• Pick the karat: 24 (999), 22 (916), 21 (875), 18 (750), 14 (585), 9 (375). 21 karat is the retail standard across North Africa, 18 karat in France.
• Works both ways: what your grams of gold are worth, or how many grams a given amount buys
• Metal value at the mid-market price, before a jeweller's craftsmanship and margin. Troy ounce converted to the gram.
