### 4/5 — Good but a couple of annoyances

*2020-01-25, version 2.5*

Helpful to be able to interface easily with the DAFNE website, and the diary input is mostly great.

The plotting facility isn't much use at all - plots seem to be very busy and hard to configure, but there are other apps for that. If there could be something like a grid view for looking back at the diary that'd be really useful.

My other gripe is that it often tries to automatically figure out what sort of entry you're making based on time of day. If you eat a late lunch or dinner or something there's no way to configure those automatic windows so you're always having to tweak the details.

Those are fairly minor complaints though.

### 2/5 — Difficulty using

*2018-10-18, version 2.3.3*

Despite having a DAFNE log in I keep getting the connection failed message. It pops up so frequently that it makes entering any information practically impossible. When it works it works well and is a useful app. The glitch is incredibly frustrating.

### 4/5 — Very useful app

*2018-09-29, version 2.3.3*

This app was brilliant before the latest software updates. Now I am having problems uploading my glucose readings. It does not upload it to the diary and that is annoying this needs to be fixed.

### 4/5 — Hard to update

*2015-12-11, version 2.2.1*

Like the app but for some reason it's not updating. Any help would be welcomed as I use it all the time for recording my blood glucose

### 3/5 — Handy but freezes

*2015-09-02, version 2.2.1*

This is a great app to record insulin and BSL records but it freezes quite often

### 1/5 — Backwards move

*2015-08-18, version 2.2.1*

OMG. Why on earth did you remove the insulin dose calculation. That was one of the most useful features. Especially when you still keep all the settings for ratios and targets etc - those screens are now pointless.

The app has now become nothing more than a data logger and there are plenty more of them.

Please bring back the insulin dose calculation.

It would be a great feature if any analysis tools to help with recommendations for ratio or basal injections can be added too - I know it would not be easy other than the graphs (some of which I have not got a clue how to interpret).

### 1/5 — App has been ruined

*2015-08-18, version 2.2.1*

They have removed the insulin dosage calculator which was one of the apps highlights and which saved me (and others) all sorts of time. As it is gone, this app is no different than the dozens other of poor blood glucose diaries out there on the App Store. So disappointing.

### 5/5 — Useful Tool

*2014-07-15, version 2.0.2*

A very useful and handy tool, not only to record your diary but also to have a CP guide on your phone rather than taking the book everywhere with you. Very impressed! 10/10.

### 5/5 — Love this app!

*2014-05-24, version 2.0.2*

So convenient to be able to have my diary on my phone in an easy to use way. Only criticism is that I use a different ratio at the weekend & there's no facility for me to change the ratio. Other that that tiny thing, I love it!

### 1/5 — Not Great

*2013-08-16, version 1.6.2*

Found it impossible to sign in, as it didn't seem to offer a proper registration option. As a result I can"t rate it's interactive services. I can, however rate the food guide which is hopeless. The range of foods covered is very basic and most diabetics will be asking more complex questions, unless they have just been diagnosed. I deleted the download, as I felt it was of little help to me.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Since this latest update...

*2018-09-27, version 2.3.2*

...what have you done to the app???? Readings are missing from the diary, 1 weeks readings have appeared at 12.01 on one day. Please fix or I am going to have to use an alternative.

### 1/5 — going down hill

*2015-09-17, version 2.2.1*

It’s a shame that the auto calculator was dropped. This has really made this app less useful. I still use it to keep data, but without the auto calculation it as turned record keeping into much more of a chore.

### 1/5 — Terrible update!

*2015-09-09, version 2.2.1*

I completely agree with most other reviewers. Why???

### 1/5 — Great app destroyed

*2015-08-29, version 2.2.1*

The removal of auto calculation has completely removed its usefulness for me. I will return to keeping a paper based diary instead because it is easier to note dosage by component part (auto calc dos all that for you).
Shame you cannot term auto calc as "suggested dose" to get around whatever pressures have caused the removal of core functionality

### 1/5 — Terrible update

*2015-08-29, version 2.2.1*

The removal of the correction calculator has made this app useless might as well uninstall it

### 1/5 — If it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

*2015-08-24, version 2.2.1*

Please bring back the auto calculations for the insulin dose. I don't know why you would want to remove something that's so helpful. I had to reset my ipod today which means that I no longer have any of my BG readings in the app. The app used to allow you to download all of your readings from the site, then it only allowed you to download a couple of weeks worth of data and now... absolutely nothing. Please either give us a way do download the info from the site or the option to manually import the csv or xml file.

### 1/5 — Great help now useless

*2015-08-19, version 2.2.1*

The best part about this app was its ability to auto calculate and give you a check on your own insulin doses now that this has been removed the app is almost useless a real shame what used to be good is now just a diary. Please give us the last version back.

### 1/5 — Utter Morons

*2015-08-19, version 2.2.1*

I have used this app for over two years and it was up untill yesterday brilliant.
Having just read other reviews I see I am not alone when I say that some cretin has decided to destroy a very useful app for people with a particular need.
Put the thing right before adverse publicity makes this app and anything else you produce unmarketable.

### 1/5 — Best feature removed - why??

*2015-08-19, version 2.2.1*

Been using dafne for nearly two years - one of THE BEST apps on my phone. But removing the auto calculator for insulin dose is very annoying. That was a fantastic feature and really helped me get to grips with the regime. Not happy.

### 1/5 — Why ruin a great app?

*2015-08-18, version 2.2.1*

I presume you have taken away the dose calculation for fear of litigation as there can be no other reason for doing so. I used the app religiously as an instant double check of my mental arithmetic when calculating corrective doses, without this feature I don't see much point in keeping the app. Shame because I really liked it, back to carbs and cals and the back of an envelope! What a shame.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great very useful

*2021-05-26, version 2.6.1*

Love this app, so helpful

### 5/5 — Great little app!

*2018-11-03, version 2.3.5*

Great app that I use constantly to keep a good record of my levels and see averages which make life easy to monitor!

On another note I had a small crashing issue since an Apple update, but It was no problem with the amazing support from Simon, who had it worked out and repaired in a few days with a constant stream of emails keeping me updated! 10/10 to Simon and this app 😎

### 5/5 — Running well once again. (Fixed)

*2018-09-20, version 2.3*

Running stable on ios12 after recent update.

### 5/5 — I'd be lost without it

*2017-06-28, version 2.2.4*

I detest taking my blood sugar, mainly because I have to write it down in that horrible little orange book and I can't keep track or I lose the book so don't test for days.. however this app has been like a breath of fresh air, not only am I recording my BG 5-7 or so times a day and actually keeping on top of it, it takes 5 seconds to record on my phone and is a lot easier to see where my BI needs adjusting! Perfect.

### 5/5 — Login bugs mean you can't sync app with DAFNE website

*2016-05-01, version 2.2.4*

Having had some initial issues in using the app (quickly resolved on the DAFNE forums) I can confirm this is a great app for DAFNE "graduates".

If, like me, you don't want to carry an old fashioned notebook to track your control, this is the app for you.

Well done guys.

### 5/5 — At Last , a Mac Friendly app for diabetics

*2016-02-14, version 2.2.4*

Looking forward to using this to record and update my Type 1 Diary which can hopefully be transmitted to the hospital dietician

### 5/5 — Fantastic!!!

*2015-12-10, version 2.2.4*

Simon and the team have worked really hard to make this app great!

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2015-11-26, version 2.2.4*

Having tried lots of apps and now being a Dafne grad, this is just what you need. Excellent app, well supported. Use it.

### 5/5 — still good

*2015-08-21, version 2.2.1*

hhmmm, I think some of you need to google MHRA. Perhaps you don't understand where your drugs come from and who controls them. If you want an insulin dose calculator you will have to pay for one from a drug company that can invest millions into getting it approved. Or maybe you want to invest your own personal time to help others by developing a free app. No ? move on nothing to see here.....

### 5/5 — My Handy Diary

*2014-12-20*

Very helpful and handy!
