Why on earth would they find it so hard to properly program IOS software and develop actual instructions for a better customer experience? This software does not do this product justice, and the poor execution of programming it and explaining it to Dinan customers would make most people think twice about purchasing this product over a similar tuner. The product seems to work well on my 228i. I just can’t always tell you why I select the functions I do, or why it sometimes allows me to change things, and other times I have to restart the software. The only plus is that once a mode is selected, it does not change on the tuner until another is accepted. ### 1/5 — Cannot connect D-Sport *2021-06-06, version 1.6* Tried with latest iOS 14.6 but unsuccessful in scanning and connecting the Dinan Sport module. Tried multiple iPhones with no luck. ### 1/5 — App Can’t find Bluetooth *2021-05-25, version 1.6* App no longer works with newest update. It doesn’t find my sport module via Bluetooth. Now that APR and Dinan are working together I was hoping for a better app for the sport tuner N20 motor. I question if the vehicle is actually faster or not. App Alone makes me think about giving bootmod3 a try. Forget about seeing boost levels. Forget about easily changing between modes. I was pretty surprised really. I heard the original release was bad, this hasn’t gotten any better. Now I see why the dealer who installed Dinan on my car was not very encouraging when I asked about the app. I hope the Dinan installed on my car is better than the app. The app gives instructions on pairing etc and nothing works and it shuts down completely. Hard to believe that such an outstanding product I’ve heard raves about is associated with a useless app. I would have given zero stars for the app but I’m forced to give one. Awful UI, no boost gauge, no features from any of the most recent 5 iOS updates, etc. Siri functionality would be cool, especially for cars with CarPlay as the settings could be adjusted without opening the app. The money made off of my purchase alone could pay for someone to completely overhaul the app. At the very least make the application’s source code available to the public so we can make our own custom apps to control the tuner/display boost. 3 stars because it does do what it claims it does, I just think there is significant room for growth and improvement. ### 1/5 — They ruined it *2019-01-03, version 1.4* Same as what everyone else is saying. As I read reviews on multiple distributors websites and forums, this app is in disparate need of an update for several years now! It takes away from the full experience of the unit. For most, they have bluetooth connection issues like myself on current ios and android devices. Where I come from that’s called not getting everything you paid for! Very disappointing Dinan, we as consumers expect more from a company of your magnitude and longevity to just turn away and ignore this and do nothing. I’ve emailed dinan several times and to my not so shocked state…. No reply . App doesn't even recognize the tuner and support basically said your iPhone might not be compatible. Thanks. ### 1/5 — Changes Tune on its own! FIX THIS!!!!!!!!! *2022-06-07, version 1.8* The application changes tunes on its own to Valet mode. The application does not let the driver know what tune they are in. Dinan does not seem to care what the application does as long as they sell products to the customers. As long as they fleece the customers. I will be reaching out to the AG office to report the company for selling worthless products. I have filed a BBB complaint as well. Dinan needs to know if they sell products to customers they must sell products that actually work or they will be reported. ### 1/5 — Stopped working *2022-01-15, version 1.8* Haven’t used the app in a while. Launched it the other day to check if boost level is still where I left it last and discovered the app doesn’t work anymore. iOS 15.2. All I see is a blank screen showing “count: 0” and toggle between “scan” and “stop”. ### 1/5 — Buggy app - won’t connect and then crashes *2021-08-15, version 1.7* This app used to work fine about a year or so ago. Then they updated it and it’s pretty much useless now. Won’t connect to the unit and crashes almost every time. Basically the Dinantronics unit is now useless because it can’t be activated (last time I used the app successfully was before lending my car so I had bypassed it). Can’t adjust settings. What a waste of money. ### 1/5 — The app is garbage *2021-06-15, version 1.6* Dinan with no doubt lives out to its name, and the tunes are great, but the App is horrible, super buggy and constantly disconnects from the tune device, and it starts messing up with you want the change the different modes you want to use the tune on, also does not let you chose a mode while you want see the psi gauge for your turbos. I’ve been asked if this will do fuel mapping and stage two mods. No, it doesn’t replace a $2k programmable ecu with wideband. It does allow you to have fun adding a bit more kick to your bmw. It’s a simple way to get a few extra horsepower and changing the map is very easy I don’t really have any complaints. Love it.. easy to install takes 3 seconds . Phone didn't pair at first because I downloaded the wrong app, but as soon as I got the right one downloaded it booted right up. I keep it on sport plus +3.0 boost. I can feel the extra power on demand when I need it.
