Cannot look up or at any book or even review books currently taken out or due. Defaults back to account status several weeks ago and when you try to refresh it just spins and nothing loads. ### 2/5 — Search function seriously broken *2025-02-22, version 2.4.6* I search for two words and get immediate results. I search for three words and the app hangs up forever. Tried again with two words and all is well. Again three words and it hangs. Ugh! ### 2/5 — No night mode *2025-02-18, version 2.4.6* There needs to be a setting or an option to have this switch to night or dark mode. As a reading app, it’s too bright at night and hurts the eyes ### 2/5 — Features don’t work. *2023-09-16, version 2.0.0* Can’t cancel or freeze holds. It keeps giving me errors. Also, when an item is on hold, you can’t see your position in the hold (unlike on the website). ### 2/5 — Bring back the older version for audiobooks *2023-09-14, version 2.0.0* I love the new style of this app, but when I’m listening to the audiobooks, they constantly crash. I can’t listen to a book when I don’t have Wi-Fi either like the old app. Please update it again. I love it and have been using it the past couple of years. I gave it 3 stars because it was recently updated this past week and unfortunately it keeps crashing and freezing, making it frustrating to use. Please fix it. I would love to give it 5 stars. ### 2/5 — Great library but subpar app *2022-01-13, version 1.1.26* I am so grateful for the award winning library we have. It’s amazing. That’s why it’s so disappointing to have an inconsistent app. Use the website for reliable service. I hope one day the app is as stellar as the library. ### 2/5 — Unusable over 5G? *2021-12-20, version 1.1.26* For some reason, the app can run only over a WiFi connection. Using only mobile data seems to prevent most of the content from loading at all, with no error message. (iPhone 8, iOS 15.1, AT&T Mobile) ### 2/5 — Options to sort checked out items *2021-03-07, version 1.1.23* I want the ability to be able to sort my check outs by due date or date checked out. It only sorts them by item type. I don’t care about that & it is not helpful. ### 4/5 — Unable to log in *2020-12-09, version 1.1.22* UPDATE: It appears waiting 3 hours was enough to get this working again. This app worked great until recently. Now whenever I try to log in, I get a pop up stating “sorry something went wrong. Unauthorized.” I’ve restarted my device and deleted the app and reinstalled with no luck. ### 1/5 — Frustrating *2018-06-01, version 1.1.8* I keep using the app and website hoping that it will improve with each update. Unfortunately that is not the case — you need a different interface redesign for the Cuyhanga County Library. Also, when ordering an ebook, it should be easier to choose if you want it on your Kindle or iBook as opposed to using OverDrive. There should be an option of returning an ebook prior to the due date as opposed to just letting it expire on its own. This way you could release the book and someone else could take advantage of reading it. Keep working on it please! ### 1/5 — Horrible app *2018-04-07, version 1.1.6* Barely searches correctly. Example: VERY frequently, I search for a book or author and it comes up as no options, but then I go to the library and use the computers there and find options for the same things I search. Absolutely frustrating. Why have an app if it doesn’t work? And when I reserve an electronic book, it says I can access it, but it completely crashes and never loads. ### 3/5 — Can’t access *2018-02-12, version 1.1.6* Same as immediately above. Library card is valid but can’t get in. Normally everything is fine. After three minutes it was still searching for “Harry Potter”. At the most basic, a library app should find books. I use their web version instead. ### 1/5 — Slow or unresponsive *2025-08-02, version 2.4.6* Often, too often, slow or unresponsive. Why?? ### 1/5 — Needs work *2025-06-15, version 2.4.6* This app does not work. It constantly freezes, you cannot see your books and cannot take any action with them (renew, place a hold, etc.). The only thing I can do without trouble is scan my library card at a branch. ### 1/5 — Can’t see classes *2025-01-28, version 2.4.5* When I first downloaded this app it worked spectacularly. I could easily search and register for or reserve classes, books, resources, you name it. Now the only screen that comes up is the home page while none of the links on it are able to load. I use it constantly to order and renew books; however, it freezes very often. I am constantly deleting the app and reinstalling it so I can use it again. I wish someone could up their tech game on this app. ### 1/5 — Buggy currently *2022-10-10, version 1.34.0* I’ve had this app for a while now and it’s long been a bit hiccupy but I can usually browse, check out a book, and get reading without too much fuss. Unfortunately though, at the moment it’s totally unusable for me. Shortly after it launches it throws an error that reads “Sierra Request Error: cURL error (400) - Unknown error” and I cannot do anything in it. ### 1/5 — App often does not work *2020-06-10, version 1.1.16* On the rare occasions when the app works it is great but that is not very often at all. I thought it was suppose to be available 24/7. I find it very difficult to find a way to get in to read my e books. Please do something to make this better. Thank you. I would rate it a zero star if I could. disappointed. :/ ### 1/5 — Account info doesn’t save *2018-07-24, version 1.1.8* Why? Why do I have to enter my account name *and* password??? At least save the account name. And the app searches often return zero results even when the library web site returns actual materials. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Works great! *2025-03-28, version 2.4.6* All these old reviews from years ago all the stuff has been since fixed and it works so much better the last couple years! I didn't even know there was an app for here until last year (2024) and it's been so convenient to be able to renew stuff when I am not able to physically get to the library due to weather and/or other personal factors! It's easy to look things up and place them on hold to my library of they are not at my local one and elsewhere in the system! It's nice that you can see what you check out and can even check things out right from the app and not even have to go to the kiosks! Yes it will have days where it is down for maintenance but that's normal for technology! Gotta keep the app safe and secure and running properly and sometimes programs need tweaking so have faith in their IT department and be patient when that arises. ### 5/5 — Great ! *2021-09-22, version 1.1.24* Love that o have access to placing holds on my phone - very convenient app. Wish Lorain county had the same technological advancements ### 5/5 — Some of these Reviews Needs Updated! *2019-06-05, version 1.1.14* Just downloaded This week, and my iPhone is up to date IOS whatever, and this app runs prefectly, I only use the application for searches of titles of books, saves me time typing and searching through the search engine of Google to find complex online website. This app is awesome! Who knew a local library would have an app that works, especially with limited downloads and reviews! Any way the books that were available on ‘Check Shelf’ were available when available and due when they said they were due. Awesome little time efficient app! :) ### 5/5 — Works fine now *2018-11-11, version 1.1.10* I had no issues with the app so far. I am running an iPhone iOS 12.1. I haven’t tried everything on it but so far it all looks good. It shows the books I have out. I registered for an event (I will double check that - always a good idea). ### 5/5 — Terrible app--update *2017-03-21, version 1.1.0* 3/21/17 Still glitches with renewing-- this time I renewed two of 4 books, and it renewed a different one twice. And no support for renewing the SO book, so I had to go to the website again. As someone else stated, not all titles show up through the app, which led me to believe the library hadn't ordered it yet when in fact it is available on the regular catalog. There was a glitch when I tried to renew a Search Ohio book-- it renewed the CCPL book I had checked out, but not the SO title I had tried to renew. ### 5/5 — Great app! *2016-09-19, version 1.0.6* This app makes it so easy to access all my library info! Offers lots more options than the old app. For a frequent and intensive library user it seems an excellent choice. Since so many events are full within minutes of registration opening, I have to make a calendar event to remind me to register as soon as it opens.
