## What is D&D Spellbook 5e?

This app provides a lightweight, convenient, and ad-free way to manage your Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition spellbook and determine relevant spell properties while playing. Separate lists of favorite, known, and prepared spells can each be kept for multiple characters. No network connection is required.

Spells can be searched by name for quick access. You can also sort and filter the spells by a variety of options. Sorting is two-level, with the option to set each level to ascending/descending. Sortable fields include:
-Name
-School
-Level
-Range
-Duration
-Casting Time

Spells can be filtered by any combination of the following:
-Level
-Sourcebook
-School
-Casting Time
-Duration
-Range
-Concentration
-Ritual

All of the necessary information about spellcasting, both general and class-specific, can be accessed via the info button in the top right.

-Pull down to refresh current spell list, if necessary
-Long press on a star button to unselect all other options of the same type

I love this app! It has a lot of features and constantly being updated.
I have only 1 issue with it and it does require me to only give 4 stars. Now i do not know if i am doing something wrong or not but…some of the spells that have a very large description (like the wish spell) i cannot scroll down to read the rest of the spell!! The app stops scrolling and it cuts off parts of the description. I have other resources to look up the spell sure but it sure would be nice to only need this app for all my spell description and casting needs 😁

I absolutely love this app, mostly because it has all spells from all source material, not just the PHBs. My only issue is I have it on iPhone, which means no custom spells, and many of the spells with longer text are glitchy, not allowing you to scroll far enough to see all the content. My partner has the android version on his phone so I can see how great the app is meant to be in it’s full form, just hope the iOS version gets the same treatment at some point!

Does not update as often on apple as it does on android. Apple is on 3.9.0 and android is at 4.4.8 its some bulls*#t but he app is amazing just wish it was equally update

Really handy and useful app, either for a quick reference or for building character spell lists. Only feature I feel it still lacks is a sort by damage type option, otherwise it seems to have everything you could want.

Very useful and I would give this app 5 stars except for the Spell Slots bug. More than half the time I navigate to Spell Slots I get stuck on that screen and can’t exit —all options for settings, edit, reset, and go back disappear. I have to kill the app and relaunch to get back to any other screen.

The spellbook has been updated with the ability to rename an existing character. Additionally, the options for renaming a character, deleting a character, and copying a character's JSON have been moved to the context menu for the character selection cell. Additionally, a bug has been fixed which could cause the navigation bar to be hidden in the spell slots controller.

The spellbook has been updated with the ability to export a spell list to an external file. Lists can be exported with all of the information for each spell, or in an abbreviated format (like the app's spell table). Available export formats are PDF, Markdown, and HTML.

The spellbook has been updated to include Water Breathing from the 2024 PHB, which was previously missing. Additionally, an issue with the description of Water Walk has been fixed.
