The extensive Shortcuts integration and URL schemes easily replace the need for it lacking bank sync, and way out-perform the common syncing failures and delays by relying instead on reliable text and email alerts. I especially love the way multiple ledgers can live together in any and all accounts, perfect if you occasionally (or more often) use your personal account for business. (This is a major hurdle in pretty much all the other budgeting apps out there—tags can be a work-around, but that means you have to use them religiously or the system breaks.) This really is a 5-star app, but, after over a month's use, I have a few problems: 1. The URL schemes don't allow spaces (the typical %20 doesn't work—I've overcome this by removing all spaces from my account names, tags, ledgers, and categories, which led me to discover the second issue I have...), 2. adding or editing categories, accounts, tags, or ledgers requires reworking all Shortcuts, and 3. after a month of repeatedly trying to reach them about these issues, I haven't heard a thing back from the developers (maybe this will do the job). If these get fixed (especially number 1), you've got a 5-star app here. ### 3/5 — I like it, but *2026-03-31, version 15.6.3* I like the app. It is very user friendly and kind of helped me save some unnecessary expenses. But, When I purchased the app, I remember it didn’t collect any data. Now it starts to collect some data. It becomes a concern to me. ### 4/5 — Excellent app! *2025-12-05* I love Daak and the cute UI. Appreciate the reasonable lifetime purchase option too. It has a ton of customization to tune the UI to my liking and disable the features I don’t need. There is a bit of learning curve imo to fine-tuning the UI though since there’s so many features, so it will help to improve the settings page to make it easier to understand. I also have some small issues with Daak: 1. I imported a CSV from my previous expense manager and Daak messed up wherever there were commas in the Remarks. It interpreted them as new currencies. Also the import page can be made more accessible. I had to figure out the expected CSV format on my own and it took several attempts to get it right. 2. I always add a remark to my transactions. Daak only has a tiny bar for that which is a bit too tiny. On the other hand, there’s a big box to add an image which I will never use and can’t seem to remove. It will be great to be able to customize this page. 3. When I move money around between accounts, the app adds this to my monthly income and inflow on the home page and to the calendar view (even when I excluded those accounts from asset statistics). 4. The assets page is not useful to me and I couldn’t find a way to remove it from the UI. 5. I couldn’t figure out if the app does an iOS backup periodically automatically or not. Also I need my old phone to recover data from the iOS backup? What if I lose my phone? 6. When writing remarks, it doesn’t suggest previous remarks starting with the same letters. It’s a hassle to filter by remarks when there are a dozen variations of the same thing, and auto-suggestions would avoid that. ### 3/5 — Useful but no use friendly *2025-11-22, version 15.0.6* This app is good but it takes a lot of time and effort to learn the mechanics of using it, it definitely is not user friendly which turns off beginners. ### 3/5 — Good, but could be better *2025-09-28, version 15.0.5* There is a budget section for transfers and repayments, but when I register one of those transactions, it doesn't record on the budget. There's no reporting export, you can check the analysis but can't export it as a PFF or anything, you can only export bills filtered by date or ledger, not categories or accounts. I keep using it because it allows me to see the credit card per period. ### 5/5 — Simple and detailed at the same time!! *2025-09-15, version 13.3.7* This app gives me exactly what I need -- show me how much money I have left in my budget of the month and give me that information in a widget. Sounds simple but not a single budget app I have tried thus far meet both of these criteria. Daak not only does that but also goes above and beyond! There's no limits to categories and subcategories, which means you can put your expenses into the smallest most obscure category possible, and Daak still got your back. There are no ads even in the Free version. I was so impressed and bought the Premium version, which is available as a one time purchase instead of outrageous monthly subscriptions that break your bank like other high profile budget apps. The premium version allows more customization: more emoji, background and keyboard customization, which makes it so cute and fun to use the app and record my expenses!! The UI was a little confusing at the beginning and it may have taken me longer to get around compared to other apps, but it is 100% possible to learn the mechanics and start customizing the app to your needs! Cannot recommend this enough. I’ve been looking for a simple money tracking app for a while now. All the other apps have you connect your bank account and credit/debit cards. They track everything automatically (but not correctly) and they’re so difficult to use. But this app doesn’t! It’s simple, yet it allows you to do so much. I can separate everything by categories and I can keep track of income and expenses, set a budget, keep track of any ongoing financial goals and much much more! I recommend this app to anyone to wants to keep track of their expenses. However, I also knew I needed a budgeting app that was good-looking to motivate me to use it. I tried all sorts of budgeting apps and they were either boring looking or didn’t have all the features I needed. However, this one has everything! You can basically customize everything in Daak, including the icons, buttons, colors, and even the background. So if you don’t like the boring white minimalist look, you can upload your own image and icons! You can also customize what buttons are on the homescreen (sort of like a taskbar) and toggle what different things are shown. One unique option I especially like is the ability to show an entry's note first instead of its category. This in-depth UI does take a bit to get used to, but you just have to work with it and you’ll figure it out. There is a tutorial in settings. In terms of recording, there’s voicekeeping, shortcut, and widget support. There’s also refund/reimbursement, recurring charges, installments, multi-person bookkeeping, the ability to hide the numbers in your wallet, or toggle what things are shown in your net worth. There’s an option to permanently buy the premium features for a decent price, which I know many people appreciate. I will say that the English translations are a bit funky. But there aren’t any mistranslations that actually get in the way of using the app. I also wish there was an option to change the time to 12 hour format. And you can’t make your monthly budget reoccur for some reason. You have to manually set it up each month! But I can overlook all that. Honestly, I can’t believe this app is not more popular globally. I think the biggest draw of this app is its customizability, but the store page doesn’t show enough of that.
