However, the app has become very slow, frequently freezes, or gets stuck loading. Has anyone looked into whether the growing amount of stored information and increased number of users are contributing to these performance issues? It seems like a pretty straightforward equation: more data + more users = the app needs better optimization. I hope the developers can improve the speed and stability because the new features are useful, but they’re frustrating when the app is difficult to use. Come on, guys. Great features deserve great performance too. Don’t make us watch the loading circle longer than our doctor’s waiting room. 😅 And no worries my phone and app are up to date. **Developer response:** Hello, app slowness issue is resolved, if you are still facing any issue please drop an email to ctcgo@callthecar.com ### 2/5 — 😤 *2026-07-23, version 1.40.0* This app got so many bad reviews during the long period of time and … nothing’s changed. Drivers come to the other side of the city to pick up, current day trips are disappearing or activating the next day trips. For God’s sake maybe just rename the app so we don’t need to CALL THE CAR all the time! Cause it’s the only option to communicate, not the app ### 4/5 — Service *2026-07-15* With all of the service changes to Medicare and what rides they pay for, and they don’t in the distance to and from the pharmacy For the most part approximately eight out of 10 times. Call The Car comes on time as scheduled and they send me the information. What company is going to pick me up the day before and I’m aware of what’s going on. In those two times they either don’t show up or they show up so late. I miss my appointment. But it’s not. Possibly the most glitchy app I’ve ever used! Doesn’t recognize member numbers, will not allow you to add your address when trying to book a ride, good luck putting in a pick up address. If a driver cancels, you’re left to trying to find a correct number to call in order to get a ride as the app is of no help. Says one must inquire 24 hours to book. Fix this app! Now I have to call my insurance to activate my ride because I can’t do it on the app since it stays on the loading screen then times out. It works fine to book the ride but when I’m done with my appointment and click activate ride, it’s stuck on a loading screen until it times out. ### 1/5 — Latest update broke the app *2026-06-24, version 1.38.0* Now completely unable to make a reservations as the app doesn’t calculate the distance when the departure and the destination addresses are entered, and generates the error ### 1/5 — Worst update *2026-05-10, version 1.37.0* Worst app and company I have ever seen. It’s a inconvenience and doesn’t work properly ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — They should rename this app Crash and Free3 *2026-08-04, version 1.40.0* I hate calling to make the reservations, but dealing with this app is so much worse. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-08-01, version 1.40.0* You have to update this app EVERY SINGLE TIME you use it, and it's never once gotten better. ### 1/5 — Drivers Cancel Without Consequences *2026-07-31* I’ve used this app for two weeks worth of appointments now and have been stranded three times. Drivers accept rides they have no intention of doing just to “grab” a customer before anyone else, then see if it’s worth their time and money, and typically cancel. Often no replacement is found, and more often than not, the replacement driver cancels too. When calling Blue Shield, they’ll struggle to find a driver, and when they do, they don’t stay on the phone with you until you’re in the car, so inevitably a cancellation happens and you have to call CTC helpline all over again. One Rep promised to remember me and keep my profile up so when their system came back up , he would eventually find me a ride home. Hours passed, never heard from him again, and the ride, now a week old, shows as pending on the app screen. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work. *2026-07-29, version 1.40.0* Whenever you need to use the app it doesn’t work. If you update it, you will have to login again. ### 1/5 — App used to be convenient *2026-07-27* Now every update it just gets riddled with bugs, error, messages, and ridiculous lag and crashes while you’re making an appointment to the point it’s just more convenient to call the insurance company to make the ride. You’ll think that the app is fixed only for it to crash for another silly reason when you’re making a time or trying to enter an address then you have to start over and pray that you can even make your appointment on the app. Contacting their IT is useless too because they don’t reply so now I’m writing a review. I don’t understand why they have to update things and each update makes it unusable and inconvenient. It used to be easier when you could just enter the name of the facility without having to wait for a long list that obviously crashes the system. They should hire someone competent to fix the app because at this point, it feels like it’s on purpose. ### 1/5 — keeps changing the date of appointments *2026-07-25, version 1.40.0* app keeps moving up the dates of my appointments so when the time comes to call them they've expired. for example, I have an appointment at the clinic tomorrow and the app is showing it for today. by tomorrow the ride will no longer be showing up on the app and I'll have to call customer service to be able to activate it. very frustrating !! ### 1/5 — Forced updates weekly *2026-07-20* If you don’t allow it to update, it will not allow you to use the app and every time it needs an update you gotta put in a complex passcode to re-sign in so if you don’t have the passcode with you, you’re locked out so when you put it on your phone, it controls you and not you it.
