### 1/5 — No good

*2022-09-14, version 2.3*

This app is one of the worst. I have a twin oaks dual function grill. Every time this app closes the blue tooth disconnects. I have to reconnect it every time I close out of it. This app will also ring at any point in time if you’re cooking. Whether it’s on silent or dnd it will ring!

### 1/5 — App needs a lot of work

*2022-08-23, version 2.3*

App is garbage which renders the WiFi connectivity useless. My grill will only connect via Bluetooth and barely stays connected. When there is a notification it is almost impossible to end the alert. I WAS SOLD A FEATURE ON MY GRILL THAT I CANT USE. Please fix the app and firmware on the grill.

### 1/5 — Will not stay connected

*2022-08-22, version 2.3*

Doesn’t stay connected to probe which makes it basically useless.

### 1/5 — The app is garbage.

*2022-04-10, version 2.3*

The thermometer seems to work ok but the app has some serious connectivity issues. If you are buying this thermometer for the Bluetooth feature, look elsewhere.

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2022-03-31, version 2.3*

I have had no issues with the app connection. The issue is the recipes section is a total joke and the App in itself has little to no use whatsoever.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t stay connected and ignores alert settings

*2022-03-27*

Phone on silent or do not disturb? No problem! This app will gladly just make noise when In those modes. Smoking something and off to church? Despite being on silence, this app will embarrass you by interrupting any sermon no matter how silent you make your phone! Need to turn off the alarm? Nope! You have to close the app. Acknowledging the alert does nothing. Why? Who knows because this app will not stay connected for longer than about 20 seconds. Want to change your Wi-Fi? This app includes white text in a white edit field for your convenience. Editing settings gs has never been stupider. Smoker is great. App is hot, melted garbage.

### 1/5 — Brutal app

*2021-07-23*

I purchased an amazing smoker that works awesome. Thought it would be a cool idea to be able to have the ability to use it remotely, I WAS SO WRONG!!!! This app is so broken I can’t even get it to stay open, if it doesn’t crash I get nothing but I white screen. I can see from the reviews that I should not have given this app the benefit of the doubt. So disappointed!! I usually read the reviews and take them with a grain of salt, this time I should have listened to them. I hope you fix this app as I do think it would be awesome to use.

### 1/5 — App shuts down in the middle of a cook

*2021-07-11, version 2.2*

The app shuts down in the middle of long cooks. This isn’t acceptable for overnight brisket smoking since the temperature alarm doesn’t alert you. The range is limited but so are all Bluetooth devices. If the app could be trusted overnight, this would be a fine device / app.

### 1/5 — Why can’t they get it rite

*2021-07-08, version 2.2*

The module is reading 55 degrees the app says 155 2 minutes after putting the chicken on hope they understand people work for the money they spend on the products they pitch as working awesome

### 1/5 — Constant Bluetooth disconnect

*2021-06-19, version 2.2*

As I was setting up the thermometer, the Bluetooth disconnected after about 60 seconds, literally sitting on the table next to me. It hasn’t stopped disconnecting since. On my first use, it has disconnected about 50 times. I’ve been within 25 feet the whole cook time. It’s very difficult to use with the constant disconnects.

### 2/5 — Room for improvements

*2021-04-07, version 2.2*

Need the apple watch companion. Nowadays it is a must. Also the ui can benefits from some refreshments. Overall not bad but not good either.

### 1/5 — Nope

*2021-03-06, version 2.1.1*

The app and the hardware are both garbage. I can’t pair it to my phone, even after restarting both devices. Then tried with my wife’s phone, still no luck. Probes read different temperatures sitting right next to each other! Returning it tomorrow without even using it once!

### 2/5 — Fix this app please

*2021-02-28, version 2.0.4*

It is ridiculous how often this app disconnects even without movement away from grill. Incorporate more recipes as well. I love my wood creek grill and it’s the best (of four) pellet grills by a long way. This app isn’t doing the grill and experience any justice. Fix it immediately please.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App is sooo bad!

*2024-08-13*

New phone won’t let me finish logging it because it can’t get the grill on my WiFi. It’s already on my WiFi from my last phone. Can use the app at all!

With the old phone I had set a target temp alarm. You would think it a great feature, right? Nope! Next time you manually turn on grill and get it to temp AND then try to use the app, the alarm goes off and you can turn it off without closing the app, going to the grill and opening it up to cool down below the target temp before trying the app again. Basic testing could have caught this. Smoker is fine. WiFi and app are junk.

### 1/5 — Not Useful

*2023-08-08*

Not useful other than make an adjustment to your temperature, setting your probe temperature similar things like that there’s no other usage it does not save any favorites it does not save anything you want to save it does not give you any recipes maybe one the other ones does not show up not useful other than making heat adjustment an timer do work

### 1/5 — Junk

*2023-05-16*

The app constantly disconnects. Then when you reconnect the alarm goes off and continues to go off until you completely close it out. You have it open and close it 5-6 times before the alarm finally stays off. Then after 10 minutes the app disconnects and you have to go through it all again.

### 1/5 — App is Awful - Oakmont Grill is Awesome

*2023-03-26*

The app is so bad trying to use the grill the routine disconnect from your phone is bearable, you do have to reconnect it so that is annoying.

The ringing for when your grill is set to temp is INSANE. It will let you know over and over and over again.

Doesn’t matter if your phone is on silent, and turned down all the way, as soon as you open the app you can see they have developed it turn the volume up for you.

It is SO BAD, and basically unusable as someone who has a baby at home.

Get rid of the app - or fix the stupid ringing. Would be nice to use it to check probe temps without waking a baby.

### 1/5 — FIX THE ALARM

*2023-03-12*

Turn off the BLASTED ALARM. DISABLE IT. No one CARES what the notification is. App is unusable because a ringing tone continually plays until you force quit the app. WHO IS MANAGING THIS? Previous reviews all true- white text on white background for wifi entry, disconnect from unit after 5min or nearly every time the screen times out on your phone, but I could forgive ALL of this if the incessant ringer didn’t go off even when you’re out of the phone. Apparently it can’t stay connected to your phone but it sure can continue to RING!!!

### 1/5 — Pure crap

*2023-01-31, version 2.3*

There are so many bugs with this app its retarded. Swapping from BT to WIFI does not work. And then it wont pull up the option to reconnect to wifi. Have to delete app and reinstall to prompt wifi settings correctly. Last update was over a year ago by now. Its garbage.

### 1/5 — Grill is great!! App is the worst!

*2023-01-29, version 2.3*

Easy to use… if they would fix the bugs.
Will not stay connected.
Have to restart app to turn off alarm.
Several other annoying bugs.

### 1/5 — Update please?

*2023-01-23, version 2.3*

Hey could you update this app? Seriously. After 6 months of alarms going off randomly and won’t shut off. The app shutting down and refusing to stay connected. That a big company like cuisinart would have the state of the app. But no updates in over a year? Come on. Fix your crap before I sell my pellet smoker and buy one from a competitor that has a better app.

### 1/5 — Joke of an application

*2022-11-24*

You can’t go more than 10 feet from the grill or it will disconnect. What’s the point of paying for a “Bluetooth” grill if the app is garbage and does not stay connected. The whole point of the app is not to have to watch the grill yet if you’re within 10 foot you might as well just look at the grill. The app is absolutely pointless. Same thing with the temp probes. Waste of time fooling with the app. Grill is good, but I’ve had mine little over a year and the low auger sensor is constantly going off so I just left the grill on overnight out of pellets and the beeping finally stopped. Tried unplugging the sensor itself and it still goes off.

### 1/5 — App is trash

*2022-11-24, version 2.3*

Grill is great; app is trash.
Even if you could keep it connected, there no real reason to have it. Maybe 20 overall recipes on the app…none very impressive.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It works great

*2021-09-20*

Simple app and it works. Albeit you have to be in Bluetooth range. When it disconnects and automatically reconnects sans issues. Not sure if this is gimmicky or useful yet but regardless it’s a nice feature.

### 5/5 — Use with an Apple TV

*2021-03-30*

Yes, like many of the people have stated, you have to be close to the grill for Bluetooth to work. Not an app issue, that’s the technology.
I use an iPad and connect it to the grill, then screen share to my Apple TV. Let’s me see the temp while I’m working. I really like the target temp tracker so you can see how much further you need to go for a particular cut of meat!

### 5/5 — Thank you for updating

*2020-12-18, version 2.0.1*

Thank you very much for updating the app. It was necessary and we all appreciate you have taken the time to improve the app.

### 5/5 — Works Well - Just stay close

*2020-05-30*

The grill has been awesome! The app does help make it really easy, especially if you are cooking by temperature. Saw many say the app disconnects. That is NOT an app issue. It is just a distance from the grill thing - which is kind of a bluetooth thing.

I set my iPad up right inside my house where it has a good connection and leave it there. It stays connected the whole time and keeps me updated as needed.

### 4/5 — Not bad but not perfect

*2021-12-19*

I have a twin oaks pellet/ gas grill. I use the Bluetooth pretty regularly when I’m cooking I slow cooked meat. The Bluetooth connects good sometimes I have to reload it to get it to connect but overall very rarely do I lose connection. Granted if I get too far away from the Bluetooth on the grill it will lose connection so I’ve learned Not to get too far away from it. If you’re using a Bluetooth speaker you know good and well if you get too far from the speakers or get into an obstructed area you’re going to lose connection with those speakers. So I use the grill in the same mindset. I have had a grill for more than nine months now and use the app and I’ve just learned to work with it I don’t expect to be 50 feet from it and expected to work. The only downfall with the app is there isn’t much recipes on here so I’ll download Traeger app to get some better recipes. Don’t just return the grill because the Bluetooth doesn’t work you may be doing it wrong. This is a good grill are you going to lose out.

### 3/5 — Easy to use with extras

*2022-03-08*

App is easy to use with a couple extras. Recipes, history, big bold lettering and multiple timers are a huge plus. Downside? Well Bluetooth just isn’t it. It’s a horrible technology with range and kills the battery on your phone. This app would. R much better utilized with whole home Wi-Fi for range and usability. Keep working guys

### 3/5 — Constantly crashes

*2020-07-02, version 1.2*

The functionality of the app is great if it would work consistently. Problem is, it crashes constantly, so you can’t actually keep track of a grill/smoke and save your progress.

### 2/5 — Horrible

*2024-08-25*

The app is horrible. It’s been connected to Wi-Fi for a year, but now it won’t connect at all. The alarms go off incessantly and you can’t turn them off. click the button to clear alarm and nothing happens. It just keeps ringing. Have to close the app and restart it and in many cases the alarm will still go off.
I can’t believe this app got out the door with so many bugs.

### 2/5 — Is this app doomed?

*2023-07-27*

I bought this grill (twin Oakes pellet smoker/gas grill combo) off facebook marketplace. Grill itself works fantastic, but the app is wild. It does it’s basic job, but if you’re listening to music it either stops music when you open the app, or somehow adjusts the volume to max when you access app. It seems outdated and as if it was released and then forgotten about. Lots of mini bugs.

### 2/5 — App Needs work.

*2023-04-14*

This app definitely needs some work. Sometimes when my grill comes to temperature, the alarm will come on and just stay on no matter what I do I have to power my phone down before I can get it to stop. and no manageable settings to turn it off. I manage my grill pretty closely so the need to be such a persistent alarm is pretty annoying.
