## What is Custos?

Custos is a free fragrance collection tracker and wear log for perfume and cologne collectors. Catalog your bottles, decants and testers, log what you wear, and get a daily pick from your own shelf that fits the live weather, the season, and the occasion.

Custos is where you decide what to wear.

Open it in the morning and the answer is already there. Custos reads the live weather, the season, and the occasion on its own, picks from the bottles you actually own, and shows you the reasoning. No forms to fill out, no filters to set.

It doesn't replace the sites where you research and read reviews. It's the layer where you decide what goes on tonight, and it keeps the record of what you wore.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TODAY?
Custos senses the day instead of asking you about it: live weather, season, occasion. Then it picks from your own shelf and tells you why it picked what it picked.

THE COLLECTION AND THE LOG
Track what you own with tiers and stock levels. Log your wears as you go, each one saved with its date and, when Custos has them, the day's weather and the occasion.

ROTATION, DONE PROPERLY
Custos tells you when a bottle has rested long enough to wear again, and when it hasn't. You tune the rest logic yourself. Every wear you log updates the picture of what's rested, what's overdue, and what fits tonight. Custos doesn't guess your rotation; it keeps it.

LAYERING WITH REASONS
Pairs drawn from bottles you already own, each one explained: a simple fragrance completing a complex one, or two scents with enough shared ground to blend and not so much that nothing new happens. A suggestion with an argument behind it.

KNOW YOUR REAL GAPS
No grades. No scores out of 100. Custos names the gaps in your collection as borderline, weak, or true, and explains each one, so the next bottle is different from the last on purpose.

A CATALOG THAT'S RIGHT
Over 2,900 human-reviewed fragrances, alias-resolved and classified by structure, with concentration labels kept verbatim the way the house writes them. Not tens of thousands of scraped rows. If a bottle of yours is missing, add it and wear it tonight. A human reviews it before it joins the shared catalog, and the review never makes you wait.

YOUR COLLECTION IS YOURS
Bulk-import from a spreadsheet with the fill-in template, or add a bottle at a time. Export everything as CSV or JSON whenever you like.

FREE
No subscription, no ads, no affiliate links, no locked features. No streaks, roasts, or judgments. Your collection is nobody's training data, and the Terms of Use say so in plain English.

Whether you keep 4 bottles or 4,000, Custos keeps a collection properly: what you own, what you wore, what deserves a rest, and what to wear today.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.5 — 2026-11-01

Share cards now fit long labels cleanly. Names like “Indonesian Patchouli” no longer run into the edge of their chip.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-10-31

Layering partners and gap suggestions now follow your collection: if you wear only bottles marketed to one gender, those marketed to the other sit behind a Show button.

### 1.0.3 — 2026-10-30

Three new ways to find bottles for your wishlist.

Layering partners: tap the partners button on a bottle in your collection to see the bottles Custos has paired with it that you don’t own yet, each with a confidence level and a note on what the pairing does. Tap + Wishlist to save one.

Bottles that fill a gap: in Coverage gaps, tap a gap such as Fall · warm · Athletic to see the catalog bottles that would fill it, sorted by best fit or by house. Tap + Wishlist to save one.

Candidates by family: in Family concentration, tap a +N to see which of your Candidate bottles would add to that family if you moved them into your rotation.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-26

• The family chart now shows all twelve families. Green and Soft Floral get their own bars instead of being grouped under Other.
• If no bottle is filed under a family but a blend reaches it, the chart shows "0 · 4 via Soft Gourmand" instead of calling it a gap. Tap it to see which bottles.
• Insights: the rotation pace now counts only the bottles in your active rotation, so wearing Sidelined or Gone bottles no longer shortens it or flags regular bottles too early.
• Share cards: a layered card no longer shows a partner's Orpur vetiver or patchouli as an added note beside your own.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-10-16

Share cards: Scent Wrapped can now cover a single month. Cards no longer print a concentration twice when the bottle's name already includes it, and the My Week in Scent card shows its dates again.

Share your week: the button in Insights stays available at the start of a new week and opens on the latest week with enough wears for a card.

Wear log: one "Received compliment" button replaces the Yes and No pair. A wear logged from a suggestion card now records the tier shown on that card, even when you own the bottle in more than one form.

Adding bottles: a quick tap on Tester right after Candidate now registers, and a problem while adding shows inside the add card. A bottle approved for the catalog while you're signed in can be found and added without restarting.

Insights: Worth revisiting counts each bottle from the day it joined your shelf, so a bottle you just added isn't flagged as long unworn.

Settings: a change made with no connection stays on this device and reaches your account the next time Custos opens online. Clearing your home location now clears it on your other devices too.

Exports: JSON and CSV wear-log exports include the time each wear was logged, and importing a JSON export brings the times back.

Setup: if you own a bottle in two forms, each gets its own labeled tier choice, and the Your Week grid can be set with VoiceOver.

Notes: Custos asks before discarding a wear note you haven't saved.

Terms of Use: updated October 14, 2026 (sections 13 and 18). Read them in Settings under Terms of Use.
