## What is Dagg?

The run is yours alone.

Dagg is a running app with nothing to perform for. No feed, no followers, no kudos, no leaderboards. Just you, the ground you cover, and a quiet record of it.

Track your run with GPS. Watch it drawn back as a shape. Race your past routes: your own ghost, not a stranger's. Hear a calm voice only when it helps, a hill ahead or a fading pace, and silence the rest of the time.

ON YOUR WRIST
Dagg runs on Apple Watch, on its own. Start from your wrist and leave the phone at home: time, distance and pace on the watch, heart rate alongside, a haptic at every kilometre. The run reaches your iPhone by itself when you get back. Bring the phone instead and the watch becomes a mirror of it, with a tap on the wrist for every coaching cue.

THE CORE IS FREE, AND COMPLETE
No trial, no account, no crippled features. Install it and run.

• GPS tracking that keeps going in your pocket, with a Live Activity on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island
• Every run saved as a shape, not a number to beat
• Race your previous routes as ghosts
• Voice coaching spoken by the phone itself: hills, fatigue, splits, pace
• Auto-pause that catches the moment you stopped and back-dates it, so your moving time stays honest
• Splits, elevation, and an honest read of where you faded and where you kicked
• Write to Apple Health if you want it, and export any run as GPX
• Square, honest, monospace design. Less, deliberately.

DAGG PRO (optional subscription)
When you're training toward something, a 5K, a 10K, a half, a first marathon, Dagg builds a week-by-week plan paced to your current fitness and re-fits it after every run from how that run went.

• A plan to your goal race, paced to where you are now
• A suggested next run, each day
• Guided workouts spoken as you run them: the warmup, every rep, every recovery, each at its own pace
• Change a session you have not run yet, and the plan fits around your change instead of writing over it
• Re-fits after every run, and tells you what it changed
• Choose how the coach speaks: Direct, Steady or Warm
• Optional cloud sync, so a new phone starts where you left off
• One week free, then yours to keep or leave, anytime

It runs on real machines, so it costs something to keep going. The subscription pays for that, and nothing more.

WHAT DAGG LEAVES OUT
No feed. No followers. No kudos. No streaks. No guilt. Nothing you run is ever made public.

Your runs are recorded and kept on your phone. Cloud sync is off until you switch it on, and you can delete the stored copy whenever you like.

The run stays free. Always.

Dagg Pro is an auto-renewable subscription.
• Length: 1 month, renewing monthly until you cancel
• A 1-week free trial first, then the monthly price for your country, shown before you subscribe
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple ID account settings.
• Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.9.0 — 2026-09-07

Dagg 1.9: the route is yours to choose.

CHOOSING THE ROUTE
• A planned session used to hand you one route and show it as a line of text. It is a card you swipe now, and the choice sticks.
• You are only offered routes that actually fit the session. A 3 km loop is not a worse answer to a 10 km long run, it is the wrong run, so it is not offered at all.
• "No route, guided anywhere" is always there as the last card.

THE MAP WHILE YOU RUN
• A route you saved on a trip somewhere else no longer drags the live map across the gap and squeezes today's run into a dot. Past a kilometre from where you started, it leaves the map. The pacing and the spoken cues still use it.
• A run starts zoomed in and grows into the frame, instead of beginning as a speck.

FIXES
• A long run with the phone in your pocket could end in a crash. The map kept redrawing itself in full, many times a minute, for a screen nobody was looking at, until the app ran out of memory. It rests while Dagg is in the background now, and catches up the moment you look.
• A run whose summary you closed before the save had finished could lose its route. It keeps it.
• The button on the run summary no longer stretches to the edge of the display.
• Failures deep in the app, saving to the database and talking to the watch, used to pass in silence. They are reported now, which is how they get fixed.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-08-18

Dagg 1.8: in your units, from the first run.

KILOMETRES OR MILES
• Distances and paces now read in miles or kilometres, following what your phone's region implies. Change it whenever you like in Settings, under units.
• It is a reading, not a rewrite. Nothing you have recorded is converted or migrated: switching units re-reads the same history a different way, so no run can be lost or rounded in the move, and a run synced from another phone reads correctly here whatever that phone was set to.
• Anything whose value is a distance follows, not just its label. Announcements land on half-mile stops, the in-run haptic and the fastest-split ledger count miles, and the one-to-go cue fires a mile out.
• Track reps stay in metres in both, because 400s are 400s everywhere.

A PROPER START
• Open Dagg for the first time and it now shows you what it does before asking you anything. Pick a race and see the actual first week it would build, worked out on your phone, with no account and no subscription.
• Hear the coach before you run with it. Each register speaks a real line, so you choose by ear.
• If your phone only has Apple's basic voices installed, Dagg says so and points you at the natural ones, which are a free download most people never find.
• Location is explained before it is asked for, so you know why a run has to be followed the whole way and not only while you are looking at it.
• Already running with Dagg? None of this appears. It is for first launches only, and everything in it has always been in Settings.

DAGG PRO
• The subscription is now called Dagg Pro. Nothing about it changes: same plan, same price, same features. The old name described something the free app already gives you, which made it hard to tell what the money was for.
• If you subscribe already, it carries over by itself. There is nothing to do.

YOUR GOAL
• Target pace is a stepper now, the same control as the current pace below it and on the same five-second grid. It opens on what your recent runs project you would run at that distance, and dialling it down is how you say how much faster you want to get.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-08-11

Dagg 1.7: what you are told, told straight.

THE PACE YOU HEAR
• Spoken pace now describes the stretch it just announced. It used to average a full kilometre however often you asked for updates, so two cues could report paces seconds apart while you held one steady effort.
• The opening of a run no longer reports the slow first metres as your current pace.

LOCK SCREEN AND WATCH
• The lock screen widget goes away the moment you stop, instead of leaving a frozen summary sitting there long after the run ended.
• The watch clears its post-run summary after two minutes rather than half an hour, so raising your wrist later shows the time, not a run you have finished.

AFTER THE RUN
• The summary is somewhere to log the run first and read about it second. Effort and note sit together, and the details are there when you want them.
• When the coach adjusts your plan it says so before you tap Done, shows the work happening, and tells you what it changed.
• A re-fit that fails now stays on your plan as something you can retry, instead of quietly not happening.

YOUR PLAN
• Set a goal by pace instead of finish time, whichever you think in. The other follows.
• Completed sessions keep the order you actually ran them in, so running one ahead of its turn no longer leaves the plan out of step.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-06

Dagg 1.6: your plan, on your terms.

YOUR SESSIONS
• Tap any session in your plan to see exactly what it asks of you: warmup, reps, recoveries, cooldown, and the pace for each.
• Change the distance or pace of a session you have not run yet. The change is yours: the plan fits around it instead of writing over it.
• Run it, and the sessions that follow adjust to what you actually did.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED
• Sessions now record the day you really ran them, so one done late reads as done late rather than simply done.
• Your runs sort by when you last ran a route, not when you first made it. Return to an old path and it comes back to the top.

COACH STYLE
• Choose how the coach speaks: Direct, Steady, or Warm. Steady is the voice you already know, and it stays free.
• A short written read on each run, in the same voice, on the summary screen.

CLOUD SYNC (optional)
• Off unless you turn it on. Your runs stay on your phone by default, as they always have.
• Turn it on and your runs and plans stay with your account, so a new phone starts where you left off.
• Turning it off changes nothing on your phone, and you can delete the stored copy whenever you like.

Sessions you completed before this version take their date from the run that fulfilled them.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-07-22

Dagg 1.5: every run, remembered in full.

RUN REVIEW
• Tap any run in a route's history to see it in full: km splits, where you slowed and how you finished, paused time, energy, and effort.
• Guided runs keep their workout table: every warmup, rep, recovery, and cooldown, planned pace versus what you ran.
• Notes and effort can be added or edited on any past run, not just the one you have just finished.

Runs recorded from this version on carry the full detail; older runs show what was measured at the time.
