## What is Custoda?

Custoda is the calm, private way to stop throwing away food, medicine, and money — and to keep an eye on the things at home that expire silently.

Scan a barcode or snap the printed date. Custoda files the item away, learns roughly how long it keeps, and reminds you before it goes off — so the yoghurt at the back of the fridge and the painkillers in the drawer never surprise you again.

• Food & drink — the fridge, freezer and pantry staples you forget about
• Medicine — including the expiry hidden in the 2-D code on the box
• Household & toiletries — cleaning products, toothpaste, the everyday stuff

When you scan, Custoda checks the ingredient list and gives a clear verdict — nothing from your avoid list, a caution when the data is incomplete, or a clear warning to avoid. (Custoda never claims a product is "safe" — always check the packaging.) Allergen warnings are always free, for everyone. They are never behind a paywall.

Start a shared shopping list and everyone in the household adds and ticks off items in real time. Only the grocery list is ever shared — your allergens and diet stay yours alone.

What’s new in 1.0.2

• Our scanner was so eager that one barcode could occasionally become three or four items. It has learned that a barcode is an introduction, not a cloning spell.

• The scanner now takes a proper breather while you review a batch, and tidies up when you leave — fewer camera acrobatics, steadier scans.

• Sunflower oil was briefly promoted to medicine. Its pharmacy career has ended; food items now keep their food identity, even when their barcode brings a lot number to the party.

A small but mighty tune-up:

• We used to think "lactose-free" meant "dairy-free." A cow would like a word — lactose-free milk still has milk in it, so we stopped handing it a dairy-free pass.

• "Fish fingers" kept trying to move into the pantry. We've escorted them back to the fridge, where they belong.

• A few other quiet fixes so your labels get read right the first time.
