## What is Daft Music?

Daft Music 3.0 is our biggest update yet: a native Apple Music player for Mac and iPhone, now with real AI features built in.

Find and play your music instantly with Spotlight and SiriAI support. A new AI Checker flags tracks that sound machine-generated as you listen. On iPhone, album art gets real depth with 3D Artworks. On Mac, stream with AirPlay 2, shape your sound with a 10-band equalizer, and use Instrument Isolation to mute vocals, drums, bass, or anything else. 3D Artworks and Instrument Isolation both run on CoreAI, our on-device AI engine built for Apple Silicon.

And everything you already know Daft Music for is still here: Last.fm scrobbling, Spotify and Tidal playlist import and sync, worldwide radio with Shazam song identification, and a native, private-by-design interface on both platforms.

Simple. Beautiful. Fast. This is how Apple Music should feel.

Featured by Apple as one of the "Apps We Love." Praised by MacStories as "a breath of fresh air."

An Apple Music subscription is required. Daft Music is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.

Daft Music is a third-party music player. Apple, the Apple logo, and Apple Music are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries and regions.

### 5/5 — Great potential

*2026-10-21*

Beautiful, well polished app, still yet lacking in some features but as they consistently implement new features This is not a real peoblem

**Developer response:** Let me know, what is missing! ❤️

### 5/5 — Good Alt to Apple Music

*2026-10-14*

Loving it

### 4/5 — Instrument isolation is Mac Only

*2026-09-27*

note: I missed that fact when I first tried the app, but the developer reached out to clarify.

I tried the app on an iPhone 17 pro. My key interest was trying instrument isolation, but that isn’t available. I’m giving 4 stars bc it does have a very nice UI and other features, but those alone are not compelling enough for me to subscribe without being able to use instrument isolation on my phone.

**Developer response:** Hey, the Feature is only available on macOS.

### 3/5 — Not for me

*2026-09-25*

Daft failed to see 80% of my Apple Music library on import both on iPhone and Mac and made a very beautiful mess of what it could find. I imagine this app works much better for people that only use Apple Music as a streaming service like Spotify but I have a significant library of actual ripped CDs which means different metadata and some uploaded music when iCloud Match fails or the songs aren’t on Apple Music, none of which carried over. I don’t usually have an issue seeing my whole music library on third party music apps.

### 4/5 — Quite good

*2026-08-31*

It’s quite good and pleasant to use but the music only comes out of my MacBook Air connected speakers, I can’t use my Sonos speakers or Apple Airplay 2. So I will not be subscribing but I had two weeks to trial before the purchase.

**Developer response:** Check the latest update!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2026-08-30*

I use Daft Music a lot! The interface and the features are amazing and it keeps getting better!

### 5/5 — Great and getting better.

*2026-08-27*

Daft started out as a cool alternative to the standard Apple Music app - for my use case, a more logical approach to listening and library management without a lot of the clutter. It continues to grow and the dev adds new features while also remaining responsive to feedback. It’s clear that Daft is made by someone who considers and cares about the way we listen and wants to improve it. Daft has become my daily music app and it’s really rad that for all its charms it continues to improve. Worth checking out and — at least for me — the modest annual sub.

### 5/5 — Better than Apple Music

*2026-08-13*

I’ve been a longtime Apple Music user with a lot of playlists. I’ve tried a lot of other players, but no one matches Daft Music’s approach which is clean, fast, and consistent. Honestly, it’s replaced Apple Music’s default app, especially with how it handles radio so easily too.

Daft Music is my go to everyday on both Mac and iOS. The developer is also really responsive. This is one subscription that I’ll never question renewing. I can’t recommend it enough!

### 5/5 — A relief from Apple Music spam

*2026-08-04*

I was looking for a player that would not push Apple’s latest garbage on me each time I tried to listen to music. Apple Music made me click 4 times to get to my music. This player solves that problem; it has a really clean interface.

### 5/5 — Great

*2026-07-31, version 2.1.3*

I’ve used this app on macOS for a while, and was really pleased to see it come to iOS.

It’s clean, well designed, and just does the job it’s intended for.

Recommended.
