Learn the phrases people actually say — inside the conversations where they say them. Then keep them by coming back whenever you have a minute. Cue teaches English one piece at a time: usually a phrase, sometimes a single word. Every phrase arrives in a short dialogue between two people, so you hear how it lands, who says it, and what comes back. And the words that are quicker to see than to explain arrive as pictures instead — three of them, one word, and no translation, so the meaning reaches you without a detour through your own language. REVIEW, WITHOUT A LIMIT This is the part that does the work. Everything you have learned stays in review, and review is never capped. Waiting for a coffee, on the train, five minutes before bed — open Cue and something you have met before comes back with the answer taken out of it: a conversation playing up to the moment the phrase lands, or a picture with the word missing. Four options, one right. Each round draws afresh from everything you have learned, into a different conversation or a different picture. That is how a phrase stops being something you recognize and turns into something you say. WHAT IS INSIDE 2,286 everyday phrases, ordered by how useful they are in conversation — from "How are you?" all the way to the ones that make you sound like you live here. 6,858 short dialogues. Every phrase turns up in three different conversations, so you meet it three ways. 48,126 lines of dialogue, every one natural enough to say out loud exactly as it stands. Picture words, three pictures each, and the set keeps growing — new ones download on their own, no app update needed. HOW A NEW PHRASE ARRIVES Listen. The conversation plays line by line, words lighting up as they are spoken, with the phrase marked where it appears. No quiz — the first meeting is just listening. Say it. Once per dialogue, you can read the line out loud and see what Cue heard. No score, no red X, and Skip is always there — skipping costs you nothing. Or take a part. When a dialogue is finished you can play one of the two speakers and read their lines, turn by turn. HOW A PICTURE WORD ARRIVES Look. Three pictures of the same word, one at a time — the meaning is what all three share, not what any one shows. The word sits under the picture, and you can hear it read out, too. Then it comes back in review as one picture with four words under it, only one of which is true of what you are looking at. TEN A DAY, THEN AS MUCH REVIEW AS YOU LIKE New phrases are capped at ten a day (fifty on your first day), picture words at three. Short sessions beat cramming, and a day that ends feels like a day you finished. Review has no cap at all. WHAT YOU BUILD UP A streak counting the days you came back, and the last twenty weeks laid out as a grid you can read at a glance. Everything you have learned, listed newest first, with a page for each phrase: the day you learned it, how you have answered it, and the three conversations it was written for. FREE All of it. Every phrase, every picture, every review. No subscription, no paywall, no sign-up, no account. Dialogues work offline, and your progress follows you across devices through iCloud. (There is a coffee tip in Settings if you ever feel like it. It unlocks nothing.) The only ad is one you can turn down: an optional video, offered at most once a day and only once the day's learning is done. No banners, and no ad ever interrupts a conversation. How good Cue sounds depends on the English voices installed on your device. If you only have the compact ones, Settings shows you how to add an Enhanced or Premium voice. Speaking practice hears you more accurately. Words you had actually said were sometimes shown as missed — contractions, possessives, and a few words that sound like other words. The first lesson no longer starts playing behind the microphone permission dialog. It waits until you have answered it. Cleaner text. At certain positions a row of pixels was dropping out of letters, and a caption on the celebration screen could be cut off in some languages. New dialogues and picture words keep arriving on their own, as always — those do not wait for an update. ### 1.2 — 2026-08-26 Picture lessons. Some words are quicker to see than to explain, so now they arrive as three pictures and one word — and come back in review as a picture with four words under it. Read-aloud roleplay. Finished a dialogue? Take one of the two parts and read their lines, turn by turn, with the words lighting up as you are heard. Your phrases, listed. Everything you have learned, most recent first, with a detail page for each one — when you learned it, how you have answered it, and the three conversations it was written for.
