## What is Cue the Music Man?

Cue the Music Man is an iOS app that creates personalized 40-track playlists from a user’s typed prompt, an Imported markdown, text, or CSV tracklist, or a Shazam-identified song. Users can preview tracks, edit and reorder playlists, and save playlists to their Apple Music or Youtube Music library. The app uses Apple Music and Gemini to generate playlist recommendations and manage music-related features.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.0 — 2026-08-01

Turn screenshots into Apple Music playlists with AI-powered importing.
Cue now uses Apple Intelligence on supported devices to understand playlist screenshots, identify song and artist rows, clean up OCR mistakes, and match tracks with Apple Music. It can even combine multiple overlapping screenshots while filtering out browser controls and other on-screen clutter.

Also new:
Import playlists from images, Markdown, text, and CSV files
Add multiple playlist screenshots in order
Open imported playlists automatically
Access Shazam and imports from the new + menu
Improved track matching and import animations
Faster, more reliable playlist creation
Your screenshots are analyzed locally, your data stays on device.

### 1.2.6 — 2026-07-29

Cue the Music Man can now turn a playlist file into an Apple Music playlist.
Added playlist file import from the Chat tab
Import Markdown, text, or CSV tracklists

This update makes it easier to bring an existing tracklist into Cue and turn it into a real playlist with less friction.

### 1.2.5 — 2026-06-04

Improved playlist scrolling performance, especially while preview playback is active. Track preview progress is now updated more efficiently so browsing long playlists feels smoother and more responsive.

### 1.2.4 — 2026-05-23

Cue the Music Man just got better at building playlists from a vibe.

This update adds smarter “similar songs” handling, richer song suggestions, smoother add-song search, preview playback in more places, and cleaner playlist export behavior. We also tightened up music-provider settings and improved YouTube export reliability while quota limits are being sorted out.

### 1.2.3 — 2026-05-23

This update makes playlist editing smoother and smarter.

You can now add songs faster with automatic Apple Music search as you type, preview tracks directly from search and suggestion results, and scrub through previews before adding them. The Add Song sheet now also opens with playlist-based suggestions, giving you fresh songs that fit the vibe without needing to search first.

We also improved similar song recommendations so they feel more varied, with fewer repeated artists and better playlist-fit results.
