## What is CueCard?

Keep notes, reference material and to-do lists together in CueCard.

• Capture ideas: jot them down in the input field on the Home screen.
• Find what you need: use search, tags and pinned cards.
• Keep key points in view: show them in a Live Activity on your Lock Screen and check them at a glance.
• Make it your own: choose from a range of themes and fonts.

Notes are saved on your device by default, and you can export backups. We recommend turning on iCloud sync to keep a copy of your important notes in iCloud.

## Pricing and in-app purchases

Base price: Free.

**One-time purchases**

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.4.0 — 2026-10-27

New
• New color themes and app icons, with the option to switch back to Classic in Settings.
• Your edits now save automatically, with undo and redo available from the editing menu.
• Set your own folding point in a long item. Add five hyphens (-----) on a line of their own to hide the details that follow until you expand the item.
• More Japanese fonts: ZEN Maru Gothic, Noto Sans JP, and Shippori Mincho.

Improved
• The reading view now uses a continuous layout by default and remembers which groups are expanded or collapsed. Tap anywhere on a group heading to open or close it.
• Text stays as you typed or pasted it, including spaces, line breaks, and list markers. It is no longer automatically split into separate items.

Fixes
• Fixed several issues.

### 2.3.0 — 2026-10-19

• More font choices: choose a system font or download additional typefaces to make your cards more comfortable to read.

• Pull down to search: swipe down on Home to open search and quickly find the card you need.

• More flexible checklists: checking the last item keeps your progress in place. Starting or ending a Live Activity also preserves your checkmarks. Once everything is checked, save a checklist record if you wish, then reset the checkmarks separately when you want to use the card again.

This update also improves text layout and interface interactions, and fixes several known issues.

### 2.2.0 — 2026-10-14

Cards now offer Article View and Large Images. Article View presents your content in a continuous layout. With Large Images turned on, images are displayed at a larger size below the text, making notes with text and images easier to read.

You can now export a single card, making it easier to back up just the content you need. Longer cards are easier to navigate with the new outline: tap a group to jump straight to that part of the card.

Help cards are now available from the menu. New installations no longer add starter cards automatically, so you can open the guide whenever you need it.

A card can hold text and images or a checklist, giving you a flexible way to capture and organize your notes.

This update also includes interface improvements and fixes for a few issues.

### 2.1.0 — 2026-09-09

You can now add images to your cue cards. For things that are easier to show than explain, add a picture alongside your steps and notes. Everything stays together, ready for the next time you need it.

I’ve also reworked the card detail screen to make cards easier to read and edit. There are plenty of smaller improvements throughout the app, too, along with fixes for bugs that showed up in everyday use.

Thanks for using CueCard. If you have feedback or an idea you’d like to share, I’d love to hear from you by email.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-09-01

This is a big update. A designer friend gave the original interface a very honest critique, so I went back to the drawing board. With his advice, I reworked Home and refined many of the smaller details to make CueCard easier on the eyes and smoother to use. I hope you enjoy the new look.

What’s new
• A redesigned Home puts your active cue card, scheduled starts, reusable cards, and recent completions within easy reach.
• Confusing terms such as “lists,” “tasks,” and “focus” have been replaced with a clearer system: cue cards, steps, and active cards.
• Start a card and keep following your progress in the app, on the Lock Screen, or in Dynamic Island, checking off steps as you go.

Improved
• Starting, completing, saving, and reusing a cue card now feels more direct.
• Editing is smoother, too: you can now quickly update items, add new ones, or rearrange them right from a card’s detail screen.
• Search, tags, and the archive are all still here, but stay out of the way of what matters most: opening a card and getting on with it.
• Refined interface details and examples make it easier to create cue cards that fit your own routines.
• I also fixed a handful of issues I ran into in everyday use.

Safe to update
If you already use CueCard, everything will carry over: your cards, tags, archive, schedules, completion history, and iCloud data.

CueCard is an independent app that I build and maintain myself. Thank you for using it. If you have any feedback or suggestions, I’d love to hear from you by email.
