I grew up without a father and without any exposure to Torah values. Now, at the age of nearly forty, I am learning Torah every day. Daf HaChaim presents a visual system of learning that is far more interactive than any other automated system I’ve encountered. Next to an actual chavrusa, this is the best way to learn Shas. Yasher koach! The app, like every app, has technical issues to address. The interface is quite beautiful and functional, but yesterday’s daf had the wrong image linked to the audio. An incredible app that is allowing hundreds of students to grow, many young men who go to university, work, and are fine members of their community, Bal Habatim from all over, I was even impressed by a certain Rosh Yeshiva, a giant in his own right who couldn’t stop heaping praise upon this application, when one of his talmidim brought it to his attention! The app allows one to literally see the Gemara come to life, the sensitivity and time that was put into making the app is clear, everything is illustrated and explained, and safe to say there is nothing like it out there, I recently had a Talmid who told me that when he went to medical school he was concerned, as he studies and even works on the side, how would he have time to learn, or find the patience, he was concerned, he needed a Rebbe who would patiently go through the Daf explaining things line by line...LO & BEHOLD...he discovered this app that allowed him to have a connection to his Gemara learning-with every line highlighted and explained with a virtual mentor on hand...it is beyond incredible! In addition intros, reviews, (diagrams and charts included), with such brilliant straight forward and clear explanations of the Gemara...no words would be enough in this review, it just wouldn’t do you justice...may ה״ יתברך continue giving you much ברכה and הצלחה!!! ### 5/5 — Done Right *2022-11-08, version 3.1* BH from the many Daf Yomi apps I tried, this the best from top to bottom. Clean layout, easy to navigate. Let’s you know where you are holding without needing you to save and put it in favorites….. In short, it’s an app that Yidden can learn from (I referring both the Gemora and Lehavdil technology of it). Recently started using on my iPad and sadly, I cannot access the intro or review videos which I have found to be very helpful. The Daf Shiur plays just fine though sometimes i wish I could speed it up to 1.25 or 1.5 speed. Also, if I swipe or try to relocate the speakers image it sometimes seems to float behind the text. I can still move and resize the speaker image but Rabbi S looks like a ghost behind the text. ### 3/5 — Crashing - FIXED *2020-01-09, version 2.2* The app crashes every time i try opening it on a 6th gen iPad using iOS 13.2. UPDATE: I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Now it runs. Will try it out for the first time. UPDATE 2: The main video works, but the intro and recap videos don’t want to load. Also, a skip button (+10 seconds, -10 seconds) might be helpful. ### 1/5 — Great app, but no audio *2017-08-18, version 2.0.2* This app is really very helpful and convenient for learning on the iPad. Up until a few weeks ago, this was the best daf yomi app of all the apps for iPad. Unfortunately, the audio no longer plays on the iPad, for any masechta, regardless of whether I download the daf or not.
