Updated my iPhone with the latest update, reboot phone, reinstall APP and i still can’t get this to work correctly!! Either it will connect to Bluetooth or not. And when it does connect to the Bluetooth - I still cannot get it to work to control the lights or wave pump. I can change the settings and that’s about it. Called Saltwater Aquarium new owners of current USA and no help there either!! The reason I bought this brand was for the APP. Cant configure anything, even when the app detects the light. Issue started after updating to the latest iOS released yesterday. Your support link is not working. I can sometimes get it to come on as scheduled but never turn off I have to do that manually .. it does not stay connected to blue tooth .. i literally have to reboot my phone every night to get the lights to turn off .. needs to be wifi not blue tooth so you can control it when your not home . Since I have to be home at night to turn it off . Lights change just going back and forth in the app . It would be nice if you could see what setting it’s on when its running . Like how much longer in “ sunset” or it show you have like a storm running . Would be great if you could run the clouds or storms as a programmed sequence rather than needing to do it manually when you want the lights to be more like nature since it never works . Great idea but you guys really missed it in development. Very aggravating trying to turn the lights off at night when it doesn’t connect. Looks like after a year it’s the same issues so you don’t seem to be fixing it . ### 1/5 — Need an update *2023-04-21, version 2.7* After 2 years of working great, i did the latest update on iphone 14 pro to ios 16.4 and now the bluetooth connection is very very poor. I have no control from the app and can only use it manually by pressing button on controller. This app hasnt had an update in 4 years so i think its time!! Update: after no response from the company who took over the products from current usa, i got rid of the light and bought a Fluval Marine light with bluetooth and an app that actually works great.. (connects everytime) the programming is incredible and makes my tank look amazing.. im so disappointed in current usa that they just gave up on their customers.. what a shame ### 1/5 — Total JUNK *2023-04-19, version 2.7* This app is out of date and total waste of time and money! Current products are overpriced paperweights supported but unreliable software that continues to have to be reset just to keep the lights on. The app worked wonderfully for a year. I can’t depend on it now. It fails me at least three times a week. What a bother to have to delete and reinstall it three times a week or more often. The app registers the command but does not respond and would just crash. Only way to get back into it would be to force close and relaunch the app. Please fix and update the app. ### 1/5 — Update *2025-10-09, version 3.2* It would be nice if this was updated. Especially before I bought everything I might have gone a different route since it’s been 2yrs since this is updated. The app lets you set the program for your life but it doesn’t work. I set it to turn off at 8:00PM but when I look at the tank after 8:00PM it’s still on and on day mode. I have tried many different ways but so far the program does not work. So far I have to manually go into the app and turn the light off and on everyday and since it’s only Bluetooth I have to be right there to do it. I need to make changes to my light settings and it’s so annoying I’m really considering switching lights ### 1/5 — Phone cannot connect to controller *2023-05-13, version 3.0* My phone has an extremely hard time connecting to the loop controller via loop app. This started around the time they updated the app. Dropping support for older controllers so we cannot change sunrise/sunset is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend any of their products. Most of my stuff has failed, and the connectivity between app is terrible. I will be ditching the R24 lights soon if this is not fixed. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Disappointed - no sounds, Bluetooth no good *2024-06-12, version 3.2* While I love some of the features, the main thing that made me want to buy 2 lights for my reef tank was the advertised feature of being able to have sound accompany the weather feature. This doesn’t exist. I was told from a representative of Current that the sounds could be played through any Bluetooth device. However, there is zero capability on the app for sound. Also, I bought 2 lights because I was told that having 2 would boost my light to the correct PAR for SPS. My SPS are struggling. As far as the app - it is user friendly and clean but if my phone is upstairs the programming on the lights doesn’t work. The Bluetooth doesn’t turn on until I’m near the lights. That means, all programmed settings are now manual. Unless I leave my phone at home during the day and next to my tank. With a little more work on the app and a little better LED’s this brand of lights could be amazin. ### 5/5 — Back to 5 stars *2023-05-28, version 3.2* Next time, let’s not wait months to fix the issue. Think about rolling back the update next time. ### 5/5 — Love the lights and pump control but.. *2021-04-08, version 2.7* Loop packs a bunch of cool into an affordable package. Love not needing to fiddle with a bunch of timers under my reef. If I could set a daily “feed mode” time it would be great for when I need to use a weekend feeder. Also would love to be able to control a “switch” so I could disable my osmolater ato and the resulting high water alarm when the main pump cycles down. ### 5/5 — Current this is great! *2020-08-26, version 2.7* WOW is all I can say. I love fish tanks, got out of the hobby for a while now back in. Added the LED current light with Bluetooth and loop. Can I tell you that this is the most incredible product I have ever used! I compare it to when I first discovered surround sound or HD TV I am usually an early adopter with technology however, having just relaunched myself back into the aquarium hobby I just discovered this amazing product!!! So fun and I even sleep to the app with storms under one of the moonlight settings. Forget my “calm” app this is ALL I NEED. Love the product app works flawlessly timer works perfect. I rarely review unless I am blown away. Kudos to the team at current for putting together such a well thought out design and making it so easy to use. These guys have delivered yet another fantastic product at a fantastic price. I am running a nano tank (Instagram: hobby_sci) on their products and you cannot beat the price on the quality that they delivered for such a system anywhere! This app does exactly as promised, and anyone who says otherwise probably hasn't figured out how to connect it, which is sad because it is one of the easiest systems to use in the entire aquarium hobby! It’d also be nice to be smart home device compatible like say…. Alexa. My entire aquarium room is linked to my Alexa other than the current and fluval systems because they have apps that don’t link up. Which means I have to use 3 apps to turn on all my lights.
