Are y’all ever gonna update it for full resolution on iPhone X and higher devices? ### 4/5 — Works with iPhone X *2018-03-13, version 1.5.3* I used this with my iPhone 4 on a Sony radio. Recently purchased the lightning adapter (only works with official oem Apple adapter) and it works perfectly with my iPhone X. My only complaint is I’d like to program each day of the week for waking up to a different song each morning and it only lets me select weekly. Needs an update as I don’t want to wake up to the same song every morning. ### 3/5 — Not much to it *2018-01-16, version 1.5.3* Basically, the purpose of this app is to sync the time to your Sony iPhone/iPad/iPod sound dock. It does what it needs to do, and nothing more. I grew concerned that they wouldn't update the app to work with iOS 10, as it had gone for 4 years without any updates. Now, not so much... *2015-10-08, version 1.4.0* This app has worked well through all the updates and iPhones since getting my Sony clock radio when I had a iPhone 4. I am now having problems with iOS9. When I dock the alarm settings don't display anymore so I have to adjust the alarm on the radio which takes me back to an interface developed in the 70's. Seems like Sony could keep a current app that would work with all their products. Can't imagine it would take much resources to do. As FYI; I've deleted and reinstalled several times - once in a while it would work for a couple days. ### 2/5 — iOS update issues *2015-09-29, version 1.4.0* Since the latest iOS updates came out, the app's performance has been spotty in a way it never was before the updates. I used the Apple 30 pin to FireWire adapter and it worked fine. Then I upgraded to iOS 8.4 and it no longer synced. After reinstalling it, it works. There should be an update. ### 3/5 — I'm your customer service *2014-11-10, version 1.4.0* I wrote a previous review that when I upgraded to the iPhone 6 and IO8, the app would crash when opened. Of course there's nothing by Sony offering anything in the way of customer support so I was ready to just forget it. Then I though just for the hell of it to remove it from my device and then reinstall it. Since doing that, it's been working fine. The app was successful in syncing the phone to the clock radio, and with the iPhone bigger screen, the clock display looks great. The alarm works as advertised too. It's low on frills but it does what it says it's supposed to do. People should read the specifications carefully though. I can't be sure that putting an adapter to connect the clock radio to a non-lightning iPhone will work. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No Longer Works *2017-08-10, version 1.4.0* I had this alarm clock for not even a year before the app stopped working. They stopped updating it and now my phone doesn't charge or play music when plugged into the port. I had to delete the app because it was in fact slowing my phone down. ### 1/5 — Orphaned App *2017-07-07, version 1.4.0* It's a shame that a company like Sony, once a leader in Consumer Electronics has let this app go into oblivion. My iPhone 6+ will not play upon insetting into the adapter then insetting into the deck. After pressing on/off, audio in, mode, iPod&iPhone, OFF in some random order, then stopping and restarting my phone maybe I'll get some music. If the app were updated to iOS 10.3 I doubt I'd be having this issue. It's shame seeing apps left by the wayside, no longer supported due to other profitable projects within a company. And no I will not be buying a 4K Sony DSLR, nor will I buy a Sony OLED TV. There are better products for less money available. The savvy Consumer has spoken with his checkbook once again! ### 1/5 — App Update needed!! *2017-02-14, version 1.4.0* The dream machine worked great.. but the past week for some odd reason my alarm isn't working right, the machine itself is saying my alarm is going off.. but no sound!! But can play my music on the thing and it's fine! It keeps telling me it needs an update on the app. Maybe that's what is wrong!? I was disappointed when my iPhone 6 said that this device was no longer supported after I updated to iOS 9. I have waited and waited to get an update to allow me to use this, I have cleaned all connectors. My docking station is now just a super big and expensive phone charger. Please please fix this. ### 1/5 — IOS 9 - Dream (Nightmare) Machine and iPhone 4S *2015-11-18, version 1.4.0* Since updating to IOS 9 (now 9.1 as I write) the wonderful features of this app (auto Time sync, set alarms, tune stations etc) are no longer working. So the journey began, contacted Sony Technical Support - their suggestions: try cleaning terminals, try resetting both phone and dock, still no luck - "This accessory is not supported on your iPhone”. Sony Tech Support final advice - call Apple, they made the change on their side. So, as futile as you would assume it was going to be, I contact Apple Support. Again, similar rhetoric, we don’t support 3rd Party Applications or devices - best bet is to contact Sony and request an app update. So, contacted Sony support again, spoke to an agent who explains they have no way to contact Sony Engineering, best advice, put something on the Customer forums and hope the community can advise a fix. I now have a very expensive cook radio next to my bed that is unable to sync, play music or program from my phone - hence the 1 star. If there was a lower rating I would give it - very poor support from, what I thought, a reputable company with quality products! ### 1/5 — They have not updated this software for IOS 8 *2015-04-24, version 1.4.0* If you purchased a Sony IPhone/IPad docking product and they require you to use this d-sappli app to make it work correctly (for sounding alarms, etc.), return the product because this software doesn’t work with IOS 8. It effectively bricks the Sony docking station for any IOS 8 device alarm clock functionality. Bluetooth and Playing music while docked still works, but you will not be able to use any alarm clock. Repeated emails to Sony have been ineffective. Better to buy the iHome products - at least they work. ### 1/5 — Ugh *2014-12-04, version 1.4.0* I've tried this app in conjunction with my phone and the docking station. I'm trying very hard to put into words my feelings on this app that will effectively convey my feelings and will get this review past Apple's censors. Here it is: run away screaming from this app. It serves no purpose. If you have it running while docked, it limits the volume on the dock. Also, it negates the equalizer in iOS so everything sounds like it's coming out of a tin can. ### 1/5 — Shame on you Sony *2014-10-23, version 1.4.0* This app doesn't even deserve the time to write review for it. Total abandonment from Sony. No updates, no customer support, nothing. When you buy a new dab fm dock you expect it to work with the app provided. I can't change the names of the stations. The app is extremely buggy and ugly. Sony sent me email to leave review about the product. I left one and few days later they told me the review won't be published, because it describes customer service. And they don't want this… ### 1/5 — iOS 8 renders app useless. This accessory may not be supported *2014-09-20, version 1.4.0* All text fields are stuck empty with frozen screens. This is the error I get when docking. This accessory may not be supported. Also the iPhone playback will only play the last song listened to at the previous volume. So there is no reliability at all. Alarms are supposed to be reliable. What's the point in using an app that doesn't work? just like Sony to sell a well marketed alarm clock with no functionality support. I should have known better. Sony = unreliable. ### 1/5 — Unable to charge my Apple 5 phone *2014-08-04, version 1.4.0* I have a apple 5 iPhone w/ the lightening connection. My phone does not charge when is docked on my sony clock radio ICF-CS151iPN) . My alarm works, but when I wake in the morning my phone has not charged. My phone will charge on other docking stations. Will someone at sony please update is app! It has been over a year since the last update. I will buy a Sony product like this again. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Well worth the price *2020-11-27, version 1.5.3* But seriously, it’s nice to have a sweep second hand, in Classic Black the battery doesn’t take a hit. Enough of the features work with the un-listed Sony earbuds I use, like timers, etc. But what I really like is that when the clock is on display the phone doesn’t lock. That can be handy. It temporarily overrides the settings time-out. Once you switch apps, your auto-lock setting kicks back in. But like I indicated, in Classic Black it can be left on top all night and in the morning the battery hasn’t really lost percentage. ### 5/5 — It works again! *2017-10-16, version 1.5.2* I have a RDP-XA700IPN and an iPhone 8 so I am very very happy to see this app get updated and working again. I have it installed on two iPhones and am iPad. ### 5/5 — Does what it’s supposed to do *2014-12-28, version 1.4.0* I don’t understand the low ratings and complaints, this is just a complimentary app that Sony made for the iPhone and the ICF-CS15iPN to communicate with each other, (works great on my iPhone 6) no it doesn’t have a ton of bells and whistles, what do you want it to do? play movies and balance your checkbook? It’s fine for what it does. I do wish the app were easier to find and had a name that made a little more sense but that’s splitting hairs. ### 5/5 — Lightning connector version works with iPhone 5 *2014-07-30, version 1.4.0* I'm sorry that others have had trouble with the 30-pin version of the ICF-CS15iPN. I do not doubt their experiences trying to work through the 30-pin-to-Lightning adapter. I know it has some limitations and have experienced them myself in other situations. My experience with the D-Sappli app has been positive. When I placed my iPhone 5 on the dock, it displayed a message that I needed the D-Sappli app and offered to take me to the iTunes Store. I consented, and was, understandably, distressed to see the low ratings on the app. I downloaded it anyway and was pleasantly surprised. It asked if I wanted to sync the dock's time with my iPhone's and after I agreed, it did so flawlessly. Then I set the dock's 2 alarms using the app and tapped "send"—and they both updated on the dock. So far everything seems to work as intended.
