### 5/5 — Fantastic app

*2019-09-23, version 1.0*

Truly a one of a kind sequencer on iOS. Been waiting a long time for something like this.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Should/Will be 5 stars when critical bug is quashed

*2024-02-02*

For some reason, the section of the settings menu that controls input method (arp, chord) and midi channel don’t remember settings.

Open plugin, set output channel to 3. Close plugin. Open plugin and channel is back to 1. 😠

This is a critical error/bug if you can’t route multiple instances.

Fix this and it’s a 10 star app.

### 2/5 — crashes when hitting “settings”

*2024-10-04*

The app looks nice, but can’t give it a 5-star until the bugs are fixed. Right now, every time I select “Settings” from the side menu the app crashes.

### 2/5 — Want to love, but

*2023-10-06*

This app does what no other app does, but in its current version it is unusable.

In stand alone mode it cannot connect to any other app. As soon as you open another app the play head will no longer move. It also won’t see any other app as a MIDI destination. I have yet be be able to get it to play a synth and I have tried a few. This leaves AUM.

Inside AUM, it does work until you turn on Ableton link. After that, Cykle never knows where the start of the bar is and will start at an interval based on the play head position rather then at the next bar. Because Cycle has know idea where the start is, it never plays at the right time.

This means that the only way cycle is usable is inside a host with Ableton link turned off. But if you want to us another app that requires Ableton link, you are out of luck.

**Developer response:** I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing problems with cykle. other MIDI enabled apps should show up in the channel menu under output destination. you might need to reopen the menu to see all active apps.

in AUM you can reset the sequencer by tapping the rewind button, cykle will then sync to the start of the bar. if your problems persist, please send me an email via the app, and I can help diagnose.

### 4/5 — Cool app but

*2022-06-04, version 1.4.1*

This is a really great start with two caveats: first, it does not appear to have a slave mode to a daw (other than ableton link) this may be a limitation of the iPad and not the developer, not sure. Second, for editing lanes like velocity, I have to tap each step to set the value. It needs to support catching the values with a finger drag.

### 4/5 — bester Step-Sequencer - nur wenig fehlt!

*2021-01-19*

### 4/5 — pretty good start

*2020-12-01*

But please include the ability to have rests and chromatic and many other scales. Poly chord arp, imaginando, and riffer have great examples of scale ideas. Thanks

**Developer response:** thanks for your review! you can add rests with the ‘rest’ sequence. I’ll look into adding more scales.

edit: the latest update (1.4) adds chromatic and pentatonic scales.

### 4/5 — Really good...

*2020-06-04, version 1.3.1*

I really like this app. It’s very simple to use but very capable of complex and interesting results. I really wish I could have lengths greater than 1, that would make it my go-to jam sequencer.

### 5/5 — It’s good

*2024-09-14, version 1.5.1*

Using this is very easy. It’s cool how I get to make an instrument in Drambo and soon it’s playing the sequence

### 5/5 — Endless fun

*2024-04-30*

I’m amazed how much this little sequencer can add to a track. Well thought out and easy to use. I just hope this app lasts well into the future with updates.

**Developer response:** thanks for the kind words. new update coming soon!

### 5/5 — One of the best Berlin School sequencers

*2022-08-10, version 1.4.1*

This is one of the best sequencers for Berlin School. Great for evolving patterns and semi generative sequences.
Having said that, I would like to request two fixes/features:
- rewinding the transport in AUM does not reset all sequencer lanes in all presets. I would expect all of them rewound to step 1, but I notice that sequences often still start where they stopped.
- please provide an option to disable cykle fitting each note received via MIDI input into one octave. This would make the plugin a great MIDI effect.

### 5/5 — New favorite sequencer

*2022-03-08*

Love this app, it was just the sort of sequencer I was looking for! Very fun to use, makes it easy to create non-repeating patterns yet with control over the overall mood. The recent update is awesome, thanks for that! Great work.

### 5/5 — Great Sequenzer with some issues

*2020-09-13*

functionality and layout of the sequencer is really great. It is nice to work with it.
Unfortunately, ableton link is not in sync with my DAW. And the Swing is always changing back to 0, automatically.

**Developer response:** hi, the swing issue has been fixed in the latest update (1.3.3). as for the sync issue, have you tried changing the timing offset (settings > midi > timing offset)?

### 5/5 — genial ! bester step sequencer den ich kenne

*2020-08-23*

perfekt !

### 5/5 — Essential midi tool!

*2020-08-21*

Does what it says, rock solid, reliable, lightweight: Burner! 🔥

### 5/5 — Mighty oaks from tiny acorns grow

*2020-05-02, version 1.3.1*

This has become my go to sequencer for operating inside AUM, because the genius idea of separating pitch, gate, pattern length etcetera from each other means that you can create surprisingly complex, musical, evolving sequences or polyrhythmic patterns from tiny seeds of a handful of notes.

The inclusion of scales means even musical klutzes like me can achieve pleasing results, and the dev has worked hard adding extra ‘lanes’ and capability to the app since it’s release.

It really is fantastic, and unlike some other sequencer apps, easy to get your head round, way easy to use, but great at creating something other than motorik rigid patterns.

The only thing that would make this perfect would be a programmable ‘song’ or clip player mode that would let you cue up a whole series of the existing ‘snapshots’ to play in sequence, randomly, or in other ways, in the style of some of the Bram Bos sequencers. Here’s hoping, but in the meantime: excellent! :)

### 5/5 — amazing flexible yet simple sequencer

*2020-01-01*

You need a midi sound source in conjunction to use this.
I have nearly all midisequencers on iOS but this one seems to be the only one that lets you have a seperate lane for velocity (and other parameters) that can have its own lane length.
This allows for easy evolving midi patterns.
And all this while keeping the interface simple.
