No account, no tracking. ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 2.0.0 — 2026-09-17 Cupsight has a new icon: a cup and a speech bubble, the coffee journal that talks back. Onboarding now fits in two pages: your gear, then scanning your first bag. After a scan, whether from onboarding or the Coffees tab, you land directly on the bag's page, ready to start a brew. A valve brewer like the Hario Switch, Clever Dripper, or a Bonavita immersion brewer now builds a real immersion recipe: bloom with the valve open, a single pour with the valve closed, four minutes of rest, then opening the valve. Switching a plan's coffee maker to a different family, for example from an espresso machine to a filter, now resets dose and water to the new maker's starting point, instead of keeping numbers that no longer make sense. The rating shown for a coffee is now the average of all its rated bags, instead of just the last bag's rating. The reminder to rate a cup now arrives right when the live activity ends, forty-five minutes after tasting begins, never overlapping it on the lock screen. In Discover, popular coffee cards lose a stray outline, and a coffee's rating now also shows on its community page as soon as it has received one. The recipe editor for valve hybrid brewers is simpler: compose open and closed valve pours freely, in any order. A notification, opt-in in settings, lets you know if an app update hasn't been installed after two weeks. ### 1.21.0 — 2026-09-11 Every coffee maker has its own way of brewing. Dialing in a brew now follows the physics of each coffee maker, instead of one rule based on ratio. A French press shows its steeping time, a cold brew shows its own in hours instead of a running total, an electric drip machine shows only the tank to fill, and an espresso recap shows its temperature. A valve brewer like the Pulsar shows its opening moves instead of a pour style that doesn't apply to it. Each coffee maker also keeps its own temperature window: the app never pushes a value past what it can do, and never pulls back a value you chose. Fine tuning now follows the coffee and the coffee maker regardless of the starting recipe: switching recipes no longer starts from scratch. A precise instruction written in a cup's comment, such as an exact grind or temperature, is applied as is to the next plan. And on an espresso machine capable of pre-infusion, that setting becomes a possible lever to fix a fault, alongside grind and ratio. The number of blooms and pours is set with a visible control, in a recipe as in a brew, and a new recipe starts from one bloom and one pour. The scan now starts the analysis on its own as soon as the photo is taken, with no button to press, and shows the bag's cutout while it waits. The back is only requested when the roast date can't be read on the front, and the app clearly says when a photo doesn't show a coffee bag. After a brew, the rating slider now responds to a tap, not just a drag, and a cup left unrated gets one reminder, half an hour later. When a cup becomes your best for that coffee, the app offers to share its recipe right in the rating screen, with a button to decline. The new recommendation notification no longer repeats the coffee's name. On the home screen, the ready to drink carousel puts the coffee you're currently drinking first, then the ones whose window is closing soonest. On a plan screen, the figures card opens on tap, just like the edit icon. Adding gear now searches the whole catalog regardless of its type, and a coffee page asks for a missing grinder directly when the plan needs one. The lock screen widget gains two formats: the rectangle shows the coffee of the moment and its freshness, the circle freshness alone. In Discover, searching for gear (a coffee maker, a grinder) surfaces the coffees, recipes and profiles that mention it, and each result says why it's there. Settings can now delete your account and everything it has published. In Discover, opening "You have this coffee" on a community page now leads to your own page, and community brews use the same layout as your journal. ### 1.20.0 — 2026-09-07 The starting grind reads your coffee. For a first extraction, Cupsight composes the starting grind from the coffee itself: the roast, the process (a natural or a fermented lot opens up a notch) and the farm altitude read off the label, which says how dense the bean is. And from one bag to the next, the app remembers where your successful cups landed on your grinder, and starts there. The rest window comes from the roaster: when the bag states one, the app reads it at scan time and keeps it for that coffee; nineteen more roasters have a known window. A coffee in the freezer ages sixty times slower instead of stopping: its badge follows its real age. The scan cuts out the bag during the analysis: the card appears with its cutout right away, and a washed-out photo is flagged. Zooming on a bag follows your fingers without jumping. On a coffee page, logging a cup already had lives in the menu, and the rating is given at the bottom of the form, after the parameters. The heading line over the cups to rate on the home screen is gone. Discover: your coffees publish again (a server-side fault had blocked them since late August), the exact rating of an extraction is published without rounding, and the same coffee named with or without its country no longer makes two pages. An incomplete iCloud restore is reported instead of overwriting your backup. ### 1.19.0 — 2026-09-04 The first cup, right away. The welcome flow now has you brew your first cup instead of explaining it: coffee at hand, and the guided extraction starts; a cup already had, and you rate it. On every coffee page, "Log a cup" is now visible, and the rating comes first in the form. Your recipes have a home. Enter your favourite recipes once, a roaster's or your own: Cupsight uses them as a starting point, adapted to each coffee. When the AI does not answer, the app no longer leaves you without a plan: it serves what it already knows, your recipe, your last extraction of this coffee, or its house recipe, as is, and tells you where the numbers come from. Espresso: the plan you followed stays attached to each shot, and what you change yourself, grind or ratio, is respected on the next one. Pre-infusion becomes a lever when your machine allows it. Baskets come in four families: pressurized, basic, precision, high extraction. Gear grows: twenty-five more grinders, espresso machines with a built-in grinder declared in one step, and a grinder the app does not know reports itself to join the catalogue, which now updates without waiting for a new version. ### 1.18.0 — 2026-09-02 Every bag now counts. A repurchased coffee keeps its history: each bag carries its own roast date, recommendations and curve, and the recipe you earned on the last bag is waiting on the new one. The coffee page shows the current bag, and the way back to the ones before. Scanning now reads the back of the bag too, and handles dates better: a roast printed without a year keeps its date, and an unreadable one no longer turns into a guess. Popular coffees in Discover count bags rather than scans: the ranking reflects what people actually buy. Starting a brew got sharper: a menu that stays open while you choose, brewer and recipe in one place. The "Starting point" card of a first recipe has learned silence: it only speaks when a bag is still degassing, to say what the bloom does about it. The rest of the time, the recipe speaks for itself.
