## What is Cuckoo?

Cuckoo is an HKU Moodle Client that automatically retrieves your events and courses and helps you boost your productivity. It has a much better performance than the official Moodle app and also integrates many other useful features. Free for all HKU students.

Cuckoo is originally a hobby coding project built to remind me of deadlines. Later I gradually expanded its features so that it could be shared with more general functionalities. Cuckoo is intended to help HKU students get better control of their academic studies and provide an easier way to access Moodle contents.

* Cuckoo makes it easy for you to check your Moodle events on your phone. You can view all the following information on one page with a single refresh:

- Event title
- Related course code and name
- Event description
- Deadline date and time
- Days left to the deadline
- Link to the event page

* Apart from the events on Moodle, create your own custom events to keep track of them. Custom events can be associated with an enrolled course for easier management.

* You can also mark events as completed so that they will be visually excluded and will not be reminded. Cuckoo can also sync completion status with Moodle.

* Visit all courses that you have enrolled on Moodle. You can mark some courses as favorite to focus on them only.

* View the Moodle page and the resource hierarchies of the course without manually logging onto Moodle. Click on any resource to download it, and export it to other apps for further processing.

* Visualize your workload in the calendar section. View events and suggested workload level for each day.

* Customize your reminders. Reminders can filter out events using reminder rules, and you can also choose from different timing schemes. Reminders are automatically applied to all events and you do need to set them one by one.

If you like or dislike Cuckoo, please leave your comments and your ratings, and I will constantly update Cuckoo to provide more exciting features.

It’s funny that the largest academic institution in Hong Kong can’t make an app like this to save students’ time and make things easier. HKU should pay you for this Ruijie.
