This app needs to be rethought. Go use Hy-Vee’s app and compare it to what you’ve built. ### 2/5 — No Apple Pay? *2026-05-20, version 27.16.0* What happened? This app used to have pay with Apple Pay, used it all the time. Now that option is missing and will not store my credit card information with Cub. I sign in to my account using apple, and it just opens cub.com in the in-app browser. I attempted to login in order to obtain coupons and a login prompt opened up. As I logged in, the same prompt keeps opening for me to sign in. Twice now our pick up order was moved a full day because of not having shoppers available. I asked the person who was (finally) shopping my order for my receipt. and she said, you’ll get a digital receipt. This means we are paying Instacart increased prices. No thank you. I’ve had messages pop up regarding Cub coupons or sales, when I click on them, they disappear. I can’t find them anywhere in the app. ### 2/5 — Can’t even use it functionally 1/1/26 update *2026-01-02, version 26.94.3* Update: it got even worse. I can't access my cub rewards. It just keeps having me sign in over and over again. And it just went out of my order and made me sign back in again. I really want to be able to use this app. Please fix this. The update made it worse. System is so faulty I can’t even log in to purchase things through the app or access my account. It’s lot easier to use Walmart or Target when searching for food Cub app will make it complicated and difficult ( unless you like going through a bunch stuff you aren’t looking for, flavors your not asking for then you like this app) Checking out on the Cub app ( Yes buying food and giving them your money is a hassle ) will test your patience you may need back out the app so make sure you mark everything as your favorite or have a grocery list to remember. Out of stock items are not being updated so if you have taste for something you have to be willing to adjust to something kind of like it ### 1/5 — Annoying *2025-12-16* The new app looks fine, but there are two things that constantly annoy me. 1. When a pickup order is ready, I am asked if I am coming. I confirm that I’m on my way, but the app interprets this as I’ve ALREADY arrived, so an employee brings my order out before I’ve even arrived. 2. I am constantly berated with promotional offers via push notifications. There is no way to turn them off other than disabling notification for the entire app, thus making it hard to stay up to date with my pickup order. ### 1/5 — Gone Way Down Hill *2025-12-13, version 26.94.3* Since Cub sold their shopping app to Instacart, ordering and delivery is absolutely horrible. They can delay orders. It can take up to 24 hours to get a shopper. We used to be able to select the store we wanted to order from. Now all that is gone. Even Cub’s employees hate how this app works now. ### 1/5 — This Recent Update Destroyed It *2025-12-07, version 26.94.3* I rarely leave reviews on apps but goodness gracious did NO ONE test this update before pushing it out? The app makes you login every new screen, videos are auto-playing and taking over the whole screen, location is always randomly in a different state, ope you’re logged out again, and now the cart you just spent 30 minutes filling is empty! Fire whoever made this update, seriously. ### 2/5 — Not as great as they claim *2025-11-23, version 26.94.0* Plenty of bugs. It keeps switching my store in the settings without my knowledge, so I end up having a bunch of stuff I ordered not be in the order because the store they picked for me (without my consent) doesn’t carry those items. It’s annoying! Also, it costs way more with Instacart. Used to be Door Dash. Overrated over all. ### 2/5 — Update nightmares *2025-11-23, version 26.92.0* Every time they update their UI, it’s a massive step backwards. This newest update looks like someone tried to fit the entire app on the home page, so overdone. I remember the last ui update kept crashing my app. Cub IT does too much. ### 1/5 — App Won’t Open *2025-11-20, version 26.92.0* IPhoneX with iOS 16.1.1. When I click on the app, it flashes the Cub logo then immediately disappears. Tried rebooting and deleting/reinstalling the app but same results. ### 1/5 — Update *2025-11-18, version 26.92.0* For about a week now I can’t even open my Cub app. It kicks me off, I’ve rebuted my phone , I’ve deleted the app and it still kicks me off. Don’t like your new set up. ### 1/5 — I abhor the new app *2025-11-17, version 26.92.0* Not user friendly at all. You can no longer choose a store when you order for delivery (looks like you can set a different store in settings), leave a message for the picker when you place an order, choose a delivery time, etc. If they can’t deliver your order that day, they set you up for delivery the next morning. If you work, unless you know what store they chose for you so you can call and hopefully reschedule for a time that works for you, cancel your order if it has perishables. I’m off work today so it worked for me this time except having to keep checking to see what specific time it would be - so much for sleeping in. At least when they rescheduled me they kept the pricing that expired yesterday. If you don’t have app notifications turned on or miss the notification somehow you have to go into the app to find out any updates. Communication with the picker is through the app, delivery map is through the app (I didn’t see any way to open it outside the app). I ended up with those big white bags which I hate because they cut into my hands. On the new update you can not see anything. No real qualms with the core functionality. But, it keeps sending me annoying push notifications like apples being on sale - even though I have all marketing notifications turned OFF in the settings. Additionally, it seems that the app sometimes re-enables notifications that I have turned off. For example, today I saw that email notifications were turned back on. It is very frustrating. As such, I’ll be turning push notifications off again, which sucks because I do online orders and updates on them. ### 1/5 — Holding funds *2026-08-28, version 27.30.0* It has been three weeks since I’ve made my first pickup order on this app and they had to substitute for a cheaper item. I have not been reimbursed for this yet and it has been 3 weeks. $40 still not returned. Even sent in for help and there has been no resolution. Will never use again ### 1/5 — Unreliable *2026-07-09, version 27.20.0* Deliveries work most of the time but not always. For example, I put in an order for delivery the next day at 4pm and they keep rescheduling it out to the following day. Called the store and they have zero control over the orders and can’t help. Put in a help request in the app and it asks for order number which I can’t find anywhere, even on the desktop website. This isn’t even half baked, it is barely alpha quality.
