### 3/5 — Good when it works

*2023-09-06*

Touted as almost as accurate as a PCR test, the Cue reader is really handy to have at one's disposal. And when it works, it's great. The problems I have with it are the cost and reliability of the tests. Three times I've had the reader claim something had gone wrong with the test and cancelled it. That's $150 out the window. If you're going to charge a premium price for a premium product, make sure it works or have an easy way to refund your customers.

**Developer response:** Thank you for your feedback! This is definitely not the experience we want you to have. If you are still experiencing issues, please email support@cuehealth.com and a member of our Support Team will investigate.

### 3/5 — Works fairly well most times, but

*2023-07-24*

I’ve been using this system at work for a few years now, and have mixed reviews. I work for one of the largest tech companies around and they do a humongous business with this company. I run into problems occasionally with a invalid return on my test, or I have had multiple test cancellations for no known reason. These test kits cost a lot of money, and although I’ve recently found ways to get reimbursed for a wasted test, this is extremely inconvenient and a nuisance to me and my thousands of coworkers. just now, while running a test, I got prompted to do a software update again using this reader, something I’ve done most recently two weeks prior. Doing a update in the middle of a test is something I’ve learned not to do, as I risk test cancellation. At $60-$80 a pop, this is no laughing matter, and these issues need to be resolved in order to keep this system more credible. I do like the PDF results notifications regarding my test, that in the software interface seems to work really well.

### 2/5 — Poorly designed machine defeats cool science

*2022-12-14*

I’m sure there is some very cool, very advanced science happening behind the scenes in this machine, but the machine itself is horribly designed from a user’s perspective.

The Cue machine is battery powered, but you can’t actually turn the machine off to conserve battery. If the machine is too low on battery, then it can’t run a test until the machine is sufficiently charged. The ultimate effect is that you spend 20 minutes every time you want to test just waiting for the machine to charge so you can run a 25 minute test. The machine can’t be moved while a test is in progress, so it’s unclear what advantage being battery-powered even offers.

Then there are the cartridges. This is probably where most of the magic happens, so they are pricey. However, the failure rate is stunningly high. It’s like flushing $50 down the drain. Sure, they offer to refund you (usually), but by that point, you’ve spent nearly an hour charging your machine and running a test, all to get nothing. And unless you keep a sufficiently high inventory of tests, you could easily run out of them and be stuck with no tests and no results.

### 1/5 — Junk!

*2022-07-19, version 1.11.0*

This gadget is piece of garbage. I tried their test two time and both time before seeing the results it got an error and canceled.
It is not user friendly, very slow and super inefficient. I wish I could give them negative start.
Do not waste your time downloading the app, creating an account , updating their devices, fixing errors messages , ... for nothing.
It is definitely more convenient (and way faster) to drive by a store and buy a regular in home test.
I bet whoever designed this only cared the look not its functionality. It is a TOY...
Unfortunately by buying this device you only add an other garbage to the landfill.

### 5/5 — Easy to use! Peace of mind!

*2022-06-22, version 1.9.4*

Love my Cue Health system…the directions are very easy to follow. The assay test is very reliable which gives me peace of mind when symptoms show up that could be covid related and within 20 minutes I know if I am positive or not.

### 5/5 — Accurate and easy to use

*2022-05-30, version 1.9.4*

The Cue system has helped me and my family to continue to stay safe with one another in these tough times. The system is so sophisticated and gives me peace of mind when I perform a test and can rest assured knowing it will be an accurate reading.

### 5/5 — Another IG hit that is a life changer

*2022-05-15, version 1.9.4*

Saw it on Instagram. Passed it by numerous times. Finally broke down when I failed in the hunt for a stash of tests at the drug store.

I love this thing! Ordered it and it was delivered the same day. Makes me feel like a winner.

Have my supply of tests, the device is super easy to use and I am thrilled that the results are stored right in the app. It looks good, too.

Sad that life has come to this, but thankful that IG delivered this magical device.

### 1/5 — Tests expired too fast

*2022-05-14, version 1.9.4*

I paid $100 per tests and they expired yesterday, I can’t use them at all, seriously for one day?? I understand tests expires but at least they can give us the result and we decide to do whatever we want with them like any test available in a pharmacy. Now I have 5 tests that are useless, can’t believe how many tests I could have I bought somewhere else with the money spent on those 5 useless tests.

### 5/5 — Love my Cue Reader!

*2022-05-13*

The Cue Health Reader/Swab module is the best thing to hit the at-home Covid Test market since the onset of Covid-19. Sure, it’s more expensive then antigen tests, but because it’s a PCR test it catches nearly all asymptomatic cases. Unlike antigen tests, which often miss cases until symptoms have shown up for a few days. Plus, the ease-of-use is seamless between the app on your phone & the reader. Highly recommended!

Bonus: if you sign up for the annual plan, each test costs $52 and if you can get the $12 refund from your insurance company, the $40 price is only $25 more than at-home antigen tests.

Highly Recommended Five Stars! Used by the NBA & MLB, too.

### 5/5 — Love the app (and product). Needs family profile sharing.

*2022-05-09*

Absolutely love this product and the app makes testing super simple/easy. The only issue I have with it is the lack of family profile sharing. If I have the app on my phone and I start a profile, add then add my spouse and children, any other members of the family who want to run a test from their device also have to create a profile and add(/recreate) spouse and children profiles. It makes for redundant data entry and we also don’t have access to our childrens test results taken from another device. I know we can share (and that is admittedly easy enough), but in the hustle and bustle of trying to get kids back to school (and ourselves back to work) and adhering to re-entry rules everywhere, quickly being able to pull up test results for everyone has been something I’ve wished for a couple of times. It would be great if we had a family profile or dashboard of some sort. Love the product! It has already saved our behinds more than once and the technology is just so incredibly cool. Can’t wait to see what else Cue comes up with.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Do not purchase any more cue products!

*2024-06-11*

This is my third attempt to write a complete review and warning about cue’s dangerously fraudulent business practices! App Store keeps kicking me out! Short version: Cue no longer sells COVID cartridges at all, due to fda warning issued in may 2024: too many false negatives after cue made unapproved changes to cartridge chemistry after receiving emergency approval in 2020. Cue has closed all, means of communication, and fda recommends users discard all unused test kits. This app will NOT allow you to use those test kits, so you are out $50 for each of those. APPLE Should remove this app for the App Store asap!

### 1/5 — Bricked our tests, no customer service

*2024-06-07*

I’ve used the device successfully in the past, but they must have changed something recently. I can no longer use the tests that we have, even though have not expired. I’ve tried calling their help line, but apparently that number has been deactivated. I’ve also tried emailing their support, but it’s been several days without a response. It’s very frustrating to have several tests at hand that are apparently useless. Also, apparently the FDA has recalled their tests for giving the wrong results, so maybe that’s why they’ve bricked these tests, in which case the 1 star rating is valid.

### 1/5 — Cool when it works, bad support

*2023-02-19*

Cue reader and app were marvelous for the first year. Now the reader is a brick and won’t charge, run tests, or do anything. Probably something to do with this thing having a battery in it and not just working off line power like a normal well thought out device. Oh and this is after waiting months for an app update to stop it from crashing right away on login (can’t use the device at all if the app won’t launch). Support will give you the run around and send up cases to “technical support” wasting your time. They should just be able to send me a replacement reader without any of this ridiculous fuss. $200 reader + $650 tests + $20/mo membership that are completely useless. By the time this is resolved I won’t need a COVID test. Do not depend on this device or app for anything. It is a nice to have convenience that rarely works.

### 1/5 — Seriously!? Another of those apps…

*2023-02-07, version 1.15.7*

Made by infantile developers who just make money by selling your data. Difficult to setup with lots of clicks and passwords. Cartridges either malfunction or go out of date. Bluetooth connection fails. App randomly discards fresh cartridges as spent. Thousands of hoops and hooks. You get through 5 cartridges before getting any reading. I am not sure what those wonkers optimize for. It makes the whole system unusable. It takes hours to make it work.

And it needs to download half a gig to your phone. Who programmed it? Microsoft?

### 1/5 — Customer Service Horrible

*2022-11-06*

On top of the membership being expensive you have to buy the test separately. I think since Covid has come down, the membership fee has changed but for those that originally purchased a membership I am currently paying $44 a month. I purchased an additional set of test and unfortunately they all expired, and there is no way to use them when expired. They will find a way to charge your credit card even after you cancel. I even changed my credit card number and they still found a way to charge my new card. The machine itself is pretty nice. Easy to use.

### 1/5 — Totally Unreliable

*2022-09-21, version 1.13.1*

About half the time, you wait the full 30+ minutes to get your test results only to be told that there was a problem with the cartridge and the test was cancelled.

Why does it take so long to detect an issue?

It makes the device completely useless, because unless you have 90 mins to spare for a cancelled test or two you won’t actually know if you have COVID.

### 1/5 — Terrible software

*2022-09-18*

This company has major software issues. The app often takes forever to load. Sometimes it just hangs on the splash screen and never actually loads. Many times when I try to tap into the store it just crashes. Same thing when trying to get free replacement cartridges for failed test. Now I can’t log in. Every time the app starts to log in it crashes. Same issue just using their site and a browser. I try to log in and it just hangs forever.

Awful software and awful service. The kind where you contact them and they just blaim it all on you telling you to reboot un-pair and re-pair your reader. Never actually listening to your problem or accepting they have issues on their end.

### 1/5 — Impossible to cancel subscription - WARNING!!!

*2022-09-10, version 1.13.0*

This product works as a described however there are many other lower-cost or free options. I did subscribe to their terms of a one-year contract and upon wishing to cancel the process is nearly impossible.

I am unable to cancel by email through chat on the online service nor through the app itself despite what the tech-support team tells me. This is a very deceptive business practice and I would warn you before entering this long-term contract with them.

### 1/5 — Too many failed tests

*2022-08-28, version 1.12.1*

Too frequently, it takes 2-3 attempts to get a valid test result. It’s no fun asking your child to redo a swab every 20 minutes after each failure 20 minutes into the test, due to “defective cartridge.” Sure, CUE ships a free replacement cartridge, but spending hours retrying a test is not a good experience. Also, sometimes it takes many MINUTES for the app to be able to login.

### 1/5 — Beware: Membership is deceiving!!!

*2022-08-22, version 1.12.1*

We signed up for their Cue+ membership because we needed a proctored exam for travel. We figured the one month subscription price was worth it. However, when you sign up for the subscription you are committing to an entire YEAR of monthly $80 payments. They only mention this in the fine print and do not let you cancel. So we’re now paying $960 ($80 x 12 months) for a single proctored test. This company should be investigated by the FTC. Beware!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Never left the house

*2023-05-30*

No more appointments, no more waiting in lines, results in 20 mins … what more do you want?!?! Fast, accurate and if anything goes wrong (because chemistry and biology don’t always behave as expected) then FREE replacement. I’m sold! Can’t wait for the menu expansion where other tests are offered. I would get the reader now before price goes up once the other tests come out ;)

**Developer response:** Thank you for using Cue!

### 5/5 — Great to have

*2023-03-29*

I love this product, even though it is super expensive. Easy to use and you get detailed information that is said to be much more accurate than conventional COVID tests. I consider it the price of being able to engage in relatively risky activities lik going to a movie or play without unduly risking others.

**Developer response:** It's great to hear Cue is bringing you peace of mind!

### 5/5 — Excellent patient experience

*2023-03-05*

I love this app. But anyone can creat an app and a device. The patient care is what is truly impressive about Cue.

I tested positive for Covid yesterday after being symptomatic for a day. The app gave me the option of getting connected to a healthcare provider to get an antiviral prescription. I was on a video chat with them within 15 minutes. And I had my antivirals within a hour. Amazing!

**Developer response:** Thank you for using Cue!

### 5/5 — Love the app.

*2023-02-06, version 1.15.7*

The app itself is fantastic and easy to use, have resolved the issue where it crashed every time I try to enter a password, after I reinstalled it, so returning to 5 star rating.

### 5/5 — Ok but could be more reliable

*2022-10-29*

For others who may be facing this: Just upgraded my iPhone to the latest model and the app kept crashing when I tried to log in. I had to delete the app from my App Library and reinstall it.

Otherwise, some notes about Cue is that the cartridge seems to have a very high fail rate of ~30-50%. It’s worked perfectly on the first go sometimes but I’ve had a few occasions where two tests were canceled and the third one worked. This is really frustrating especially when the tests take much longer than antigen tests.

### 5/5 — Good replacement test kits

*2022-10-04, version 1.13.1*

I got a box of 10 test cartridge packs and they were defective. The app detected that something was wrong and allowed me to order the amount of failed packs for free! So far for me, Cue Covid testing has been accurate.

### 5/5 — Easy to use!

*2022-07-24, version 1.11.0*

This app makes testing for COVID so much easier! I love being able to test and get my results directly to my phone! Great for family gatherings

### 5/5 — Saved me!

*2022-07-21, version 1.11.0*

This device saved my skin! I was able to detect I had Covid before the rapid test were even working. it detected it almost a day prior saving me from spreading it at a big work event.

### 5/5 — When it worked loved the app

*2022-07-11*

When I first acquired cue health I was able to it and worked great. Now the app is not working and completely closes down as soon as I log in. What is the point of having testing conveniently at home of you aren’t able to use it? I’m very disappointed. I have not been able to access/use cue features for a couple of month. I submitted a request to their tech support and got an email it was assigned to a technician but nothing else 😒

### 5/5 — Wonderful for peace of mind!

*2022-07-09, version 1.11.0*

As above- bought this system in January and it’s been great. We can now confidently test & get valid results quickly, without hunting for a testing center (which are closing down now) gives us immeasurable peace of mind. Customer service is also excellent. Thank you for a terrific product.
