked for over a year and I'm still getting the emails every time I bid.

Edit: received 58 emails. I received 3 more within 30 minuets of writing this review.

**Developer response:** Hi Andrew,

Can you please reach out to us at marketing@caringtransitions.com so we can dig into this for you?

Thanks!

### 1/5 — Horrible app

*2026-01-12*

I have done many purchases though CT bids in the past. But the app is horrible to use. It is hard to scroll through and look at the items in a bid since over that the screen is filled with other information, you can’t easily zoom in to see the picture of an item without clicking on the item but if you click on the item and then go back to continue scrolling through the sale it takes you back to the beginning. I had hoped they would fix this app over time and make it more user friendly but I am going to have to delete the app and just use the website since the app is so horrible to try and use.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to leave a review and for being a loyal CTBids shopper. We appreciate your continued support over the years and value the feedback you’ve shared.

### 1/5 — Amazingly got worse. And now they ruined the website

*2025-12-10, version 3.6*

It’s incomprehensible to me how someone could have taken a functional - albeit dated - website and remove all the basic functionality.

How do I find favorite locations? Is it on the locations tab? Nope. How about the favorites tab? Nope. I seriously cannot find my favorite locations.

Now I need all the app because for some reason you’ve decided to auto redirect mobile website traffic to this broken app that Is a disgrace. The fact this is so low rated for such a niche product is embarrassing.

Why won’t you simply do some user testing? Sit someone down, give a brief explanation (this app is supposed to allow a user to easily browse locations and items for estate sales). Then tell them to
1. Find the locations within 50 miles of their zip code.
2. Mark the locations as favorites, so they don’t have to search hundreds locations.
3. Log out.
4. Log in and navigate to their favorite locations.
5. Etc.

Did your developer {revise you with all the test plan for you to review and approve? If not, they’re not a real developer.

Previous:
I used to be able to login, click on favorite locations and immediate see if there were new auctions. For some reason they’ve buried favorite locations, once you find it it isn’t obvious if there are new auctions and the button to “see auctions at this site” is tiny. Can’t click on the box for the location, the photo or anything other than a tiny button.

If you find a new auction they have removed the category summaries - they used to put a little number by each category for the number of items in the category. Now it’s gone. I thought it couldn’t get worse, but now they’ve paged the category list so you have to keep on clicking “load more” just to get through the list of categories. Oh and guess what?

When you click on the cwtegory to see if anything is in there (as they removed the number of item as part of the category title) it resets the list and you’re back to clicking load more from the start.

It took 1-2mins to find new auctions in my favorites and see it new items are available of interest. After trying several times I’ve finally given up. It is clear they do not want people using the site.

The site has a permanent banner pushing people to use this app! Why on earth would you put a link to something one of your friends kids did as a school project? This app doesn’t just look bad, it’s lacks the functional of the site.

I’m surprised the reviews are this high. I have a 2 just because I feel guilty as a long time user of the service. I hope someone as least reverts the website back to usable.

Have some brand pride and shut this app off. It’s an embarrasment.

### 1/5 — This app is a mess

*2026-07-16*

Update July 2026: PLEASE MAKE THE JERKING STOP!!!! You fix it, then fix something else which makes it jerk again. Please hire someone with even a fraction of a modicum of Apple iOS knowledge! I don’t use my computer to bid.

Original review: If you want people to buy, you can’t have the screen continually jumping up and down, yanking the photos or the auction out of your view! Makes one nauseated to look at it!

Update Spring 2026: Also you could make the title a bit smaller because you can’t see the whole picture let alone any of the description as you are browsing through the lists. We don’t need to see AUCTION TITLE AT WHATEVER TOWN in GIGANTIC LETTERS - At the top taking up half the screen - we know what auction we picked to browse! Maybe get someone who *knows* about about iOS to work on it? Ugh.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and update your review. We’re happy to hear you are enjoying your experience. Thanks for shopping CTBids!

### 1/5 — Was decent; now it’s broken

*2026-07-08*

Update: apparently, the developers have zero interest in fixing this mess of an app, as the few responses I’ve read to the recent updates that is causing so many crashes is along the lines of “so glad to hear you are happy with the app”. Perhaps, if we reviewed in zeros and ones instead of words, which seem to be confusing you, you would comprehend that no one is happy right now and your app is BROKEN?!
I’m deleting this app now, and ATTN, CT BIDS: I will not be using or recommending your sales until you have fixed this mess. The website is also a mess now. Maybe you need to spend some of those 18% profits on a new web and app designer? Really disappointing.
The website is much easier to use than the app, but the app was good for quick searches or monitoring your bids on the go. A few weeks ago, that all changed. Now the app opens for a split second, and then closes. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading the app, switching to the app from the website, and both options had the same results. It shows a “check Internet connection” message at the top of the CT Bods Home Screen on the app, and then codes out quickly. This occurs, regardless of WiFi connection strength, so that message is actually an error as well.
The good news is that I didn’t realize how much I was using the app, and now that I can’t open it, I rarely bid on anything, so that’s a money saver for me. But I really enjoyed the auction site, so it’s sad that they broke the app.

### 1/5 — Incredibly unreliable.

*2026-06-25*

I waited for 9 days for a group of auctions to end, they ended today so I went to place bids, app wouldn’t load, the page come up and then closed immediately, every single time. I restarted my phone to see if it’s my phone, nope. After about 5 minutes of trying, it opens, then it shows that I have no favorite auctions listed, which I do, quite a few.

So thanks to this app I missed the auctions I patiently waited in for 9 days on items that were incredibly hard to find that I was willing to spend quite a lot of money on. Every single item in the group that I was watching ended before the app started working again.

I also tried the website, it had issues as well. And I screen recorded all of this because I’m sure I’ll be told it was my phone. It wasn’t, I recorded and internet speed test to show it was working pert.

### 1/5 — Will not launch

*2026-06-25, version 5.0*

Downloaded 3x to iPhone 17 pro and the app refuses to open. It attempts to launch but as it lands to sign in page it crashes every time

### 1/5 — Crashes at the worst time - Zero Stars

*2026-06-25, version 5.0*

Once again the ap crashes at the end of an auction while trying to place bid. Not the first time. Other auction sites managed to figure how this works. Why can’t CTBIDS???

### 1/5 — Horrible!

*2026-06-25, version 5.0*

I don’t know what is worse. Their app or their website…

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2026-05-31, version 3.10*

Not only does my search engine not even work with nothing showing up but even the websites search engine is horrible only using the first keyword you type in and still somehow showing a majority of things that don’t match your category of search whatsoever

### 1/5 — Terrible filtering

*2026-05-25, version 3.10*

You search a very specific phrase and get a bunch of garbage that is totally unrelated to your search, like pages of stuff unrelated.

Do the people who design the app ever actually use it? It’s honestly laughable. You’d think they would want to narrow down the search to help their CT bids franchises reach their intended consumer.

### 1/5 — Exceedingly Disappointing

*2026-05-01*

There needs to be a way to rate each of the various sellers on this app, so buyers can help others to know which sellers to avoid. There are some great sellers, but the more I buy, the more shady sellers I encounter. I bought two lots from one sale, some pants and some purses. There was one pair of pants that absolutely reeked of mold. So bad I don’t know anybody could miss that. The purses were all strategically photographed to mask the fact that the vintage furs were crumbling. What might have been salvageable of both lots were ruined by the moldy pants. Had to dispose of all of it, after spending $100. Bought a lot of clothes from a seller in Hawaii. The listing warned that shipping would cost at least $35, and it said bulky items would be shipped by a third party, which would also incur a $10 delivery fee, for delivering to the shipper. (On top of the buyers premium.) I didn’t realize that clothing would be considered too bulky to pack. The retail usps price for shipping my lot was $35. I was charged $128 for shipping that took 3 weeks. Had I decided that shipping was too exorbitant to pay, they would have charged me $50 to dispose of the items I bought. And they were quite rude. Many sellers don’t have a clue about customer service, and they act as if they are doing you a favor by allowing you to shop. They clearly don’t care about integrity, because there’s no transparency or accountability and good luck actually getting any response from CT bids. There needs to be a way for buyers to hide or block individual sellers. There are too many sellers that are crooks.

**Developer response:** We appreciate your honest feedback and understand your concerns. Shipping times can vary depending on the seller, and we’re always working to improve consistency across the platform. If you ever experience issues with unresponsive sellers or missing items, please reach out to our support team so we can assist in resolving the issue. We’re glad to hear that you’ve had positive experiences with some sellers, and we truly appreciate you being a part of the community. If there’s anything we can do to help, don’t hesitate to reach out!

### 1/5 — Shipping Costs RIDICULOUS

*2026-04-24*

First off, there seems to be no regulation over shipping charges by the Company who hosts all of the online auctions on this app. $20 items cost $10 extra for shipping. Spend over $75-$95, add another $20-$30 for shipping. Well, maybe it’s because the items you buy are big you ask? No, they are coins! 3oz packages cost $10-$20 shipping & handling. Don’t want to pay that much on shipping? Forfeit the item you won without refunding the money you spent winning it. On a totally separate subject, I see fake coins being sold, misrepresented coins, and there is no option to report them as far as I can see in the app. I will be paying for the last couple of items I won and deleting this app.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Hands down the best

*2025-03-05, version 2.7*

I’m a premier member and couldn’t be happier with my experience here. Always timely deliveries and accurate descriptions. do you own research when placing a bid is my only suggestion. Great company to do business with!

### 5/5 — What a great find!

*2025-01-23*

I found an amazing air compressor for a great price. It was in great condition and works perfectly. They were incredibly helpful when I picked it up, as I was having some back problems at the time and they helped me get it into my car. You won’t get that kind of service at Walmart.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your kind review! We always strive to offer exceptional service, so it’s wonderful to know we were able to help you out when you needed it.

### 4/5 — Update: Twitches and jerks

*2026-02-26*

Thank you for fixing this! Sooooo much easier to use and no more twitching! 🔥

Previous review! It is nearly impossible to scroll through the auctions because the constant twitching yanks the item you’re looking at away, and doesn’t stop. I can’t stand it. It’s like torture for your nerves and your eyes. Plus my phone gets burning hot from using it. Do you enjoy getting low ratings? PLEASE fix this.

**Developer response:** Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and update your review. We’re happy to hear you are enjoying your experience. Thanks for shopping CTBids!

### 4/5 — Better than it was

*2025-08-07, version 3.2*

Just a couple of suggestions- I realize the thumbnail for a lot is small, but it would be helpful to have a lot number. It would also help to have the city or zip code listed. I usually have only my favorites pulled up near the end of the auction. Sometimes, I will make a bid based on where the item is located if two auctions are happening at the same time. I may choose to not bid on one of the auctions based on whether or not I have won anything yet. If two auctions are ending at the same time, it can be confusing. It would also be nice to see more screen on the mobile app if I’m checking out an auction. Otherwise, the app works well for me.

### 4/5 — I love it and it’s Almost Perfect

*2024-06-21, version 2.0*

Almost perfect,
it needs the ability or link to see the rest of a collection.

For example,
If a item was suggested from a different lot,
One should be able to follow a link to that item then the entire collection.

### 4/5 — Overall very good. Has minor bugs.

*2023-10-26*

This app is very lean, it runs smooth, and isn’t laggy or super buggy. Function was prioritized over form and I appreciate that immensely. It’s not beautiful or sleek, it’s just a very reliable chunk of code that just does what it needs to do and isn’t bloated in any way. A really good initial release. Well done.

The main issue I notice is the top two results of any search query don’t show photos on the results page—you have to click through to the actual auction listing to see the photos. That needs fixing asap.

I also would highly suggest labeling the buttons of the function row on the bottom, as the logos don’t make it clear what they are meant to do. I find myself pausing trying to figure out which one to push to go where I want to go in the app.

### 3/5 — Can’t see the items

*2025-10-24, version 3.4*

Long auction titles fill up the screen and make it difficult to view the items. Suggested truncating the name to a single line so you can view the items.

### 3/5 — Can’t see entire screen

*2025-10-12, version 3.3*

Impossible to see the current bid on my saved items through this app. It’s so frustrating that I just give up and go to other online bidding sites.

### 3/5 — No back button?

*2025-07-02, version 2.9*

Suddenly cant hit the back button to return to the list of local sales. Becomes a huge chore if you're trying to browse them all.

### 3/5 — Estate sale

*2025-06-20, version 2.8*

Most of the stuff I get is obviously used but last sale I bought a stereo that didn’t even work
For $40 bucks and never got an email or call from the seller . Be careful what you buy and plug in before you leave , you’d think that they would ensure it works before selling
