She's now much older than the typical emerging reader and doesn't want to play on "baby" apps for little kids. It's a daily struggle to get her to practice phonics. Enter the CVC app. She loves this one and asks to use it, which is remarkable with her. Specifically, she likes typing in the words that come up and the matching exercise. I think typing makes her feel more grown-up. There are many ways to practice, though, and an extensive list of word families. It's a perfect complement to Explode the Code and our readers. It is not often, but sometimes kids have vowel errors and this is a great bank of words to practice for them. Even though it's not designed for this it works great!
