## What is DadPad?

New dads will feel excited, but may also feel left out, unsure and overwhelmed. The Dadpad® gives dads-to-be the knowledge and practical skills necessary to support themselves and their partner, so that babies get the best possible start in life.

To complement the original DadPad® set of Cards, the DadPad® has now been developed further as an App to act as an on-the-go supportive guide.

Being rolled out as part of the UK’s Maternity Transformation Programme’s Better Birth’s Strategy, the information and signposting you get will be local to your NHS Trust or relevant Health Authority.

Just select the area that applies to you to open up your DadPad® and get to know what you can do as a new dad. If your area isn't included, let us know and we’ll make contact with those who can make it happen!
Build confidence around subjects such as:
- Holding and handling your baby
- Washing and bathing your baby
- Getting to know your baby
- Getting through the first few months
- Supporting your baby’s mum
- Looking after yourself
- Supporting each other
…..and much more

As new UK NHS Trusts or relevant Health Authorities adopt the DadPad® App, more locations will appear, as will new up-to-date information and features such as explanatory animations and videos.
From the start, the DadPad® has been working with mums, dads, Health Visitors, Midwives and Public Health Teams to provide the most relevant and accurate information available, and continues to do so.

Having chosen to invest in including and engaging with dads-to-be, and wanting to encourage new dads to get involved and come forward with questions and issues they have throughout their partner’s pregnancy and beyond, the DadPad App is free to you.

### 1/5 — Area not Included

*2023-07-01, version 3.2*

Really upset to see my area is not included (FK10 2FE). Hopefully see this added soon

### 1/5 — Dadpad review

*2022-06-08, version 3.2*

This app requests your postcode and will allow you to pick the closest hospital trust to you, however if you are in an area that does not support the app it will not work. There should be a generic version that will work in all areas, otherwise it’s quite limited.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2021-12-16, version 3.2*

### 5/5 — Good idea said my boyfriend

My boyfriend thinks it’s a wonderful app as we want children in the future so this app is ideal

### 1/5 — Can’t use

*2021-06-15, version 3.2*

The first thing this app asked you is to enter a valid uk postcode. I entered my home postcode, my work postcode and my parents postcode all with and without the space and everytime it told me my postcode was invalid so I deleted the app. Waste of time.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2021-02-11, version 3.2*

Our health visitor recommended this app and as a new dad to be I’ve found this has given me a lot of confidence in advance of our baby being born. Really easy to refer to all topics and being in bitesize chunks manageable to read which is great for anyone like me who hates reading lots. Best app I’ve downloaded for a new dad to be.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App - New update is brilliant
