## What is CycleMaps?

BICYCLE ROUTES
CycleMaps plans routes using data from multiple sources and prioritises cycle paths and quiet streets — everywhere. See your route’s elevation profile before you ride.

TURN‑BY‑TURN INSTRUCTIONS
Clear, glanceable guidance shows your next turn, street name, and distance — without getting in the way of the map.

GARMIN VARIA
Pair your Garmin Varia rear radar to see vehicles approaching from behind — direction and proximity shown both on the map as a lane overlay and in the cycling computer. Live alerts on iPhone and Apple Watch.

FREECYCLE
Track an unplanned ride and save it as a workout in Apple Health.

OFFLINE MAPS
Download maps to use later without data.

APPLE WATCH
Cutting‑edge routing and navigation on your wrist. Cycling computer with speed, distance, time, heart rate and a live elevation chart. Garmin Varia alerts. Use haptics for guidance and save rides as workouts. Works independently of iPhone.

HANDOFF
Start navigating on iPhone and pick up on Apple Watch — or the other way around. Hand off your map position or continue reviewing past rides on any nearby Apple device.

LIVE ACTIVITY
See your speed, distance and next turn right on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island — no need to unlock your phone mid-ride.

BE HEALTHY
Track distance and calories burned with CycleMaps and Apple Health.

ONE APP, ALL COUNTRIES
No need to download different apps for different places. CycleMaps includes routes and maps worldwide in one download.

COMPLEX ROUTES
Plan routes with any number of waypoints — not just point‑to‑point.

GPX & KML SUPPORT
Import routes from your club or any source — turn cues included, on iPhone and Apple Watch. Export your rides as GPX.

SEE CYCLE PATHS AROUND YOU — OR USE APPLE MAPS OR GOOGLE MAPS
Choose Apple Maps, Google Maps, or OpenCycleMap overlays that highlight cycle paths. Riding becomes easy.

FAVOURITE ROUTES
Save your favourite routes. Create an account and sync across all your devices.

CYCLE COMPUTER
Mount your iPhone — or glance at your Apple Watch — for speed, distance cycled, distance remaining, elapsed time, heart rate, gradient, total ascent and ETA. A live elevation chart highlights your position along the route and alerts you when a climb is coming.

AMAZING SEARCH
Find addresses, postcodes, landmarks, businesses and more. Want the nearest café? Just search for café.

RIDE HOME
Set your home and get there quickly — even faster with quick actions.

BATTERY LIFE
CycleMaps is highly efficient, responsive, and designed to minimise battery drain while cycling.

NEVER LOSE A RIDE
Your ride is continuously checkpointed. If your phone or watch dies mid‑ride, CycleMaps recovers the ride and your workout is saved.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2026-07-19*

I use this app for cycling around London, and I would literally be lost without it.

I find that the options provided are different to other apps, using routes that are more direct.

Also I’ve found so many short cuts by using this app that I would have never thought of before.

On the whole really good for cyclists, keep up the good work!!

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for the kind words!

### 5/5 — Quick response to a problem

*2026-07-07*

I was unable to log in for some reason - sent an email asking for a quick response and within an hour my issue was sorted! If only all ‘apps’ and businesses provided that sort of service and showed they valued customers. THANK YOU CycleMaps!

**Developer response:** Glad to have been of help - we hope you enjoy your cycling!

### 4/5 — So far so good

### 5/5 — Fabulous app

*2026-06-26*

Really easy to use and has many useful features. I mainly use it in London and it keeps surprising me with new cycle routes. I like the 3 modes - Direct, quiet and balanced.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the lovely words!

### 5/5 — Good to Go!

*2026-06-25*

I use the app all the time. I trust it to get me from A-B along safer routes. Now all I have to work out is finding a place to secure my bike when I arrive at my destination and how to mitigate against stupid pedestrians…

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind review! Enjoy your cycling.

### 5/5 — Reliable Navigation for Cycling

*2026-06-22*

Hiya! Latest update 22 June 2026 😃

The app improved a lot; a long-awaited feature became available with the latest release. The pan function, whilst approaching a crossing or other areas, allows for easy navigation through London’s traffic jungle.

———-

I have been using Google Maps for all my cycling and have got tired of misrouted or inconvenient navigation.

After a couple of trips with this app now, I’m more than happy to explore unfamiliar yet safe terrain in London. It's really fun to pass through parks and quiet side streets, detached from the traffic.

I will give 5 stars once a female voice navigation will be made available ;)

Update:

My feedback given to the developers is acknowledged, a night-day mode feature will coming soon :)

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for your review and enjoy your cycling!

### 5/5 — Love CycleMaps. Works all over the world

*2026-06-11*

Been using this app on a weekly if not daily basis fir over 5 years. This trip cycling in Italy and France.
Highly recommend

**Developer response:** Your trips sound very exciting! Thank you for the support and the kind words and we hope you enjoy your cycling.

### 5/5 — Best cycling app in the App Store

*2026-05-08*

I’ve used many cycling apps but this is the best. Lots of cool features.
