## What is Daahqaad?

Daahqaad is a calm home for Somali writers and readers.

Most apps are built to keep you scrolling. Daahqaad is built to respect your time. There are no reels, no autoplay, and no endless feed. You come to read or to talk, then you get on with your life.

Read in peace
Stories and essays from writers worth following, laid out to be read properly. Your feed is simply the people you choose to follow. No algorithm decides what you see.

Write and be read
Publish your own stories and notes. Follow other writers, respond to their work, and build a small, real audience.

Live podcasts
Host or join live audio rooms. Raise your hand to speak, or just listen in. Hosts can approve speakers and keep the room safe by muting, removing, or blocking anyone. Sessions can be recorded and shared later.

Made for Somali writing
Daahqaad is built for the Somali language and the people who love it, with an interface in both Somali and English.

daah-qaad is Somali for "lift the veil." We built the quiet place we were looking for. A home for reading, writing, and real conversation. Nothing else.
